A Brief History of MMOs: Filmed in conjunction with a presentation given by Ryan Dancey about the forthcoming Pathfinder Online MMO. (The lighting was pretty low, and this was filmed with a Flip, so please excuse the low quality video.)

Thanks Ed. Awesome candid shots!
I recognized Gear's tattooed head...sorry man, I know I said I'd be there this year with you all, but something crazy is taking all my vacation plans this year (Wacken Open Air festival). Next year I will be there!
Guy in the second picture in the gallery is someone I game with regularly. Neat to see him get caught in a random photo :)
*Edit* and of course pictures 3 and 4 are Ashton Sperry (Pathfinder Paper Minis) and Ben Bruck (UC, Race Guide, etc) also from here ;)
Please forgive the lack of facial clarity. The lighting in the room was very very dark, particularly compared to the presentation slides in the background.

So, in that video, we don't actually get to see Jeff come back into the banquet hall. I wish it'd been on the video. He came back in, carrying a dinner plate with a bacon-cheeseburger and fries. He walked to my table, set it down, and after a brief handshake, left me sitting there amazed and stunned.
I was the customer that Jeff was off helping.
The dinner buffet for the banquet had run out of food, and I was basically the last person in line. I'm an insulin-dependant diabetic, and it's kind of a big deal for me to have to be able to eat when I take my insulin. While I'd obviously heard his name, I didn't realize that *he* was Jeff Alvarez, until he had his arm around my shoulder telling me that he was going to make it right for me. He was both conforting and insistent, telling me that if I didn't tell him what I would like to eat, he was going to go to the hotel bar, and order me a bacon-cheeseburger and fries.
It wasn't his mistake, it wasn't even Paizo's. It was the hotel kitchen staff's fault. But, Jeff went out of his way to help me. In the middle of the banquet, when he would've been accepting his promotion to COO, he was hand-carrying my dinner to my table.
*That*, to me, is just about the best example of why I love Paizo.
And why I won't ever forget Jeff.
... Thanks, man. You're the best.

I know! I wish I had three cameras / operators. Next year!
Thanks Ed! I love hearing people say that it's their first PaizoCon, or their first ever gaming con. And all the stuff everyone else said is exactly why there's a PaizoCon. Because Paizo is awesome.

Jeff is one of the single kindest and most amazing people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. Its almost impossible to imagine someone like him...you have to see him in action to believe him...luckily he is ALWAYS in action.
Paizo people in general are four or five steps above. I think its a MASSIVE credit to Lisa that she attracts/selects/hires/promotes such paragons of human virtue.
I cried like a little girl during Lisa's speech at the banquet...unashamed.
Its great to see such a positive company, full of good people doing great work, succeeding.

I'll never say it enough--Jeff deserves that title so much. He's absolutely the best for the position. Always going out of his way to help people out...even me, a total trouble maker (just kidding). I've seen him help people so much since I've been in the Paizo family. I love it. I'm glad we got to hear what happened during that--I saw him carrying a plate of food, had no clue what actually happened. ;o) This post is awesome and another CHEER to Jeff! ;oD Paizo's products are outstanding and it'd be pretty hard to beat how great they treat their fans/friends AND employees!
Ed, those pictures are super amazing, and you are way more brave than I! A lot of these feel really friendly and warm and like you were engaged with each person you photographed. Well done! :)

Thank you so very much for sharing this story. Very meaningful. My respect for Paizo went up a thousand notches and it was already at the top.
My thanks, to each one of you.I'm glad that I got to share the story! :D
... and another great part? It was an *awesome* bacon-cheesburger!! It had that really thick-cut bacon on it! ;-)

Yep, this is just another example of why Paizo is a very different kind of company with very genuine people working for it. Thank you for sharing this story. We need to make a bigger deal out of the good things people do in the world.
Did anyone happen to get a video or audio of the Rules Q&A?
Somebody did, but I don't know who it was. It was a good piece. One of my favorites, that and the Rules Development one... but can't talk about that one! ;)
Ed, I'm a A/V Tech, V1 specifically and can handle and HD camera no problem if you need an operator next year. Hit me up. I'm planning on volunteering and suggesting things like more mics. I can set and operate them and did so a couple times when they had issues.

Had a talk with Erik, today, and hope that next year I can help with the pre-show scouting so we can get truly awesome A/V coverage. (Not that this year wasn't good...)
