I want to play a time thief but I'm not entirely sure i get how to use one.
I'm playing a human with decent stat options and have gone for
Dex
Int
Str/Con
Wis
Cha
as my order of priority for stats.
I am thinking of him as a skill-monkey more than anything else.
Is this the best way to play a time-thief? What am I missing?
First of all charisma should be much higher on your priority list, 2 or 3 at the least, maybe number one. Many of your abilities are based on charisma, and your motes
Time Thieves make excellent skill monkeys. They not only get a ton of skill points, but they also can use motes and other abilities to directly influence a host of skills. They make great faces, and they can take a talent to have trap finding if they so choose (so they can disable magic traps at later levels). As a charisma based character with lots of skills they make great 'faces' for dealing with npcs.
In combat they are usually best as de-buffers. In my last game, a player playing a time theif had the talent steal time as one of his principle abilities that he used. You are never going to be a big damage dealer, but if you can stagger an opponent that is a huge boon. There is also steal fate which is another pretty good debuff.
In terms of options you will want to look additionally at the bullet point from Super Genius Games, 7 time feats/ There are some good feats in there for a time theif.

I never really looked at the class before this, and I have to say, it rocks hard. I might have to try that later. But I am agreeing with Kolokotroni with the higher Charisma. It seems to me that Wis is not very important to the class, seeing as they get good Will saves. Intelligence is nice, but I would bump everything down one and include Charisma inbetween Dexterity and Intelligence.
