A little OT, but could someone tell me about Darkmoon Vale? What is it that makes it such a good default setting?
I've always liked Varisia as it has a home for Gnomes, Elves and Dwarves within the nation's boundaries, as well as several important ports and Korvosa as it's own "mini Cheliax". Plus it's the home of some of my favourite APs! :)

Darkmoon Vale is a horrible little backwoods logging community ruled over by vicious thugs and constantly in need of salvation.

One thing that is important is that a lot of the other areas of the Inner Sea, are much more focused on specific settings or archetypes.
While it would be great to have Linnorm Kings, Taldor noble city games etc, the appeal for these to me, would seem to have a more limited market. As the staff have a repeatedly said, they consider the AP very carefully, as they want more buyers not less for that whole 6 months afterall.
I'm a great fan of the Varisian area to be honest, so I approve of even more stuff.

Heh. Fair enough. It depends if you like your monsters smart or stupid, really. Burnt Offerings has skewed me decidedly towards the latter.
I'd been getting the place confused with Bloodsworn Vale for as long as I've been familiar with the setting, though. Is this the place that the D1 line of modules is set?

We'er actually trying something of a "megadungeon" in Shattered Star... sort of. It's actually six different dungeon locations rather than one giant location, but each volume of Shattered Star will feature a relatively large and iconic dungeon site as is primary location.
That said... there's other stuff going on as well—Shattered Star isn't all dungeons all the time. There's wilderness and urban elements here and there, and lots of non-combat encounters (or combat encounters that can be resolved via things other than combat).
OK that is hugely exciting!
Now announce that fabled Varisia Hardcover and I'll be ecstatic!
Ooh and the Jim Groves penned Irrisen AP next year!

Yep, Falcon's Hollow is at the heart of Darkmoon Vale
