Still, we have to get it to someplace we can sell it if that is the consensus... I think it depends on knowing the condition and stats of the ship before we make a decision.
Rain Taneththir |
We haven't addressed the following rp:
After the battle, Fitch takes a look at the ring and is overcome with excitement. Now all you must do is place the ring on your second finger on your right hand and touch to skull emblem to a piece of the deceased you wish to find. I have the bone here if you wish to proceed with it.
Variel Nightstorm |
True Rain but with the other things going on I let it slip for now.
As for who should wear it, for now I think you should being the pilot so you know where to go.
Horatio to answer the question on crew...
We had 63 people on the Lady and each ship requires 20 to sail it properly. I moved 30 to the Dryad. You 4, 20 crew for sailing and 3 crew for watch at night. The crew at night and the remainder can double as gun crew.
that leaves 33 crew on the Lady, which needs 20 to sail, but is bigger and has more sleeping space not that we really worry at all about those mechanics but that was my reasoning.

Outstanding! Thank you for the information and all the hard work you've been doing, too!
Variel Nightstorm |
Np Rain. It's all good.
Horatio Flynn |
So it looks like everything is taken care of.
We've split the crews between the ships; we've got everything stored and safe; we are literally ready to sail in the correct (i.e. safest/fastest) direction around the island to meet at the northern point and examine the place where the ship has sunk.
I think the only thing we need at this point is to know which direction to sail; what roll needs to be made to get us there and (finally, after the roll has been made) what time we get there and what we see when we do.
Hopefully that will happen soon :)
Rain Taneththir |
Bump. Where's Jiro? It would be good to hear (on the main game thread) from the other players (who haven't posted yet) at this juncture before we move on and Immortal gives us any info re our checks.
Seijiro |
Sorry...on phone so short post,coming... ack went to post and found huge walls of text... my page wasn't updating apparently... too much to read all, so just assuming crews have been divided and we,are ready to sail...not thrilled with all I missed.
Seijiro |
just out of curiosity - are we sure this piece of possible ore is actually a box and not just a hunk of ore?
Rain Taneththir |
I'm currently at the hospital. An immediate family member just passed away. I'll be away from the boards for a week or two weeks as preparations etc need to be made.
Variel, can you bot Rain and Neko during my absence, please?
Seijiro |
I'm so sorry Rain... take care
Variel Nightstorm |
Sorry to hear that Rain. I will gladly bot you until you get back. Take all the time you need and my best wishes to you and the family.
Horatio Flynn |
Hey gang!
I'll be back for the incident on Sunday Evening (that is the 20th on East Coast Standard).
Currently I have Magical Vestment on which boosts my base AC by a +1 Bonus and now I have Cat's Grace on so that's another +2 to AC.
That said, I know most people don't do a lot of posting during the weekend, but GM - as you know my stats/abilities the best if you need to Bot my character while I'm away for the weekend, that's totally cool.
Okay, I'll see you guys when I get home and I hope you kick these things asses :)
P.S: Given the fact that we may end up having to haul up more sunken treasure in the future, it may be a good idea to invest in some - Muleback Cords - (check - here - for what a +8 to your Strength via Carrying Capacity can do). They only take 500 GP to craft them but having them in the ship's treasury for hauling up heavy sunken stuff (not to mention just having them in general) could really be handy.
Also, while they don't apply to combat specifically, I believe they SHOULD apply to the amount of stuff a person can carry while flying. GM, if you could please clarify that for us? Thanks!
Cool - that said; I hope you have a guys have a great weekend.
P.P.S: Rain, I hope you and your family are doing better, but just let us know if there is anything we can do to help.
Variel Nightstorm |
Thanks immortal I was thinking that we had resist cold and not endure elements.

Immortal, I managed to move my avatar. Apparently you have to be logged into Gmail to be able to edit the map. Shrugs.
Flynn, I just moved your avatar to X:26.
Variel Nightstorm |
Welcome back Rain.
Adular, Variel has mirror images up so not going to be able to hit him with the healing right now unless you roll for it and possibly waste the spell and an image. Thanks for the try though buddy. I will come to you and grab on when I really need it. Also with the temps from vampiric touch I have some decent hp still.
Horatio Flynn |
For everyones viewing pleasure. Flynn I know you've never had this problem with dice but you can read anyway lol.
Good Times, indeed :)
Meantime, I think we need to start showing our dice some love - that was a pretty epic set of rolls just now :D
Rain Taneththir |
What is the plan, here? I am confused as to why we're risking crushing depth pressure when there's Ana in aquatic dino form who could swim further down and check things out, right? It would be good to get a summary of the plan - what we're trying to do at this point so I know what to do with Rain.
Plus, what happened to Dhaavan's summoned creatures? Last round he was summoning/casting but there's no reference to them this round.
Thanks, kindly.

