Why in God's name would you watch assassination classroom dubbed? It is 70% Kanji jokes and puns that won't translate well.
Because I don't read kanji or understand the puns without a paragraph of subtitles to explain them?
Also because the wife needed something we could watch while she wrote reports, which makes it hard for her to follow subs.

Started watching Is It Wrong To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon and finding it to be rather charming. Hopefully the protagonist will remain adorably clueless rather than turning into annoyingly clueless as the harem gathers.
I needs me more Assassination Classroom. Not so desperate to switch from the dub to the sub yet, but we'll see how well the wife and I hold out.
I am enjoying Dungeon as well- more than I would have thought from the initial premise and title.

With all this sidebar about gender objectification, I bring you an example of the female form being treated as objects to its' ultimate extreme... ;)
Looks like something got a new updated look for 2015...
The "fanservicey" hand taketh away: The Familiar of Zero.
1. Be a human male, summoned to another world by accident.
2. Could get a Harem in that world.
3. ????
4. Profit with more seasons/sequels!Also in dubbed format.
Because dubs (one of the few single-season only ones of anime) still exist.
I strongly endorse this post, since it's pretty much what I've been trying to say all this time: make enough stuff to appeal to everyone so everyone can enjoy what they like, and don't need to hate on the stuff that they don't.
Here4daFreeSwag, you are the wind beneath my wings.
Yep, and the sooner we all can get to the real troubling issue that pops up in anime now and then... that issue being that of
tentacled aberrations being horribly abused by angry short-tempered Loli schoolgirls; all of which has nothing to do with the plot whatsoever...Needless to say, such prevalent abuseivness was pervasive enough to get an english dub too. ;)

Has anyone seen an anime called "Show by Rock"? If so is it any good?
It's interesting.....
Girl goes to another dimension where Rockstars must go to other dimensions where they transform into CG Hello Kitty characters to fight monsters with the power of Rock.
After showing her awesome, she gets recruited by a small time lable for Battle of the Bands.
It's fun and cute and somewhat better than my description makes it sound

Fantastic Fight in today's "Is it wrong to pick up girls in a Dungeon?"
This series has ended up being much better than I had been expecting, the characters are very likable and I find myself really enjoying the Setting with how the Gods are directly involved in daily life. The idea of "Adventurers" being directly connected to the patronage of a God has some interesting appeal as well. Plus your god handles your level up by personally updating your stats.
It's an interesting twist
Pathfinder wise it would be like saying "You only gain access to a PC class, if a God agrees to accept you as a member of it's Clan" Everyone else in the world is NPC classed.
If you haven't watched you should if only for Today's battle against the Minotaur.

In the High School afterworld of Angel Beats! The leader refers to the population outside her band of rebels as NPCs.

I've been watching it as well and completely agree with everything you just said. The series has been decent up until this point but that fight was just plain amazing!

The band is together again.
That pretty much summed up yesterday's episode of Arslan Senki (number 8). And it was glorious watching Gieve, Farangis, Narsus, Daryun, Arslan, and Elam working together to take down Kharlan and his army. I especially loved how the mere mention of Daryun's name caused the soldiers to rout in the face of the enemy. I'm not sure how I feel about the outfit worn by the priestess of Mitra this go round, however. In the OVA, Farangis wore armor, whereas this version is dressed in what can only be described as a cloak, hip-high leather boots, and strips of cloth covering her breasts and crotch. Much more revealing and, (in my eyes), a disservice to the character. Having never read the novels that the series is based on, I can't say if this is how she's supposed to be dressed and they went with something more practical for the OVA or the OVA had it right and they changed it for the series.
Episode 9 will deal more with Silvermask/Prince Hermes, our villain. Looking forward to seeing how much we learn about him.

I think she was more cheesecakey in the manga.

I finally got around to watching Gurren Lagann (Yay Netflix in Australia). I feel... conflicted about it. The second half of the series took a serious shift in tone, at least for the start of the arc, and I felt like it was missing the unbelievably over the top affectionate parody of giant robot anime tone of the first half of the series. It started to get it back towards the end though... but then the ending itself. I don't know if I liked what happened with Nia and Simon or not.
Overall I enjoyed it though, and having Rossiu voiced by the same guy who was Lelouch in Code Geass (for the dubbed version at least) was a fantastic choice... manipulative little bastard that he is.
Next on my list is Knights of Sidonia, followed by either Kill la Kill or Apreggio of Blue Steel.

Because the first one wasn't enough....
a work related to ME!ME!ME!
Two warnings:
Though not as NSFW as the first, it still has its moments...
The strobe is strong with this one... enough that there should be a seizure warning...
If these factors have not deterred your interest, then you should have already clicked the link....
Have fun with this one...

