Rules Questions

Pack Tactics (Ex): At 8th level, as a free action on your turn, you can designate an adjacent square; your attacks are treated as coming from that square for the purposes of determining whether or not you are flanking (this applies even if that square is occupied by an object or creature). This ends at the start of your next turn or if you move. If you are flanking a creature without using this ability, you may add your Wisdom bonus to your attack roll rather than the normal +2 flanking bonus. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Wisdom modifier.

I don't understand the text. Does this mean that I apply my wisdom modifier when flanking, and can only use this ability 3 + wisdom modifier times per day, and can determine the square I can flank from any number of times per day or is it the other way around?

You can use Pack Tactics 3+WisMod times per day.

It doesn't matter how you use it, either to gain flanking when you normally wouldn't, or to gain a possibly higher bonus than flanking would normally grant.

-edit- IMO.

I think the whole thing is 3+ wisdom per day, whether you are using it to create a flanking opportunity, or to enhance your attack roll.

Oh. I see, the "without using this ability" bit is only there to imply that I can't use them both at the same time, not to exclude any of them from the uses per day.

This is how I read it:

If you're flanking the "traditional" way (i.e. on opposing sides of the enemy), you get a bonus to your attack roll equal to your Wisdom modifier, instead of the standard +2 flanking bonus.

Instead of a "traditional" flank, however, you can pick a square adjacent to the one you're standing in. It doesn't matter what's in the square (a wall, my grandmother, etc.). For the purposes of flanking, if someone stands on the opposing side of that square you just picked, you will get a +2 flanking bonus.

Regardless of which option you pick, you have to state that you're using this ability at the start of the round. Whatever option you chose will stand until the beginning of the next round, or until you move.

I had a question with regards to some PFS rules.

Since the wolf domain was printed after wolf shaman. Do you think (nearly all) GM's would allow me to take the wolf domain as a wolf shaman?
