How to change race or class after the Beginner Box.

Beginner Box

Hello to everybody! I´m from Latin America and I never played an RPG, so I´m an old newbie. Recently I got my Beginner Box, my Core Rulebook, my Bestiary and a Gamemastery Pathfinder lodge flip-mat. (It was better, cheaper and faster to get those togheter in a row) I´m starting with the Pathfinder Beginner Box, and I´m currently creating a character.Actually, I want to be a GM, but I´m studying character creation so I can teach to other players how they can create their own characters (I haven´t found people to play with yet XD).

As you know, the Beginner Box only includes three races (human, dwarf and elf) and four clasess (rouge, wizard, cleric and fighter), but the Core Rulebook adds Half-Orcs, Half-elves, Halflings and Gnomes, and for the classes, adds Sorcerer, Bard, Monk and others that I don´t remember right now. My question is: After I made my character with the races and clasess from the BB, how can I change my race and class when I want to jump to the Core Rulebook? It is possible? Or I need to make a new character from 0 if I want to change my race and class?

For example, when I start with the BB, I create a Human Wizard, play the adventure that comes in the books and reach lv 5. If I want to make the jump to the Core Rulebook and want to be a Half-elf sorcerer, do I have to throw away my Human Wizard and start from cero with my Half-elf sorcerer? I don´t know if it´s a dumb question, but I´m finding the Pathfinder world not only marvelous, but also quite difficult to understand ^^;

Thank you! By the way, sorry for the bad english

Grand Lodge

Ultimately it is up to you and your GM.

If you play Pathfinder Society you may not change your character, but for home games it is entirely up to your GM and you.

Scarab Sages

Not an answer to your question - I think there really isn't one other then the answer Don Walker gave above, but you might want to check the Beginners Box Page on this Website for some free downloads, including the Barbarian class for the Beginners Box.

I've already check it. I was traying to make a Half-elf wizard using both the Beginner Box for the instructions and the Core Rulebook for the racial traits of the half elf. To be honest, I was confused on how to fill in my character sheet. I wasn't sure in wich section of the character sheet I had to write some of the half elf racial traits. I'll keep on trying.
Thank you guys for your answers! :D

First, I think you'll find it is much easier to simply start a new character rather than switch from one class or race to another. Use the experience to try out other race/class combinations and see which ones you enjoy.

Next, I strongly recommend you download the PFBB Race Addendum and PFBB Consolidated Class Conversions from EdOWar's blog >HERE<.

Ed has taken a great deal of time and effort to create the extra races and classes from the Core rulebook, as well as the other PF books (Advanced Players Guide, etc) in BB format. That is, 5 level limit, simplified feats and spells and so on. Later on, when you run a full PF game, you'll be familiar with the basics behind all those additional options and the transition won't be such a shock.

Welcome to the game, and the boards. Your English is just fine, so don't worry on that account!

Thank you for the warm welcome Koren! I found your answer not only simple, but also friendly. I´m going to give it a try to your advices. Since english is not my language, I´m quite slow at understending the instructions and rules because of the terms used in the books.
