White Wolf's website lists nothing for future releases, and I haven't heard anything elsewhere?

Does anyone else know something about this>

White Wolf is on the verge of bankruptcy or very close to it. So at the moment, all bets are off.

Yes, they've had some bad years. in 2009 they were bought by Ryan Dancey's company. I don't know what if anything Dancey's doing with the property. So actually the White Wolf you knew, ceased to exist long ago.

Here's an interview with Ryan Dancey concerning White Wolf (well, there's 1 question about White Wolf at the very end).

Actually, some corrections:

White Wolf was bought by CCP, an Icelandic video game company famous for EVE Online. Ryan Dancey was brought on the team to help facilitate the acquisition, but he's no longer a CCP employee.

Since there's no White Wolf anymore as a separate company, it's all about CCP now (think Hasbro-WotC). CCP is doing fine. White Wolf is an RPG pen-n-paper imprint with a few permanent staff and most of the books done by freelancers (think Paizo, but much smaller).

The nWoD line didn't enjoy as much success as WW/CCP wished, so currently they are re-releasing oWoD material, starting with a 20th anniversary core rulebook for Vampire: Masquerade.

Never been a WoD fan, but I have to say, that sucks! I have a lot of friends who love White Wolf. I hope they pull it out.

The franchise will carry on in one form or another. The brand is important and invoking within the roleplaying community, having a good amount of fan support. Even if the rights get sold, someone will want them. I'd except to see a third way sometime within the next five or so years.

They seem to be moving into crowd funding fairly heavily too, see the kickstarters related to V20

They are also still working a WoD MMO, focusing initially on Vampires and then branching out from there. They game's been in development for years now, but every year or so they come out with a few updates, so it looks like it's still happening.

VtM was my first RPG experience ever, so WoD has always been a favorite for me. I was very disappointed with the nWoD, though the base system always had a lot of potential. It seemed like Justin Achilli was trying to fix some of the problems with the system (which was good) and then he threw that idea out the window and thought it would be a good idea to reintroduce all of those old problems right back into the system (the overabundance of Vampire bloodlines, for example). All in all it left a bad taste in my mouth, and I haven't bought or played White Wolf in years now.

I was really excited to see the 20th anniversary VtM core book, as I had initially heard that they were updating it to the new system but keeping all the old flavor, but unfortunately that wasn't the case (which is why it's a good idea to take anything convention vendors say with a pound or two of salt).

The 20th anniversary stuff is nice, but it really makes me hope that they're just using it to test the waters and maybe doing an old school series of books, or maybe a new system entirely, scrapping nWoD and doing something similar.

Altogether, though, it seems that White Wolf may go down as a great example of how not to do things in the TTRPG industry.

Some corrections to the corrections.

I was hired to be the Chief Marketing Officer in November of 2007. The acquisition happened in 2006 and was complete before I was hired. My job was to oversee the global sales & marketing of the company's MMO EVE Online and to prepare to market the upcoming World of Darkness MMO.

When I arrived at CCP White Wolf had already ceased to exist as a stand-alone entity. There was no White Wolf marketing department, no White Wolf accounting department, and no White Wolf publishing department. The tabletop gaming products the company was producing were being managed by folks who also had duties with other aspects of CCP's operations.

They have been coming out with new Stuff (not Much), they just don't Publish them anymore as a publisher, DriveThruRPG is their new Publisher.

Many of the stuff starts off as just PDFs but then moves to PoD.

You can see their new stuff here.

They also had a 2 Kickstarters both of them for V20

One is funded but you will still be able to get the PDF and PoD

V20 Companion Deluxe Edition

The other is still looking for funding

Children of the Revolution Deluxe for Vampire 20th

Egads. How many times does this anti-Ryan stuff have to get brought up only to get shot down repeatedly? This is getting embarassing to watch.

Shadow Lodge

They have a nWoD Mummy game scheduled to be released sometime this year.

I actually thought that White Wolf was awesome right up to the moment that they shut down their d20 System product lines and stopped selling the stuff I wanted to buy.

Thanks for the information Ryan.

I've never really understood the relationship between White Wolf and Sword and Sorcery Studios, but I really loved the 3e stuff, like Scarred Lands and would love to see that come back as PoD or see it get relaunched as Pathfinder.

Is S&SS owned by CCP or did it revert to someone else or get sold off?
