Questions about Oracles with the Ancestral Weapon revelation

Rules Questions

First, I'll post the wording:

Ancestral Weapon (Su): You can summon a simple or martial weapon from your family’s history that is appropriate for your current size. You are considered proficient with this weapon. At 3rd level, the weapon is considered masterwork. At 7th level, 15th level, and 19th level, the weapon gains a cumulative +1 enhancement bonus. At 11th level, the weapon gains the ghost touch weapon property. You can use this ability for a number of minutes per day equal to your oracle level. This duration does not need to be consecutive, but it must be used in 1-minute increments. The weapon disappears after 1 round if it leaves your grasp.

When an oracle takes the Ancestral Weapon revelation, is he or she limited to that weapons the entire game? If so, by the wording above, would he or she gain proficiency with that weapon, or just the summoned version of it?

proficiency with the particular weapon summoned is how I read it. whether its your grandfathers longsword, or your great grand ancestors Scythe you determine when you use it.

Sovereign Court

It lacks text that read something along the lines of, "When you chose this revelation, choose one type of simple or martial weapon. With the chosen weapon you gain..." Without it saying something like that you should be able to use it to conjure up any kind of weapon you like that meets the requirements with every use of the ability.

Your GM may see it differently mind you.

You write up a family tree with a famous archer, spearman, swordsman etc - problem solved.

Or a Fighter who blew all his feats on Exotic Weapon Proficiencies, Martial Versatility and Martial Mastery...

Great grandfather's Ripsaw Glaive?

Only simple or martial no exotics. It's a decent ability. Unfortunately it would start sucking soon since the enhancement bonuses it gets are so staggered and late.

Liberty's Edge

What oracle mystery is this from?

Grand Lodge

Shield is a martial weapon.

does it take an action to summon it? if so, what sort?

Unless otherwise specified (in this case, it's not), it's a standard action.

I have a couple questions I would like to add:

1. Can a composite Longbow have its STR bonus as high as I like?
2. Can all of my ancestral weapons be made out of adamantine or whatever other material I desire?

I'm inclined to think "Yes".

TIA

1. Yes

2. Nope. The weapon doesn't say it's made out of any special material, so we err on the side of caution and say it's not. On top of that, it's only considered masterwork at level 3, but all adamantine weapons are considered masterwork. Since there's no mention of special materials anywhere in the ability, we can infer that it's not something that you can do.

but you could take the heirloom weapon trait too, and ACTUALLY have grandpappy's curmudgeon of doom walking stick!

I am thinking 2. should be yes as well. You get masterwork at 3rd but don't get +1 till 7th. The only difference between a longsword, a alchemical longsword, and a cold iron longsword is the GP cost.

2 is definitely a no.

What rule are you using to justify your answer? RAW I see nothing that prevents summoning any simple or martial weapon. As I see it by RAW an adamantine longsword is a masterwork longsword.
