I haven't played any RPG before, so this will be my first rodeo. I've played HeroClix and have recently started 40K, but nothing like Pathfinder.
What module would be a seamless transition from the BB to the CRB? I've been to the local bookstore and see a ton of modules.
Also, my buddy has a bunch of D&D books. Would those be comparable?
Sorry if this has been asked before, but I scanned over the boards and nothing caught my eye.
Thanks in advance and I hope I don't anger some of the PF vets.

Pathfinder is basically D&D 3.5 with some balance and wording changes. D&D isn't much different for the core mechanics; just be careful of certain things like the druid's wildshape and the polymorph school in general. You can download both a lite version of the rules and the pathfinder conversion guide for free on this site.

Hmm can't find the lite rules but I think it's an app...

Have you downloaded the Beginner Box Player Pack and GM Kit? They give you more information (and a free mini-adventure) to help you transition from the BB to the full Core Rulebook, and recommend Crypt of the Everflame, which was written as an intro to the Core Rulebook and is a good choice for making the transition.

Make sure your friend's D&D books are the 3.5 ruleset.
Previous editions of AD&D (usually called 1E and 2E) are not really compatible enough with Pathfinder to help you much.I also think Pathfinder is vastly superior to D&D 3.5, and while some of the modules from D&D might be fun, Pathfinder and its setting are becoming the gold standard of tabletop RPGs, much like AD&D (1E) and Greyhawk were in the late 70s and early 80s.

I would avoid your friend's dnd books.
They might be similar but will have lots of subtle differences which can be confusing for someone starting out.
I would definitely consider Crypt of the Everflame, however you want want to try Master of the Fallen Fortress: it is a short, punchy introduction which you can download for free. You fight some classic monsters, pick up some cool kit and you can put it anywhere you would like.

This module features both basic stats and CRB stats, so you can switch between them as you please
Thank you! :)
