So...how did your character become a Pathfinder? Did they approach you or did you approach them? Field commission, perhaps?

(Also, are there any scenarios intended to allow for this? For the transition, I mean - a first-level scenario for non-Pathfinders to become Pathfinders.)

The Fallen Fortress is an adventure for non-Pathfinders that offers to become Pathfinders.

The first steps already assume you are just starting out.

Crypt of the Everflame is for non-Pathfinders and assumes you are a young boy/girl just coming out of age in the town of Kassen. It allows at the end to get drawn into the Pathfinder Society via a local Pathfinder. Off course - this not being a Pathfinder Scenario but rather a module this is absolutely optional and doesn't necessarily include to join the Pathfinder Society - but rather to work for them.

In your second job - The Mask of the Living God - you are send by a Pathfinder to investigate.

Chronicles themselves tend to assume you are already a member. Doesn't make sense in a tier 1-5 to offer a 5th level 'to join'.

The First Steps series is designed for characters who are new and "in-training" to becoming Pathfinders.

Slight quibble: They've completed training and are getting their first assignments as Pathfinders.

True fact.
