I went for the $75 level. Psyched about PFO, and frankly the rewards are a pretty darn good value for the cash in themselves.

Hopefully there will be other ways for us to continue to show support for GoblinWorks as the project moves further along.

If the food is green and has sharp pointy teeth, well at least you know their names! lol

I know what you mean. I have a feeling I will rock back and forth holding the bag repeating my precious.

What? Goblins will not feed you longshanks! To arms my fellow goblin brethren! We must destroy them with fire! Lots of fire!

No FLAG to your post, it's too bad.

Goblins chew and goblins bite.

Goblins cut and goblins fight
Stab the dog and cut the horse,
Goblins eat and take by force!

Goblins race and goblins jump.
Goblins slash and goblins bump.
Burn the skin and mash the head,
Goblins here and you be dead!

Chase the baby, catch the pup.
Bonk the head to shut it up.
Bones be cracked, flesh be stewed,
We be goblins! You be food!

I started off at $75 on opening day but there was just no way I could pass up the $100.00.

I will also say that if I had $5000.00 sitting around there is no way that last spot would have been open. Still do what you can.

Now to wait for the goodies and "THE LOOK" from the wife when they get here. *sigh* well I guess she has to find out sometime.

Casts Dancing Lights for proper party lighting!

Dark Archive Goblin Squad Member

nah... the wife is quite decent about my hobbies. So long as it is only taken out of my hobby allowance.

Hell, she spent that today on hair, nails, manicure and pedicure. May have been more who knows that was her allowance.

Now if I break down and buy the next minis set I will need chocolate, flowers, and probably have to paint the bedroom, living room, and kids rooms like she has been wanting me to do.

Still soooooo tempting.

I should formally introduce myself -

My name's John. I went with the $50- level because I'm (a) trying to finish up a PhD career at 39 and (b) shopping for an engagement ring. I'm sure my better half would understand if I blew $250- on this but I can't justify that in this day an age. However, in my heart I'm in at the 5K level.

I've played a mess of MMOs from UO to Eve to WoW. At this point all I play is CoH. I've been on there since the mid-to-late beta back in 2004. I love CoH, but it still doesn't compare to good ole d20 fantasy roleplaying.

Roleplaying-wise I started with the red-box BDnD and 1st Edition. I still have my gold books (they look nicer on the shelves than the previous printing, so I collected them. Stupid Fiend Folio never got a gold spine though lol). So it's not surprising that when DnD went to 4.0 I went to Pathfinder. And I have been incredibly impressed ever since.

I've got a lot of faith in PF and GW. Their enthusiasm is contagious. I'm looking forward to seeing what they make of the money they've been given and whether they can live up to their ambitious schedule. And I'll also join all those people in agreeing that the schedule is nice but game quality comes first.

I don't know how a persistent world sandbox fantasy MMO would work out. I always liked playing the lone wizard in a tower. I will be eternally grateful if I could recreate that here - taking contracts, designing magic items, making a tidy profit. We'll see. If anyone has a decent chance of making that happen - it's these folks.

Good luck goblinworks :)

Hi John/Hewhocaves! Thanks for dreaming outload with the rest of us! As a kid who opened the wonder box from TSR, I'm always excited when there are things that bring back that same excitement. Hoping this will.

Well there is no REAL way to know for sure but I would like to point out that in such a game this is most likely very doable but not optimal. However if you were a 'lone' wizard -that was part of a major guild and was one of their major wondrous item manufacturers- I think you would be golden. In sandbox MMO's you can go solo for sure but if you got people on your side you can move mountains...of inventory. (/cough RoA 104)

15 bucks for a .pdf sourcebook and five-level dungeon by some of my favorite writers is a steal even if I never play the MMO at all.

I was intending to do the $15 pledge, but I upped to $30 once the maps became available. It's gonna be awesome!!

@Hewhocaves brings up a good thread. "What was your entry into PnP games?" Does that thread already exist? For me it all happened in 1977. I got the BDnD box with the Dragon cover (still have it) and i also bought my first issue of Dragon Magazine, issue 27 with the awesome knight on the cover. Then my brother brought an ODnD Whitebox with the Greyhawk supplement home during one of his visits from college and left it for me when he returned (still have that also). I've been a Greyhawk loving, DnD collector ever since. I'm proud to say, I've been lucky enough to fill the holes in my collection over the years through all editions and continued my love for DnD through collecting as it become harder and harder to find time to play. Eventually Eberron hit and then 4E, and then Paizo sent an email stating that my Dragon and Dungeon subscriptions were going to be terminated, BUT they had this new world called Pathfinder and since I was a subscriber I could opt to receive Pathfinder materials in lieu of magazines and then continue my subscription. BRILLIANT MOVE PAIZO! I read through the first adventure and it felt like my beloved Greyhawk, which was refreshing especially since Eberron recently put robots in my DnD errrr. I've been a Pathfinder faithful ever since and for the first time since 1977 stopped collecting DnD while choosing to continue my ongoing Pathfinder subscription. Pathfinder also got me back into actually playing again rather than just collecting. I started a video game tools company a short time ago and wanted to find something that could help "break the ice" among this newly formed team...hey look what just arrived at the studio...the Pathfinder box set. AWESOME TIMING PAIZO! When the Kickstarter was announced I knew I had to pony up a an honorable pledge to thank Paizo as well as Goblinworks for all they've done for me and for the team here at MoonTech.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

first PnP... i believe it was DnD but could have been star wars WEG first plays for both where very close together actually my only early PnP gaming experience early on and none of it lasted more than 2-3 sessions i was a kid i did a horrible job and i loved it.. it would be something like 6 years or more before i got another taste.. and i had to make a group out of non players i collected the d&d 3.0 books but didn't start playing till 3.5 due to lack of a group don't have anything earlier hated the very concepts on which 4e was founded heard of pathfinder and here i be with a shiny new book to look forward to and an mmo in the future i beleive i found my path :D
