Nurpus |
Nurpus, startled by the Bart-in-a-box, fires wildly in Bart's general direction.
Taking -10 to the shot for not aiming first.
attack: 1d20 + 11 - 10 ⇒ (7) + 11 - 10 = 8
"AAAAGH STUPID BART. YOU SCARE PURPUS!"
Mugmuff Darktalon |
Mugmuff, who is a sneaky ninja and never startled or surprised by anything, only jumps about 3 feet in the air at Bart-in-the-box's surprise. He rolls his eyes moves forward up the hallway... muttering something about the nature of Bart's parentage.
Burnclaw Stirgeater |
"AAAAHHHH WHY YOU DO THAT STOOPID HEAD??"
After berating Bart, Burnclaw bursts through the door on the left down the hallway.
Creatures inside the room: Fort save DC 15 or stunned for the surprise round and 1 round thereafter, if they make the save instead they're shaken for rounds: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Bart Bighead |
Bart ducks back in the box, avoiding being shot by his fellow goblin and beginning to rethink his surprising them plan.
He'll console Nurpus on his miss, give some inane and useless tips on aiming and follow along.
Kigaar Wolftooth |
kovak has a good laugh at the surprise and continues down the hall
GM Captain Trips |
Burnclaw, unhappy with Bart for playing tricks, sets his anger to work against one of the doors in the hall, bashing it open and finding himself in a large room. A stone fireplace sits in the northwestern portion of this chamber. Paintings hang on the walls to the north and south, each covered over with a thick sheet of dusty cobwebs that obscures its subject from view. Other than that the room appears remarkably empty with the exception of another pair of doors on the opposite side of the chamber. This room appears to be a little less impacted by the overall rot and mildew as the rest of the manor, yet the stink still hangs in the air.
There are three large paintings on the northern wall and five paintings on the southern wall.
Burnclaw Stirgeater |
Seeing nothing useful, Burnclaw continues his carnage on the set of double doors in the room.
Same as before, DC 15 Fort or stunned, success means shaken for rounds: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Bart Bighead |
Bart will grab the second painting off the wall and try and push the cobwebs away so that he can see the picture.
GM Captain Trips |
Grabbing the picture down from the wall, Bart wipes away the thick cobwebs to find himself staring down at a stern-faced brunette woman with wisps of gray in her short hair, wearing a flowing blue dress. Fairly comely by human standards, she's not much of a looker in the eyes of a goblin. Maybe if her ears were bigger and her eyes a bit beadier and bloodshot. And a mustache, she could definitely use a mustache for sure.
Torch checks one of the hallway doors and finds it happily unlocked.
Is everyone else just standing in the hallway picking boogers?
Nurpus |
Nurpus wipes away his booger. As he looks up and notices everyone is in the next room, he quickly trundles into the corner and leans against the wall, hoping no one noticed.
He maintains his lookout for danger.

Mugmuff Darktalon |
Mugmuff sneaks over to see what's going on in the nearest, slips inside and searches... (if that means opening a door, he'll check for traps first)
perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Bart Bighead |
Bart, not impressed by the looks of the painting decides to try eating it instead.
GM Captain Trips |
I'll try to break this down accordingly.
Burnclaw, furious at the fast that there are so many doors in this place, crashes through yet another barrier, finding himself stopping and gathering his balance in another large room. The furniture in this bedroom, while dusty and unkempt, does not exhibit any major signs of water or mold damage. The one exception is a dark stain on the desk near the northern window. Flaking bits of mold peel away from the stained walls and leave the room with the familiar smell of rot and decay. In the other room, Bart gnaws greedily upon the dusty portrait, but finds the flavor most disagreeable and coughs and spits as he finds the painting inedible.
Opening the door, you find yourself looking into a dark hallway that turns at a corner, leading further into the darkness.
This large room features two padded chairs and a long couch facing a wide alcove lined with stained glass windows. These windows depict a diverse array of animals and plants. From north to south are a large pale and ghostly scorpion, a gaunt man holding out his arms as a dozen bats hang from him, a moth with a strange skull-like pattern on its wings, a tangle of dull green plants with bell-shaped flowers, and a young maiden sitting astride a well in a forest while a spindly spider the size of a dog descends along a string of webbing above her.
Bart Bighead |
Bart takes the other pictures down and wipes them off, hoping that they are pictures of tastier things.
Mugmuff Darktalon |
Mugmuff searches the room, ignoring the ugly colored glass windows for now... though he likes some of the pictures... spiders and bats and scorpions, they mean nothing to him.
perc to search: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
If there's nothing there, he'll move on to the door to the northeast.
Burnclaw Stirgeater |
Burnclaw looks around the room for anything other than the yucky mold.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Bart Bighead |
Figuring anything has to taste better than the first painting, Bart begins eating the second one regardless f what it depicts.
GM Captain Trips |
Burnclaw searches the room closely, trying to find something of value in this disgusting place. Moving to the table he spies something that catches his eye.
From the other room, Bart takes down the paintings and wipes them off, looking for one with a possible better flavor than the first while Nurpus keeps a lookout. Just as Bart picks up a painting of a fancy looking man in formal attire the two notice that the mold on the walls is beginning to expand very rapidly. Soon it explodes into a fury of fungus which quickly envelops everything in the room, causing the goblins to shriek in startled amazement. The mass of fungus and rot seems to leave Bart completely untouched, but Nurpus is quickly surrounded.
Nurpus, startled but not completely distracted, notices Burnclaw in the other room, picking up a long shard of wood and slowly raising it to his throat, a wild maniacal look in his eyes.
Mugmuff searches the room to the east but comes up empty handed, and moves back to the hallway to hear towards the northern door when he hears the shriek from the western room.
Following the stairs down you discover they end in a door, which opens to the lower hallway with the rope hanging from the wall and the room with the stuffed creature to the west.
You feel a huge pang of guilt for something you have done which overcomes you. You quickly realize that you have killed the one that you love the most, and life is not worth living at this point. Spotting a dagger on the desk you decide that ending your life is the only solution.

