This is my first time at the con. I was wondering if it is customary to make characters for each game on our own, does the DM usually contact the players with some sort of guideline for creating them ahead of time, or are there pre-gen characters provided by the DM. I didn't see anything for any of the games that I got into.
I hope this makes sense, hehe. I will be able to create characters at the con, so that's not an issue, but would rather have them constructed before hand since I do have the time to do it.
You signed up for Pathfinder Society events. Welcome!
You have two options. One, play a pre generated character, there will be at least seven available (fighter, cleric, rogue, wizard, ninja, samurai, gunslinger). Option two is to create your own character. To do so, I would point you to the Pathfinder Society Guide to Organized Play (found to the left under the Pathfinder Society link or at http://paizo.com/pathfinderSociety). We have specific rules for creating your character you should become comfortable with and then bring your own. You can ask us specific questions over on the Pathfinder Society General boards.
Sorry for not elaborating more, I'm on a phone and long posts are hard.
One thing to note. Song of the Sea Witch requires you to have a 3rd level character. You can play it with a pregenerated character, but really it'll be more fun to sign up for another level one scenario and play your own character.
That was my main question, because obviously, my character won't be level 3 by the time I play that game. I guess once at the con there is chance to trade to another game, maybe I will try that. I will make a couple characters for it just in case, but I would prefer to play one that has some experience in the world and has some worldly possessions. :)
I didn't realize the way the Pathfinder Society games worked when I signed up. I tried to get in on some of the progression games, but they were all full by the time I registered.
I think the best course is to wait and see, for that game at least.
