Paizo Publishing Plans for Inner Sea?

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

As I've just stated in another post I am VERY new to Pathfinder (2012) and just addicted to the quality and the flavor of the Inner Sea World.

Has paizo stated what their production plans are for the Inner Sea World and the world beyond?

I've noticed that not every region is developed. Just this morning I was reading about Kyonin in The Inner Sea World Guide and noticed there is no Gazetteer, Map Folio, or Campaign Setting for it. Unless I missed it.

What are paizo's goals? Do they plan to focus on every area of The Inner Sea World? Are there plans to branch out beyond the Inner Sea? If so, what's the timeline?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

I think they plan to develop it organically.

We typically see a flurry of related products released in a given year, and that's how they flesh out some sections. Other sections are considered to be more "blank slate" areas that GMs can toy with, at least until they set an AP or a module there.

Kyonin is covered in the following books, not a complete list but the notable choices are as follows.
Campaign Setting: 88-89
Elves of Golarion: Pages 16-20
Inner Sea World Guide: Pages 94-97
Second Darkness AP (Part 5) A Memory of Darkness: Pages 48-59

Most of the information is of course overlapped but there should be enough to cover the basics on the area.

As for the goals, only time will tell what actually sees release although it has been mentioned that they would like to cover the remaining continents at some point. As Evil Lincoln points out there will always be some areas left underdeveloped since it is just good form to allow for GMs to have some open real estate to work with.

Setting releases tend to cluster around the AP line. If there's an AP set majorly in a country that doesn't have a setting book, it'll probably get one. (Legacy of Fire: Katapesh, Second Darkness: Into the Darklands, Kingmaker: Guide to the River Kingdoms, Serpent's Skull: Sargava, Carrion Crown: Ustalav). I haven't watched the Companion line as closely, but I imagine there's some overlap there too.

Thanks for all the info, everyone. The Wiki! I had not seen that until you posted it. The amount of material is a little overwhelming. Right now I'm most enjoying buying the Gazetteers and campaign settings just to "explore" The Inner Sea region. Fun! I'm not playing in a game so the adventure paths are not as appealing, although I have a couple of the first levels adventures. Now if I can just buy some time...

An interactive map that linked you to corresponding products by region, city, etc. would be a blast :) I'll go check out the Wiki.

Anyway, thanks paizo for the new addiction! ;)

If you're looking for more Golarion/Inner Sea material, ignoring the AP line is definitely a mistake. They're mostly adventure, true, but the articles in the back have some of the most in depth material on various places, organizations, deities, etc... that you're likely to find. They are also some of the best resources to have for when you do actually start running a game (a lot less useful if your going to be a player in someone elses game). Not only can you run the AP as written, you can mine them for monsters, NPC's, encounter maps, and plot ideas.

There's a breakdown as to what supplemental material is typically in each issue of the AP, but I can't remember how it runs ATM. I do know that the second issue of each always has an article about one of the gods of the setting, though, and the first issue usually has a mini-gazetteer on the location of the AP. Apart from the adventure itself, most of the articles are perfectly ok to read if you're a player in that AP, as well.

An interactive map like this?

OMG YES, a map exactly like that! Oh man, thank you you. This will probably eat up my Sunday night :)

And devil.in.mexico13, thank you for the AP tip. That's excellent advice. I have about 3 of them (and plan to get the first Serpent's Skull) that I have not yet read but I'll look into them some more.

To the map!

personally IMO and I'd love this if Pazio did it, is to make a Elven Kingdoms of Golarion.

This book would have Kyonin in it, with Iadara a little more detailed comeplete with a one page map of the city. Major npcs like the elf queen in it as well and a little more info on Greengold and the other cities

it would also detailed that Elven city in VArisia

It would also detail the elven cirty state over in Tian with map of its capital city, major npcs, details of major cities.

it would also contain historical, the elven deities and the name section.

it would not have to have any archtypes and elf/half-elf ( maybe drow too, hey dark elf) only prcs in it. although if it did, new ones please like one for the wasp queens....

more info on the snow caster elf villages/city/whatever...

what this hypothetical book would not see:
reprints of archtypes, feats, brightness seeker prc that are in other books.

same for one of the dwarven kingdoms of Golarion.....

I'd say one for hafling kingdoms and gnome kingdoms, but lets face it, if the halflings ever had one, they likely lost it gambling and the gnomes came over from the first world and dont require a gnome kingdoms of golarion... it would be gnome kingdoms of the first world....
