I feel like I'm hitting a wall now. I found a marvellous amulet that would make most barbarians drool, but I'm only interested in a direct swap.
+230 strength
+111 vitality
+50 dex
+8% critical chance
+62% critical damage
I'd love to swap the Strength stat with the Dex stat. Maybe in the expansion? Or if a giant barbarian wants to trade.
The only slot I have that really needs an upgrade now is my belt. I feel the price barrier to find an Inna's Belt with all resist is probably extremely high. The chances of finding a Witching Hour with any defensive capabilities would also be really low.
I'm thinking of just purchasing a high armour belt with 150+ dex, 100+ vit, 70+ AR and being done with it.
Thinking of building up a top tier ruby instead to lock in my experience efficiency. I have around 200 squares and one upgraded star.
That might be one of the best amulets in the whole game, Kestler! Have you done a price comparison on the auction house?
Finding a decent belt with 150 dex is a total pain. Add vit and res all to the mix and you are definitely asking for a lot. My best is dex 126, vit +90, res fire 40 and res all 70. :P I usually end up not wearing it and wear my dex 90 vit 90 Life+11% Magic Find +20.
I've been wearing a +27% Magic find stone in my andarius helm for a while now, I think I'll swap it back to the xp gain it once was. It's getting hard enough to level that it will definitely help now, although 5 valor stacks will still be more important.
One more key to go, and I'll have 3 infernal machines and try for a Hellfire Ring! Just have to figure out where to go to have someone help me out at MP8 so I've the best chances of them dropping something.

btw, I have ALL the jeweler stuff completed, I can make any level of gem you want...but you gotta give me the gems and the gold. They get pricey at the higher levels!
And actually, I believe some of gems for sale on the Auction House are actually priced below cost to make them! You might want to take a look. If you're wondering why, it's because it's just another way to gold farm, and they're just giving you a discount as an incentive to buy.

I would take you up on your offer to craft a top tier ruby, but I need another 300 square rubies, and about 15 million gold, by the looks of it! Gems are crazy!
Someone leaked a Blizzard release schedule that showed there were 2 expansions planned for D3. Personally, I just wish they'd repair crafting and make materials useful again.
FYI:
A radiant star takes 400k to make, takes 3 perfects.
3 perfects take 200k each to make (+600k), and take 9 flawless stars.
9 flawless stars take 100k each to make (+900k), and take 27 Stars.
27 Stars take 80k gp each to make (2,160k gp) and 81 Radiant Squares.
81 Radiant Squares take 50k gp each to make (4,050k gp), and 243 Perfect Squares.
243 Perfect squares take 30k gp each to make (7,290k gp) and 729 Flawless Squares.
Total is 15,400k gp. With the 15% discount for using the auction house, you MUST sell a Radiant Star for 18.12 million gold to BREAK EVEN.
And that's not including any costs you might have for, oh, buying 729 emeralds off the Auction House.
A mere Perfect Star, the second best, is a straight 5 million. You must sell it for 5.9 million to break even.

Meh. How much high level crafting do I actually bother with? Next to none. I don't have the money. Just improving jewels would keep me in the poorhouse...I accumulate gems faster then the money to keep them all combined.
And that's before I try and grab decent gear on the AH.

I'm beginning to hate barbs in public play.
Every other one is a hurry meister, wanting to keep their rage maxed, racing on ahead of the party, killing stuff, and keeping going.
Last night, Act 3, barb ran right through the first catapaults field while the rest of us were clearing it. he proceeded to smash the catapaults, clear the second map, and clear icefall caves while the rest of us finished up the first map, the dungeons there, and did the bridge of korsikk he ran thru.
I figure he cost us at least 8 elite spawns in loot, and the resplen chest in the caves.
WTF was he even in a group game?

