Lead is one of the easiest-to-mine, easiest-to-work metals there is. There's a reason it's dirt cheap. So pricing it the same as ammunition is way too high. I would guess in bulk it would be on the order of 5-10 copper pieces per pound, but that's just an estimate as something around 1/5-1/10 the price of copper.
(I don't have a book handy, but I seem to recall coins are 1/3 oz. each, so it's around 50 CP for a pound of copper, so 5-10 for a pound of lead seems like a 'starting ballpark figure')

Interesting, if I were to try to use modern prices lead is actually MORE expensive than gold. Of course, that is not 'historical' but then again, neither is D&D/PF. Hehehe.
Thanks for the sling bullet idea. Perhaps I will use sling bullet pricing as a baseline. Lets see: 1sp for 5lbs but if we use the craft rules that means the materials are 1/3sp for 5lbs. That works out to 2/3cp per lb.
