Fran Belmont |
Sorry for no posts last night or this morning guys; work was really rough last night and I just wanted to come home and sleep. It may take me a bit to get around to posting tonight - it's my parents' 50th wedding anniversary today and I'm going to go pay them a visit shortly - but I should have something up before/by tomorrow morning. Thanks for your patience :)
GM Bret |
Thanks for the update, Fran.
Weekends have gone a little slower anyways.
GM Bret |
I think that I’ve caught up with the information requests.
Let me know if I’ve missed one.

Sorry about the delayed response, spent the afternoon/evening at our first ever local Pathfinder Society game! We were goblins and it was lots of fun :)
Also, I work a later shift tomorrow (10a-8:30p) and won't be home until 9:30p. If things get slow in the evening I might able to post from my Kindle but otherwise it won't be until after I get home.
Doom Girl |
Yeah, I think it’s a good move to hand waive the rest of the horrors of the daily routine here. Give them a taste, and then move forward to the much more fun infiltration and detective stuff.
This is the module that caused one of my bards to invest in disable device, adamantine wire saws and thieves tools. She vowed to never be locked up again!
Thomas Hasoshi |
So glad i have 2 of those.
Thomas is going to have to search for everyone thoroughly.
Fingers crossed that i see Kitty, so it can vouch for me being me. ;)
Fran Belmont |
I see these guys subscribe to the view of, 'Beatings will continue until morale improves'!
GM Bret |
The actual attitude is more "Do what you want to those below you. Fear those above you."
They do like to abuse their power, often in petty ways.
Fran Belmont |
Yep, pretty typical cult behavior but I couldn't help but make a joke anyway :)
GM Bret |
Totally appropriate.
Paizo boards are not allowing me to edit my message. The yellow thing in the middle of T1 is the flail.
Thomas Hasoshi |
Out of curiosity...
Supposing Thomas doesn't run into bad luck and kicks the bucket, how will he be steering his train back onto track, in sync with the others?
Don't misunderstand, i'm liking this side effect of my earlier gamble.
I'm just wondering, wouldn't Thomas be missing out on encounters?
GM Bret |
I am spending far too much time on this sidetrack for a single player.
How we get him back on track depends on what you do. Once we get him to a position where we can do so, we will be skipping him forward several days. I can’t say how I will be bringing you back in because I don’t know what you are going to do next.
Thomas Hasoshi |
I apologize if that question is getting to you.
All Thomas really wants to achieve right now, is getting a culty outfit to rejoin the others.
I'll post again tomorrow. Gnight everyone.
Kriklishik |
Hey, GM, are those two figures up on the stairs guards? Will they be remaining in the area?
<evil grin>
GM Bret |
One of them is the big guy in black robed that has been training you. The other one is a priest in grey robes.
Not pictured are the five people (total) up in the watch tower and gatehouse.
In two hits with bare fists, the fat one in black robes brought Shayna down to about half hit points. He has his great club with him, but none of you have seen him use it.
The grey robe has a rapier, some sort of light armor under the robes, and a shield.
Kriklishik |
I'm going to attempt to position myself near Shayna to have a word. When her token is set, I'll move mine.
Kriklishik |
Finding myself wishing I'd taken "Energize Weapon" :) But it's not something I'll use often, so it'll have to wait.
Vlazis 'The Beloved' Chibuzo |
My channel/support cleric is certainly not in his element when he has no allies to buff, and can't channel or cast :<
Kriklishik |
I mean, I know we're about to go into mock combat with each other, but I thought I might remind you that there are at least a few cleric spells that do not require your divine focus. Burning disarm is among them, as is cause fear. :)
Vlazis 'The Beloved' Chibuzo |
Well I'll be damned
GM Bret |
Yeah, between the lack of spell component pouch and (un)holy symbol, this section can be challenging. You also have to watch for If the spell uses a focus.
Sorcerers do much better, but even then you can hit problems since many foci are in the spell component pouch. Still need the foci even with Eschew Materials.
Vlazis 'The Beloved' Chibuzo |
I knew there were a couple, I just didn't realize two of my go-to's were in the list lol
GM Bret |
It is unlikely I will be able to start the combat today. I need the preparation time for a Starfinder Society scenario I am running tonight plus the normal host activities.
Sorry!

Thomas,
I had a thought that could help reintegrate your character with the group.
Would you be willing to have your character hide a couple of days, then swap places with Evlar (aka the unfriendly elf) and get him out?
That would place you back in the group and allow you to pass on what you have found.
Let me know what you think.
GM Bret |
Sorry for the somewhat forced retcon to get Thomas back into the group.
I would have liked a smoother transition, but we do have a time limit on the game and I didn’t want to delay things any further.
Kriklishik |
Works just fine. :) It's all been somewhat nebulous up to this point.
Kriklishik |
Just a heads-up, tonight is football, so I'll be unavailable until like 10:30 or 11, and tomorrow we have a Marching Band competition in the afternoon.

Hopefully you will have time to post tonight after the game.

Should but just in case...
Repeat until the bosses beat me down. If they start going lethal, come off bot.
If the opportunity ever arises to run and hide behind the bosses, do so. Hopefully they'll grab me and throw me back in. (Searing flesh.)

As Ramon is apparently planning something dangerous, would it be kosher for me to examine his spoiled action since Vlazis goes after him?
Thomas Hasoshi |
With the above said, and only assuming Ramon doesn't move from their current position.
Since Vlazis goes before Thomas in combat, and Thomas going to continue his rumble with Vlazis, him jumping to close the distance wouldn't happen if he's close by, going after Ramon.
Would his aoo roll then instead resolve as a regular attack?
GM Bret |
I don’t understand the question.
If Vlazis does something that would open himself up to an AoO from the invisible Thomas, yes that would get resolved.
Thomas Hasoshi |
Sry i my previous was badly phrased.
Thomas will continue his brawl with Vlazis, and my post assumed there would be distance between us, to overcome with a jump.
However, if Ramon doesn't move, Vlazis would come over to Thomas and Ramon, making the jump action not needed. That leaves Thomas his standard action, which he'd then use to attack.
My question was therefor if the aoo i rolled earlier, would be used as a regular attack, or if i'd roll again.
GM Bret |
If someone expects to get an AoO, they should roll that separately from a normal attack.
Ramon 'Ray' Azure |
Go team.
Kriklishik |
Well, I call that a successful fight!
Fran Belmont |
*munches popcorn*
I agree! Though a part of me thinks this fight should've had Yakety Sax or something playing in the background...
Kriklishik |
Gonna enjoy that CLW wand later, that's for sure.