Bart Bighead |
Bart, knowing that his big head allowed him perfect positioning to avoid the fungus stands tall and looks proud, before shrieking and feeling from the horrible mushrooming monster.
Mugmuff Darktalon |
Mugmuff moves closer to the source of the shriek to see who/where it came from... When he sees the expanding fungus, he backs up and pulls out an alchemist fire.
Kigaar Wolftooth |

Burnclaw Stirgeater |
Burnclaw suddenly feels for some reason that he's been a horrible, dog-loving, horse-humping goblin, and that dog-loving, horse-humping horrible goblins need to die. "Goobyes, world!" he proclaims, and starts raising the "knife" to his own throat. Someone stop him! LOL
GM Captain Trips |
Hey, I gave everyone a fair opportunity to assist. Damn goblins! :P
As the room explodes into fungus and mushrooms, Bart and Mugmuff shriek in dismay as Nurpus appears covered in the foul corruption. He stumbles around for a few moments, a walking mushroom monster of doom, before the scene returns to normal a few seconds later, not a single bit of evidence that the fungus infestation ever occurred. The goblins turn their attention to the far room, where Burnclaw holds the jagged piece of wood. Time seems to slow almost to a crawl as the burly goblin raises the improvised weapon to his throat and draws a deep line across his neck with it, blood surging forward from the wound and quickly covering his torso as his lifeblood pumps out of him in steady beats. His burly form (for a goblin) slumps to the ground, the wooden shard tumbling out of his hand to rest upon the ground just out of his reach...
And so we bid farewell to Burnclaw, who was with us only for a short time, a victim to one of the more foul haunts of the manor.
After the fungus dies down you check yourself to make sure you are in one piece, and notice that your arms and hands are covered in angry, bulging pustules and sores and splotches of mold seem to be covering your skin in areas.

Nurpus |
"Gross. Burnclaw explodeds all over me. Not even good gross either. This why they warn gobbos not to kill selfs? Gobbos explode when self-killed? NURPUS DIES ONLY IN BATTLE. BATTLE WITH PURPUS! BATTLE WITH LONGSHANKS! BATTLE With... Wait, does that mean his stuff is up for grabs? I claim his stirges. Stingy burnclaw never shareded."
Mugmuff Darktalon |
Mugmuff makes a disgusted face and backs away from the exploding fungus... then spots the falling remains of Burnclaw as he is dropping to the ground, blood gushing from his neck wound.
"Why he do that? Stupid Gobbo... and me like him too... stupid stupid gobbo..."
He makes a face and shrugs at Nurpus... "That was the shrooms 'sploding, not Burny..."
Bart Bighead |
Bart slowly backs away from the fungus and exploded goblin...
"Bart beginning to suspect more to house than meets the eye."
Kigaar Wolftooth |
Kovak backs up.."hangs on do ye thinks pimple butt sends ye here's tos die..." Kovak must clearly be up set as he dose no speak in his bad rhymes
sorry did not think killing ones self was on the table...I thought it was a joke....

Minimaster Torch |
Emerging from the staircase and back upstairs, Torch wanders into the room wherein the explosion occurred. "Who butt-blowed?" he asks, holding his nose. When he sees the corpse of Burnclaw, he remarks, "This why never light butt-blows."
Kigaar Wolftooth |
With the Crack from torchy seems to wake kovak up with a small song in his rotted hart "well that's the last we saw of burntclaw, next room then let's go then...ehheee"

Mugmuff Darktalon |
Mugmuff takes a moment to strip Burny of anything valuable before moving on to follow Kovak.
GM Captain Trips |
Kovak and Mugmuff head off down the hallway, moving up to the door to the northwest and checking it for any signs of tomfoolery. Stating the door is clear, Mugmuff backs away and lets Kovak step into the room. The room was obviously once a bedroom, complete with a large bed and cobblestone fireplace, however it has obviously succumbed to whatever weird forces have invaded the manor. The entire bedroom is caked with a thick, spongy layer of dark green, blue, and black mold.
From somewhere inside the room you hear a child’s voice, quivering with fear, ask, “What’s on your face, mommy?”

Bart Bighead |
Bart will go follow Kovak and Muggy, worried about more butt-blows Bart keeps his distance though.
Kigaar Wolftooth |
Kovak grins "Come here baby come and play and weess make goods stew with you to day"
GM Captain Trips |
Sensing no other actions...let the pain begin!
Kovak giggles madly for a moment, speaking something the other goblins can barely make out. A wild look comes over his face as he begins slobbering at the mouth and cackling like mad. He raises his clawed hands to his face, nails exposed, and digs in deep into the flesh just above his eyes. Then, with a slowly painful motion, drags his fingers down his face, carving deep furrows of split and mangled skin down his cheeks and to his chin. Looking down at his bloodied hands he cackles like a loony.
Kovak takes 1 point of damage, and 4 points of charisma damage
