Pulled Off Murder Mystery Adventure

Campaign Journals

I was successful in pulling off a murder mystery adventure, which I think was quite a treat for my players.

My map of the quest was roughly based on the Clue board, down to the secret passages from opposite corners.

The former king was thought to be murdered and it was the PCs job as independent investigators to determine who the murderer was.

The king stipulated that the party was not to use magically compelled confessions or to use magic to read thoughts, as that would be evidence he would not accept at trial.

So the party was left to their own cleverness, and the occasional skill roll in sense motive and perception.

The guilty party was ultimately "brought to justice" and a curse lifted from the land.

Let's say someone else wanted to pull that off. Got any advice?
