Looking to make the Witchblade

Conversions

Ok this might not be the spot for this but, I was thinking of making the Witchblade from the comic book/ T.V. snow. I just need some help, I was thinking of some sort of gauntlet that can extend part of its self to make a weapon the wielder is proficient with. Then may be give it the ability like a ring of protection. Make it intelligent as well. Does it seem like I'm on the right track?

Not exactly what you are looking for, but I did a Hexblade class conversion that I renamed the Witchblade. LOL Witchblade

Master Arminas

Simple....Summoner/Synthesist...all done.

Just about anything that requires some sort of "customization" is probably best off using a summoner/synth with a slight re-fluff of the flavor text. However you will get stuck with certain concepts, especially the Witchblade one.

Honestly your best bet is going to rely on (the very good) Dreamscarred Press products (all the links lead to the Paizo store for the products named). They have done a "pathfinderized" version of psionics and two of thier products will give you pretty much exactly what you are looking for. You'd start with the Soulknife as the base class from the base book Psionics Unleashed. The one close option(probably the more basic of the two I've seen) is the supplement Psionics Expanded: Master of the Battle with an archtype that lets you swap some abilities out for armor as well (So you end up with a weapon as well as the Witchblade covering the wearer protectively). The other option involves the Soulknife and a class (and PrC) from the Psionics Expanded: Unlimited Possibilities. This option will give you a great deal more freedom with determining what "special abilities" the Witchblade gives. The class in this one allows you to summon armor in different "stages" light/med/heavy as you desire (I think there is something like 8 hours required to switch it around once you choose) and has a wider option of choices for abilities instead of the normal +X enhancements. Pair this with a soulknife and the PrC in this book allows you to advance both the weapon and armor from both classes. A little more book keeping, but pretty much a dead on replication of the Witchblade.

If you are completely restricted to Core choices, I would actually ignore the synth summoner and go with the Magus Bladebound (Ultimate Magic). You get the "mysterious" intelligent magic weapon and have a good choice of combat spells. When you get to later levels you could buy a glove of storing and keep the weapon in that (at 10,000 gp it is rather steep, probably too steep, for the "flavor" of the weapon coming from the gauntlet - but it is Core).

Ok maybe I didn't come off as clear as I thought....I didn't want to do the Witchblade as a class. I wanted to make it as a magic item....given what it can do from the few comics I have read and the T.V. show it would have to be at least Minor Artifact level. I'm just not sure as to how to go about it.

Here is what I know I want it to do.
1)Gantlet that can change form into some form of jewlary /(glove slot)

2)extend/create a weapon the wearer is proficient in

3)protect the wearer. (just no sure how, ie as ring of pro, or bracer of armor)

4)give the wearer energy resistance.(just not sure how high)

Liberty's Edge

When you're doing an artifact, things can be arbitrarily high or as low as you want them to be, its all GM Fiat anyways. Just make some decisions and go with it.

one option is to let it advance as an eidolon, using the rules for synthesist., basically just an item of synthesist evolutions

alternatively look at 3.5's weapons of legacy if you want its power to scale over levels

Have it count as both armor and a weapon instead of a slot/space item. Counted it as light armor or chain mail and give it enhancement bonuses appropriate to the characters level. Do the same for the weapon part of it. The wearer can conjure the weapon of their choice and grant the weapon special qualities it might not normally have, such as reach, trip, and grappling.

That's just what I would have done.
There was a kind of magic armor once that could "sprout" a fixed selection of weapons basically at will. The weapons had to be melee, as far as I recall, because when seperated from the armor, they'd disappear.

Also, there was a kind of armor (tesselated full plate) in the old Arms&Equipment Guide that could be kept in a box. It could be fully equipped with just a standard action (command word) and worked like a watered-down version of mithral full plate.

Thirdly, in one issue of the dragon magazine, they included a form of magic belt that could store your armor so you could equip it with a command word, same as with the tesselated full plate.

Combine these three, reflavor the magic belt as magic gauntlet (which occupies both wrist slots) and maybe make it an intelligent magic item.

Shouldn't be too "epic" or hard to make if you keep it simple (full plate+1, creates only masterwork weapons, etc.).

Otherwise I'd have gone with the Synthesist Summoner as well - after all, Miss Pezzini DOES have Charisma in spades and the Witchblade seems like a rather skimpy coating... O:-)

I'm late to the party

How about an oracle with the Metal Mystery that case instant armor

Scarab Sages

Well, in game terms, the metal "armor" summoned by a typical witchblade would be less protective than a haramaki.

I believe an attempt at this conversion was done in Kobold Quarterly #23 - the Gauntlet Witch. It was done as an archetype rather than an item, however.

Being an avid fan (so sad the comic came to a close). I have tried using all three. The artifact was too much, especially at low levels. The gauntlet witch seemed to be missing some things. The synthesist was almost perfect I found, but the character in question was a spellcaster so...if it's another class I'd modify that to an artifact using the synthesist info.

Scarab Sages

Actually, an Elemental Annihilator kineticist with the earth element would be a good fit. Use metal infusion, and beat the hell out of things with summoned blade weapons.