Hey, Rain!
So basically we went to explore the ship and some monsters came out to fight us. I think we all assumed that they were some type of "Boss Monster" (possibly a guardian or something?) and that it was "game on" against a tough boss.
At that point most of us used magic buffs to deal with the trouble; luckily, thanks to some great attack actions we managed to drop them relatively quickly.
At this point (for good or bad) me and Variel still had some buffs activated so we both went down. I figured if we moved down fast we'd find out the following before the buffs wore off. If we went down fast we'd discover one of two possibilities:
1. There was a threat below that would likely know we're there (as there's blood in the water and sharks can literally smell a drop of blood over a mile away in the water) and whatever creature MIGHT be in the trench will come charging up after us as soon as we move in (remember, Sahuagin and sharks do a lot of work together, and the Southern Coast of "Shark Island" was called the "Sahuagin Coast", so I kind of assumed that we'll probably have to deal with some Sahuagin Chief, or something like that, though so far I'm starting to think that's not going to be a problem). Point is, by going down fast we'd likely push the fight forward to continue after only a few rounds and when our spells are still up.
2. That there's no threat in the water at all - in which case we find out quickly and the spells can expire in time with no problem.
After me and Variel went down then the GM moved the rest of the party after us and here we are!
At this point it seems like there isn't any real threat below (except for the pressure) which may be a trouble to finding treasure, especially if it's hidden in some compartment that an animal may not be able to discover (though after the earlier "The Goonies!" reference I'm wondering if we try to take the Pirate Captain's treasure if we'll make some kind of trap happen :)
Anyhow, I guess we'll see what happens next!
That said, game's to you, GM...
Rain Taneththir |
Thanks for the answer, Flynn. :)
Where are people? Jiro, Adular, Dhaavan? The more people to help explore, the quicker and less pressure on only some of the party. Even someone to aid in the spellcraft rolls ...
Thanks.
Variel Nightstorm |
Don't know about the others but the last 2-3 nights I have had trouble with paizo being down or accepting posts.
Horatio Flynn |
Regarding the Paizo thing, that often happens to me, too.
One the best suggestions I've heard for that is to go their Facebook site (Paizo does have a Facebook Site) and post that you have an issue, as well as (if possible) what server you're using or at least what Time Zone you're in (as in; West Coast, East Coast).
Putting on their Board/Page that their site is down and specifically where you're having trouble (again, server or area) generally gets someone in their IT department on it very quickly as they don't want to have bad publicity.
It may not always work, but the few times I've tried that solution it's been very helpful and very fast response.
Anyhow, it's just a suggestion but I hope it helps :)
Rain Taneththir |
Unfortunately I'll be off the boards until my Wednesday (your Tuesday) due to familial and funerary obligations. Please bot Rain where necessary until then. Thank you, kindly.
Horatio Flynn |
Freebooter's Bane: +1 to hit and damage. That kind of info I always place in my Current Status spoiler, just for future reference. :)
Thanks, Rain!
Variel Nightstorm |
I am with you Flynn I just used a mythic point and my shirt to close the distance instead. I need to look into getting a swim speed at some point for these encounters. That and upgrading my dagger to +1.
Horatio Flynn |

On the plus side, upgrading the dagger should be pretty easy. But I agree with you; there's got to be a better way to boost our swim speed, but so far all I see is magical items which boosts a standard Swim Check and nothing for boosting Swim Speed, though.
If you know of anything I'd love to take a look as I think that would be pretty handy in the long run :)
Rain Taneththir |
Immortal, a question if I may, as I'm curious: Can Rain use her wings to propel herself in the water? Much like flippers, I guess as her wings are leathery/webbed. Thanks.
DM Immortal |
Sorry Rain the wings won't help underwater, they don't hurt but they don't help either.
Rain Taneththir |
Whatever happened to Ana? Last we heard (when Rain asked her to help explore) she had turned into a serpent and disappeared below/lower. This serpent isn't Ana, is it? Or is it possibly another wild shaping Druid?
Seijiro |
Just a heads up. I am posting this in all my games, so you may see it more than once.
I am leaving for a cruise at 2am on March 5th. I'll be on the road all night and arriving at the ship midday. I won't have internet access til sometime the night of the 5th... For the next 2 weeks, I will have spotty internet (wifi at sea isn't the best), and I'll probably only be checking in at night once a day. Please if my character needs to take action between my own posts, GM feel free to bot me as necessary.
Ship returns to port on March 19th, and I will resume normal posting on the 20th.
Thanks, and sorry for any inconvenience my semi-absence may cause.

We can all heal ourselves in a pinch. But we also have a dedicated cleric among us who is the one responsible for the healing. I had Rain cast a CLW to save Ana as she was bleeding out and my girl has limited spells (the least in the group). I simply played it in game as Rain would think it -- Ana is very hurt and get Adular, the healer, to heal. Shrugs.
Rain Taneththir |
Immortal, thanks for letting me know about the save and spell.
In regard to Rain helping Variel with the spellcraft on Ana's affliction, did it reveal anything more, please?
Adular |

Ok. I wasn't commenting on your IC comments (Which make perfect sense), just the discussion post that Ana was at 3 points. I was merely letting you know that I knew she was weak but positive at the time and letting you know why another cure wasn't being cast at this time.
By the time I posted, Rain had already ICly stopped the bleeding. So that's not neglect on Adular's part, that's slowness on his player's posting part. Had Rain not brought Ana to positive, Adular would have at least gotten her stabilized.
Second, I'm not sure if I was clear on where Adular's mindset was on Ana's situation, if Ana is mind controlled, Adular is not keen on charging her up to full strength only to have our brainwashed druid attack them a few rounds later.
Third, by the time he was asked to heal her, he had already (If I have the order right) tried to cast a confusion spell (Albeit probably not an effective one given the foe we're facing but it is his action. Maybe a miracle will happen and thing will roll a very bad save. :)
I was just trying to assure you that yes, I'm on top of it, don't worry. Obviously my attempt at assurance fell flat.
I will admit, when I first saw the quoted post above, it was hard not to take it in a negative way, that is telling me how to play MY Character, but that's probably me being oversensitive to such and reading you wrong. At least, I hope it is.
