Can we get more vanities?

Let's be honest, vanities are one of the more fun things players can have access to with PP, but some of them are kind of specific (owning a bar only adding to Profession: Bartender, for example. One might think that owning a bar would be a boon to "Preform: Stupid Bar Tricks" but nope!)

Titles, businesses, badges of honor, etc. All of these are really fun uses for PP that help prevent the standard "Let's hoard everything until I can afford a few Raise Dead spells" and since I see a lot of people around here asking if they can re-skin vanities to help with their profession, it does kind of seem like it'd be a fun thing to just toss a few more out there of. It's not like any of them are particularly game-breaking or in need of severe playtesting to balance out.

Come on, let's show some love for the roleplayers who want to spend their prestige on stupid fluffy things! :)

NOooooo.. i need to save up for my inevitable brush with the afterlife. Not get more sweet sweet flavor...

We'll likely do more vanities in the future, but don't currently have an announced product on the schedule where they'd fit. Keep an eye out, though, as I agree that they're something we could totally expand on more if the right opportunity to do so comes along.

I think access to vanities could be a great option for boons, whether they are holiday boons, convention boons, or even just something that appears on a chronicle sheet.

Glad to hear there's some in the theoretical pipelines! I'd still love to see a rapidly FAQed vanity that allowed businesses and other vanities to be re-flavored to various perform/profession checks as long as they don't provide overlapping bonuses.

+1 To this. I hope by year 5 there is a lot more that we can spend prestige on that will further more role play.

[sarcasm]No more Vanities please.

I mean I can only afford to spend so much, and if you add more I'll never have any PP to spend on spells, and wands, and etc.[/sarcasm]

Seriously I love vanities. My porter is awesome, and not just the porter that my Tavern serves, the porter that carries all my clothes and travel gear is cool too.

You're so vain...

It's true, Carly Simon even wrote a song about it...

I'd love more variance in the spell-like abilities that the Wayfinder provides. I carry my own light, and I won't judge folks if they're evil or not. I want my Wayfinder to be able to cast... Snapdragon Fireworks!

Grand Lodge 4/5

I'd also love a magnetized Wayfinder that can draw in palm-sized metal objects from 30 feet away! That'd be niche!

And a Wayfinder that can be activated to become a Returning +1 Shuriken?

And a Wayfinder that can emit a tiny heatray to heat undercooked Absalom street food?

And a Cayden Cailean tinkered Wayfinder that can Detect Alcohol.

And a Wayfinder that has an inbuilt mirror that can magically and perfectly apply a range of lipstick to the owner.

And a Wayfinder for Halflings and Gnomes that can fire a precision point grappling hook to the distance of 60 ft, and gives a +4 ranged attack bonus on throwing a grappling hook to secure a rope.

And a Wayfinder that can record one sentence and play it back repeatedly, until the recording is replaced with another sentence.

I want a Wayfinder that has a 10% chance of vibrating gently when a surprise attack is about to occur, and thus is dubbed the nickname 'spidey sense'.

I want an Iconographer Wayfinder that grants a +4 Knowledge Religion skill bonus to identify the icons and symbols of various religions.

I want a Herbologist Wayfinder that grants a +4 Knowledge Nature skill bonus to identify mundane and magical herbs and immediately lets you know when you're putting too much garlic in your Italian food.

I want a Wayfinder that can emit a non-audible, high-pitched whistle that has a 5% chance to attract any dinosaurs within a kilometre.

I want a Wayfinder that can fart out an Obscuring Mist once a day.

In short, I want a Wayfinder that can do anything but cast light.

If you create a library boon, that costs a bunch of PA, but grants you a bonus on any sort of knowledge check, I'll be overjoyed. Damocles *NEEDS* a library to retire to someday, or else he'll haunt the halls of the Grand Lodge, hassling initiates on why they don't know about something it takes a DC 40 knowledge check to know....

I kind of wish they'd just put out a monthly list of new vanities, maybe retire some old ones from previous lists as an incentive to buy buy buy!

Spoiler:
... If you make this, I know of a particular Dragon Disciple that a particular Librarian will never be able to rein in the drunken debauchery, so for the sake of that poor Elf's sanity, please don't...

Really, anything on that list would be fun. I can think of all sorts of other little fun things that different wayfinders could do that would be just one more way to have something fun and entertaining.

One that could do Prestidigitation.

One that could do Message.

An intelligent one that has a 25% chance of alerting you of awkward social situations about to occur, a 25% chance of alerting you that someone is interested in you, and a 50% chance of imposing a penalty to charisma checks during said situations if you don't appease it with a strange little dance.

Like I said, all sorts of fun things things.

Shouldn't it fart out a Stinking Cloud? It can have special rules so that it follows the wayfinder at all times

This one already exists :)

As an add on, but not really a vanity, I would love to be able to spend 4-6 prestige points to be able to swap out a non prerequisite feat for another non prerequisite feat.

Say Rapid Reload [Pistols] for Rapid reload [Double Pistol]

Because I hate that I took Rapid Reload [Pistol] for my first character without thinking ahead. I would love to have a way to fix a mistake like that.

i don't like the idea of retiring vanities. What if someone new to the game comes in and the vanity is perfect for their character?

There is a Convention Boon floating around that gives you a free vanity of 5 PP or less from the Society Field Guide.

Well, to be fair it's like any other vanities that cost PP. Even if it's perfect for their character, they're still going to need to fight for it. I think the trick is to keep the vanities as vanities, not "you get access to a whole bunch of special stuff nobody else does."
