Questions about how to host a murder

Card & Board Games

The wife and I were looking at this game and it looked interesting. Has any one played this? If you have I'd love to here some feed back. And how many people does it take to play...min/Max?

Depends on which one.
I did one once, in a class actually. There's usually around a dozen characters, IIRC. But I have to imagine it depends on which one you are hosting.

I only have room for about 6. I wonder how that would work.

It should say right on the box. The ones I've done have been 6 or 8 people and you need all of them to run it. Keep in mind this is a one-time event, not a game you re-play.

You really need the precise amount of people the game calls for. If there are 8 characters you need 8 people, if there are 6 you need 6. Its really hard to do things otherwise as each character has key clues, and you cant fix it without ruining the surprise.

That said, if someone wants to be the writer or 'gm' they can take it upon themselves to simply host and not play in the game and move around clues (and even make improvements) to allow for a different number of people.

We used to play them about 10 years ago. They are a lot of fun we would dress up and decorate our house so it looked like the mystery .. When we had extra people they got dressed up as well and participated but weren't part of the story.

We would cook good food have a laugh and get drunk.

This looks like half a discussion. I missed the upfront piece.

I've run about 12-15 host a murder evenings over the years.

What are some sticking points that you were curious about?

Same!

I even had a few friends who used to run them as a business for corporate groups etc. A good time had by all.
