Been working on this idea for a base class for a while now. Gonna suck it up and put it out for people to see. :) Lemme know what you think

Wandering Artist

Aww, nothing?

I only skimmed so I can't fully speak to balance. But for flavor and "oh man, I want to try that," wow. Nicely done. This class has some very cool stuff going on, it seems very well thought-out and in depth.

I tell you in all honesty that this is one of the most creative homebrew classes that I have ever seen. It isn't derivative like most classes that get put here. Don't be discouraged if you don't get a lot of comments. You have a good thing going here!

Thanks. :) Just a little (and I think understandably) nervous, as it's the first real thing I've tried to make for the game.

I just took a look at this class - very creative, a bit of bard a bit of a few other things. The techniques and disciplines are awesome...
I also like the way you made some practical options - harpoons out of bones, origami familiars etc.... Very nicely done...

Added Brewing and Basketry as disciplines.

So freaking cool, I love this for personal reasons.

Oh gods. This is really, really cool. My personal favorites are the brewer (beer-fueled golems? oh just count me in!) and the origamist (folding the fabric of space is just nuts).
This is probably the first time I've loved a non-archetype base class this much. Thanks!

I'm currently working on splitting textile-making and tailoring (for some reason the original version had meshed the two of these together) and adding an alchemical photography discipline. Considering trying to do something to do with architecture, too. Does anybody have a suggestion for other new disciplines?

Interpretive Dance?

:P Somehow I think interpretive dance falls under the purview of the bard.

Shot you a private message.

This is sweet, a lot to read though, so I haven't gone through in detail. Definitely an awesome idea! And good work putting out all this content. :)

Hmm... What about calligraphers? Woodcarver? Confectionist? Gearwright?

Confectionist! I love it.

I've been trying to figure out calligrapher for a while, and I've been having an internal debate as to whether a woodcarver would be different enough from the sculptor that's already there...

Confectionist! I love it.

I'd imagine the confectionist would have a lot of emotion-related abilities, considering the effect his candies and treats have on others. (And if you want to be silly, you could give them the Leadership feat for the purposes of recruiting singing gnomes, HAH!)

As for Calligrapher, remember that it isn't so much what they right as how what they write looks. So I'd reccomend Symbol, glyph, sidgle, and rune spells, maybe even scribe scroll or some abilities from the painter set, (Think chinese calligraphy!)

As for woodcarver... on the one hand, their abilities have nothing to do with stone, on the other, basketweaver has lots of planty abilities already.

Although, if I did woodcarver, I could use totem poles and such for inspiration... I really can't say no to a new discipline for this class for some reason. :P

Surprisingly good. I like the work put into the techniques.

I'll be honest I skipped to the meat of it and read with the assumption that this was a 3/4 BAB and 6th casting class.

I'm not sure I really like it that much as half BAB and 9th level (especially with such a short list). I think you could reduce some spell levels and make longer lists to pick from if it were bard/summoner/alchemist style.

Those are just my thoughts, anyhow.

Oh no, you've discovered my greatest weakness! It's hard for me to really break down how spellcasting should work when I work on this sort of thing. Not sure which way would be best, honestly. But you're right, the spell list is pretty limited... hm...

Grand Lodge

issues: Brewing & basket weaving, how does basket weaving or craft brewing help you in survival? Brewing sure to resist poisons or identify them, but not for the whole thing.

Actually all those artistic skills that use in craft skill in place of survival need re thinking or at least describe what part of the survival skill they replace or help with.

This is the first thing I saw. Reading the rest now.

Grand Lodge

artistic skill for textiles should be disguise instead of slight of hand, doesn't really fit to me.

Painter/Tattooist/Origami - lend to be my favorites.

You are absolutely correct. I've changed around some of the crafting skills.

I noticed that this class had been "embraced" by LRGG, does anyone know what kind of changes were made, or if there was any changes at all?

There weren't any enormous changes made. Mostly editing and rebalancing some stuff. I highly encourage you to check it out. :)

This homebrew class is amazing. Tons of flavor (darn, people already credited you for that) like holy comoly can art be deadly.

You should do a "Theater" disipline, it may be similar to writer, but i imagine it with stuff like mindcontrol, luck altering with a pinch of deception or disquise based abilities.
(Powerwords, safe bound, mark of forbbidance/justice, gease, disquise self, foresight, heroism, "Daylight"? **cough** more like, spotlight **cough**)

And there can be many possibilites with the capstone (especially the cool names like, "Grand finalle" or something).