I don't know what the hell that was but I do know that I'm about to smoke some of my doctor prescribed medical marijuana and then I'm watching it again.

It makes me want to live in golarion, although I realize that world is not that of a jrpg or even jsrpg.
If your DM is on the same wavelength, it CAN be!
..just saying.
also, +1.
*Thoughtful expression* Hmm...
(That said, I've also been enjoying Dungeon/DanMachi, and somewhat more than I expected to... it may help that I've also been reading the novels, and those fill in a LOT of the details that, as usual, the anime overlooks)

Just started Yona of the Dawn. Seems a little slow, but I enjoy it. Reminds me a little of Fushigi Yugi, where a reverse harem is building around the main character in a fantasy setting, but the main character seems slightly less worthless.
I thought that was an excellent show. Quite a bit better than Fushigi Yugi in my opinion. It does have a slow pace to it but it's never uninteresting. I'm really hoping there is enough material for a second season.

Haven't read/watched FY so I can't compare but Yona is excellent. The anime's only weakness is that it follows the manga rather closely so it leads to some slow episodes here and there. Apart from that, it has great characters and good development for Yona and Su-won (the others, not so much).
And we all know she has to end up with Hak. There is no alternative.Caineach |

I finished the first season last night. Considering how slowly they develop everything, I can easily see 3 major arcs for the second season, and they might only be able go get through 2.
Overall, I liked it, but it really dragged some bits out.

@Yuugasa: I'm not familiar with Ninja Scroll: from a brief glance, it looks like "action anime set in feudal japan", right? If that's the case I got 2 things that could be cool.
Sword of the Stranger
To put it simply, it's one hour and a half made of pure Sakuga bliss. The plot's there (I remember it being quite good, too), but the sheer awesomeness of the animation and the fights made me forget what was going on. I can't recommend it enough. Just...just watch it.
Katanagatari
Now this I'll talk more about. Ninjas? Check. Kung-fu action? Check. Magical s**t going on? Check. Quest to retrieve 12 cursed swords? Check.
So why's Katanagari so cool? It happens its the (super awesome) anime adaption of a series of novels by NisiOisiN (the Bakemonogatari guy): because of that, there's plenty of Trope reversal, completely crazy characters, plot twists abound, and a lot of meta stuff.
Each of the 12 episodes (Speaking of the episodes, they're 50 minutes long!) focuses on one of the sword wielders, giving a lot of character development and introspection to each of them (some more than others), all in a super particular animation style: of course, as the main characters go around collecting the swords they too get heaps of character development (and heart warming romance. Awwww).
It's a little particular, as with all the Nisio stuff, but it's one of my favorite series ever.
PS: It also features one of the biggest moment of trolling in the history of animation. You'll know when you get there.
Hope I've been of help!

Finished //Hack.Sign last night- still not sure how I feel about it. Realized after buying the DVD collection that I could have just streamed it on Funimation. Doh! I'll probably watch the other series.
Turn-A Gundam arrived this week, so that's next on my viewing list. Should be interesting.
I just got into watching the simulcast of Seraph of the End- pretty good so far if you like stuff like D.Gray-Man and Blue Exorcist. The open and ending music rock, though!
Tonight, it's going to be Nausicca which I picked up on sale on blu-ray this week. Haven't seen it in since probably 2007 so I'm looking forward to it.

Just watched Expelled from Paradise, a post-apocalyptic mecha sci-fi in which most of humanity exists in digital form within a refuge called Deva. Angela Balzac, the protagonist, is an agent of Deva on a mission to protect it from a hacker known as Frontier Setter. This movie is a fast-paced action drama. Other than her at-your-fan-service outfit, Angela is an engaging and believable protagonist who becomes a new character by the film's end, and avoids straying into the trite tropes that I expected at the start.
I give Expelled from Paradise four stars out of five.

I have really mixed feelings about .Hack. Unlike a lot of people, I didn't mind that they spent a lot of time sitting around talking. My biggest problem with the series is that they built up a couple characters as awesome, then have them in a fight with eachother, but they cut away any time there would be a fight scene, only to cut back to them panting at eachother. Its not like they spent their animation budget on the rest of the show. That fight should have been awesome.

Yeah, that most recent episode was great.
Been enjoying Food wars, but that is a terrible show to watch when hungry. Also cliffhangers. But Magical Cabbage. But cliffhangers.
Oh and Plastic memories is also a good one, though it will sucker punch you right in the feels for the first episode. I find the concept really interesting if incredibly depressing to consider.
