Is "Precocious Spellcaster" Legal?

Pathfinder Society® General Discussion

Hey all.

So there is a trait in a book called "Pathfinder Player Companion: Taldor, Echoes of Glory" that I would like to take.

Before I order in the book can someone tell me if it is legal?

Under the additional resorces page it says....

Spoiler:
Pathfinder Player Companion: Taldor, Echoes of Glory Equipment: all equipment on pages 26–27; Feats: all feats on pages 28–29 with
the exceptions of Master of the Ledger and Taldan Knight (reduce all skill rank
requirements by –3 to a minimum of 1); Spells: all spells on pages 24–25; Traits:
all traits on pages 13–14 (note that Divine Warrior should read “Your damaging
divine spells gain a +1 trait bonus to damage” and Militant Merchant applies
to Perception checks and the Perception skill); Prestige Class: Lion Blade
(decrease all skill rank requirements by –3)

Unfortunetly I am not sure if the trait I'm after is part of "Traits:
all traits on pages 13–14"

Any help would be great.

Thank you.

Precocious Spellcaster is on page 13 of the book, so it is legal for PFS.

Thank you,

I will order it tonight.

Thank you (still relevant for us in the 4.2 Guide dated 26th September 2012).

Heh. I wound up using this trait, along with Gifted Adept, for my Magus. Yeah, a bit cheesy. then again, so is a Yeti as a BBEG at sub-tier 1-2.

Spoiler:
+10 to hit at that level means that most PCs get hit more often than not. My PC, with Mage Armor active, only had an AC of 18, after all. And it gets two attacks, and does enough damage per attack (1d4+6+1d6 cold)that my PC would probably have been dead, not dying, on two hits. 15 hp, Con 12. 2.5+6.3.5=12 average, 24 on two hits.

When our GM did his first attacks on a PC with the Yeti, the PC target got hit twice, for a total of 27 points of damage, which left him at 2 points from dead, where my PC would have been outright dead. Just for amusement, he failed the first stabilization roll, but the cleric channeled for a whole 4 points of healing, which didn't wake him up, but did stabilize him.

Haven't used the benefit of the second trait, yet, but my Magus only reached third level on Sunday, so he won't need it until he hits 5th level, and starts using an Intensified Shocking Grasp for 6d6 damage.

Magical lineage might be a better bet...lets it be metamagic-ed and result in a lower spell level. AKA all your shocking grasps will be intensified. Just saying ;)