I'm selling it. It sucks.
Seriously. After I stuck a +70% gem in the socket, it was doing less damage then my damage crossbow.
And it reduced the cost of zombie charger by 3 mana. yay, witch docter.
My damage crossbow is +331 Dex, 1138 base damage, +42% crit. It does about 20% more damage then my Heal oN Hit crossbow, which I tend to use more because I hate having to swap out for Reflect damage.
Anyone want it? I'll let it go for 125k gp. Keep in mind this...it will give you a big crit, but the base damage is 894, which lowers the damage of your pets and your sentry turrets, if you use them.
If you want a Flawless Star to stick in it, I can probably sell you one for 2 million gp.
Yeah, that's right. The jewel to stick in the thing is worth more then the crossbow. I got a really crappy one, I did.
On the other hand, I also got a Rare UA weapon...base dmg, 1101! No dex mod, but that's okay...it's still the highest damage UA weapon I've ever seen personally, by 200 points.
If i strap on every damage boosting item I own, dex and crit chance and crit mod, I can reach 97k damage with my damage bow.
Oh, and I hit level 50! I played through the entire game on MP1, and made 4 million gold and gained 1.5 levels. I'm about 40% faster killing stuff on MP1 vs MP2...I can do Act 3 in about 3 hours as opposed to 5. So, for farming and xp on a time basis, it's probably the best way to go. And I can wear a Goldskin and not feel too hampered. Also, the damage I take from Elites with Reflect Damage is much less...my sentries don't automatically kill me at MP1 with Reflected Damage faster then they regenerate it for me.
So, he's an annoying elite for you. Hellhide trembler (the beetle things in act3 that burst through walls). Fast, Reflect Damage, Arcane Turret, Walls.
Of course, the Fallen Commander Vortex/Jailer/Molten/Desecrator wasn't much fun, either, pulling me in on top of his molten trail, or Jailing me and Desecrating me. The Jailing + Desecration gets particularly irritating if the elite has Walls and I can't tumble away.

Yeah, trying to sell my 956 DPS Manticore drop has been very difficult. Good luck with it.
I'm power-levelling a Critical Mass wizard now. Got an Int Hellfire, Cain's set with big old ruby in the helm. Currently level 24. Apparently if you have someone to carry you through the various Acts and difficulty settings, you can make it to level 60 in 2 hours now. That does require a Leoric Signet Ring, which I don't have. Have been playing at MP 10 the entire time.
I'm enjoying finding upgrades for my character again! For my DH, a *real* upgrade costs hundreds of millions of gold that I can't be arsed generating. For a new character, the experience comes every couple of moments! Apart from the Cain's set, I am purposefully avoiding the AH until I hit around 43-49 and start qualifying for reduced lvl items.
The gameplay style seems interesting. The wizard actually feels way, way more tankier than the DH. The tactic seems to be, let them gang up on you, then retaliate. Frost nova is fun but my dps is really bad, so I can't follow it up fast enough.
What's the stats on your manticore? I really don't want one without heal on hit, and I'd prefer a 1000 dps, but if the stat mods are high enough, it might work. I carry two crossbows around all the time now...my damage one and my reflect damage one. It would be nice to go down to one.
You know that the guys who raced to 60 have too much money when you see 1.2 billion gold for some of the top rated items, and I'm sure there are people who can afford them...

I just finished level 50 this weekend...72 million xp. It's 80 million to the next level. Ugh. But it's still faster playing MP1 or 2 then higher ones, because I kill stuff so much faster. MP3 takes about twice as long to work through as MP1, for +30% xp vs +10%. I guess I'm sticking with MP1.
If I can get my default damage to 80k+ instead of the 60ish where it's at, I'll move up to MP2. I can just...almost...not...quite...buff to 100k dmg.

As someone whose damage is above 100k, I stick with MP1.
Wealth and experience increases with the amount of demons killed per minute. This means lower MPs will always be worth more than higher MPs the way the system is currently tweaked. It might become better later.
My plan is currently to reach plvl 50 then wait for the next patch. I am considering doing some Leorics hunting to help with that, but I've heard some scary stories about really bad luck getting in the way.
