Event trading

PaizoCon General Discussion

I'm currently in the games Reality and Other Lies (Sat morning) and MinionQuest (Sat afternoon), and I'm trying to get into From Hell's Heart I Stab at Thee (Sat morning) to join my friends. I've posted both trades.

So my question is, what happens if my MinionQuest for Hell's Heart trade is accepted? I'd then have two events in the same time slot?

Then you would have a conflict and would risk losing your slot in both events.

So there's no way for me to propose the MinionQuest for Hell's Heart trade safely? I'd be happy to lose both MinionQuest and Reality for Hell's Heart, but not if I end up with nothing.

For that matter, what about conflicts between open events and lotteried events? Say I registered for a PFS slot on Friday morning, but got a trade such that I got a lotteried event on Friday morning. What happens then?

It's your responsibility to avoid scheduling yourself into more than one event at the same time, same as if you checked two boxes for the same slot from the signup page.

So you're saying basically that if I want to get a trade for a certain slot, I absolutely should not have anything -- even an open event -- already in that slot. Correct?

If that's the case, maybe this should be clarified somewhere. I did not think this was at all clear.

This is the first time I've attended Paizocon. I've won two lottery events and I want to trade one of my events to my boyfriend for one of his lottery events in the same time slot. Can we trade our events between us and how do we do the trade.

My girlfriend has won a lottery event that I would like to attend in her place. Is it possible for her to gift the ticket to me directly or can I simply attend in her place? Are there actual physical tickets so that she could give hers to me or do we have to risk losing the ticket to somebody else through the free-for-all online trading system?

BTW: Is there any information I can read to explain how the online trading system works?

We have never attended lottery events before this year and are wondering; for example, if she is unable to attend one of her lottery events, can she just give me her ticket?

Also, is there a maximum number of lottery events I can attend? (She has two events and I have two events)

I've seen people hand off tickets before, but if you want it to be official, here's what to do.

First, you sign up for an open event, any event. Something as undesirable as possible.

Then, you propose a trade that no one would accept--to give your undesirable open event in order to obtain your gf's lotteried event.

Finally, your gf goes to the event trading page and accepts this trade (and she the dumps your open event).

During at least one past Paizocon, there was a last-minute drop-out bin, where people who decided not to attend events could leave tickets they weren't using so random other people could go dumpster diving for tickets.

So presumably, exchanging physical tickets with someone you know is no big deal. For events, the number of attendees should be more important than exact identity of any given attendee.

That's good news Epic Meepo! I'm new to Pathfinder and this will be my first PaizoCon. Unfortunately I messed up on the event lottery and have an event I don't think I'm qualified for. It wants Veterans. I'd gladly trade it for a low level event! It's Race to Hell's Gate Friday 7pm-12am. I have a window from 1pm-12am open, so hopefully I can get a trade.
