What is the Magus caster level progression?

Rules Questions

I'm somewhat confused as this is my first caster. All in all, I'm not sure if the Magus has 1/2 caster progression or full.

Can someone please explain?

Their caster level is equal to their class level in Magus

Thank you!

I'm sorry what is 1/2 caster progression because it sounds like spell increase every other lvl but I read threads that say the AA would benefit from 1/2 caster progression and I'm thinking that would nerf it more.

Please clarify.

Caster Level and Caster Progression mean different things.

Caster Level is usually equal to your class level in a spellcasting class. Sometimes, as in the case of the ranger and paladin, it is equal your level in a class minus some number.

Caster Progression usually means how fast a spellcasting class gets spells. Wizards, Druids, and Clerics have full progression. They get spells as fast as possible. People like Bards and Magi get 3/4 progressions and end up being able to only cast level 6 spells. The progressions aren't that standardized though; the sorcerer has to wait an extra level to get to the next level of spell than the wizard does, but is basically a full caster otherwise.

Edit: By "get" spells, I mean get access to them and slots to cast them.

ok so its basically what my group called full caster (9 levels), dabbler (6 levels), and secondary (4 levels).

So what the hell are they talking about AA getting half progression?
