- of up to level 4?

I think the answer is yes but I want to double check.

Sorry for the necromancy, but there was no answer, and I am curious about this too. I'd love to pick up a wand of Shillelagh.

I think spell completion is based off of your "spells access list", as in if you can complete the spell by casting it on your own then you can activate the completion item.

The way it is worded the single Druid spell he chowder would work for scrolls wands etc. The one spell he chooses is on his list for the day but is gone if he chooses a different one the next day.

Simple a service is no the whole Druid listisnt spells known for them.

I suppose the real question is: What happens if / can a Nirmathi Irregular choose a spell that he is not high enough level to cast? Such as a 7th level ranger choosing air walk?

I would personally rule "no" since the wording is that he may choose one druid spell and prepare it as if it were on the ranger spell list. If it instead said "may add a druid spell to the ranger spell list for that day" I would allow it to be done.

So I would say that he can only use spell trigger or spell completion items for spells that he has actually prepared that day. (Unless of course they also appear on the ranger spell list.) I realize that others may rule that you can add any druid spell of up to fourth level to your spell list - whether or not you can actually cast it - but I don't believe that to be the intention of the ability.

Spell Completion: This is the activation method for scrolls. A scroll is a spell that is mostly finished. The preparation is done for the caster, so no preparation time is needed beforehand as with normal spellcasting. All that's left to do is perform the finishing parts of the spellcasting (the final gestures, words, and so on). To use a spell completion item safely, a character must be of high enough level in the right class to cast the spell already.

If the ranger has prepared the spell that day, he should definitely be able to use that spell completion item.

Spell Trigger: Spell trigger activation is similar to spell completion, but it's even simpler. No gestures or spell finishing is needed, just a special knowledge of spellcasting that an appropriate character would know, and a single word that must be spoken. Spell trigger items can be used by anyone whose class can cast the corresponding spell. This is the case even for a character who can't actually cast spells, such as a 3rd-level paladin.

Again, if it's prepared that day he can cast it, so he can use the spell trigger item.

So no wand use until 4th level, as it's not added to the spell list permanently.
