Anyone playing it? It's still $7.99 on Steam for the next 17(ish) hours.
It's not bad, from a survival horror connoisseur perspective, but the s@!%ty retro look gets pretty annoying. Sort of reminds me of the Clocktower series (visually). I find myself playing it in bursts of fifteen to twenty minutes thanks to the visual styles and an over-cautious attitude (something I fall back on with every horror game I play).
So far, it's worth the eight bucks.
Okay...second thoughts now.
I'm in almost two hours and the game's greatest weakness is its repetition. The blurred graphics are getting incredibly annoying and only very cliché surreal moments attempt to lure the player in for the story. The survival factor really cramps the game's style; I would enjoy it far more if I wasn't chasing down crackers and canned veggies every other ten minutes.
At first, I enjoyed the creepy atmosphere and the tense claustrophobia-inducing scenes, but now I'm just bored and annoyed. I'm determined to finish this, but the temptation to just drop it lingers.
