So I am setting here talking with friends and they asked me a great question that I am asking to all the 3PP out there: As A 3rd party publisher, who would you like to team up on a project? For me it is kind of easy because I am kind of doing it right now: Dreamscarred Press and adding psionics to Obsidian Twilight using there system.
What about you other 3PP?

Right now? Probably SGG's Time Thief / Warden and JBE's Shadowsfall.
I'll be eagerly watching this thread though. It feels like this could be a chocolate + peanut butter moment.

This is hard for me to say, since I have things in the works with several other publishers, such as the aforementioned psionics in Obsidian Twilight, and already feeling like I'm a bit overloaded with existing projects...
That being said, I'd love to see a Genius Guide to Psionic Archetypes... or a Rite Publishing #30 Psychoactive Skins (or some other psionic item concept)...
Still have to make the time to fully digest JBE's Book of the River Nations: CPRFKB and see how it could be leveraged for Third Dawn.
Of course, all that would require a second Jeremy Smith, since I'm already more than maxed out on existing projects. ;)

I just wanted to chime in and say that I'm a HUGE fan of the collaborations between 3pps - DSP and LPJr Design, SGG and RiP, etc.
That being said, I'd love e.g. a mash-up of the upcoming "Fire as she bears", "Sailing the Starlit Sea" or "It came from the Stars" with peculiar settings like Mor Aldenn, NeoExouds, Questhaven or Midgard.
I wouldn't say no to a FoTS-entry of a Dread, a Machinesmith or of another good 3pp-class - curiously, there is as of yet no taskshaper or luckbringer, but I digress.
Or a Raging Swan-combo-product featuring a setting-specific TRIBE or "So what..."-installment.
I'd also love a combo-effort of Raging Swan TRIBES/In the company of... by Rite Publishing.
JBE's Shadowfall (Or the revamped OT) with special kingdom building rules for desolate settings. (Think about it: Kingdom building in such a desolate setting - now THAT's a challenge...)
I'd also love any talented adventure-writer to support Open Design's Northlands - perhaps a crossover with FGG? Or a sequel to Breaking of Forstor Nagar?

Raging Swan and Rite Pub already work together on Pathways and now Adventure Quarterly Crieghton is a machine but In The Company of is on hold until I am done with Questhaven.
There is a squeal to Breaking of Forstor Nagar coming for AQ (eventually, but Ben McFarland is busy with The martial arts guidebook.
The problem with setting crossovers is IP, open OGL stuff is much easier.
Don't forget Elspeth Black - elan psychic warrior 5/metamind 5/war mind 5 :) Another face of the Tarnished Souk.

And let me say I have *loved* what crossover efforts I've seen and been part of. Rite and SGG play with each others toys fairly often (I've referenced 101 Renegade Class Feats more than once), ususally after a very short email. But I've also had dealings with several other 3pp, and everyone has always been polite and accommodating.

I've always been surprised the 3pp never got together and developed some shared IP. Especially such things as deities, world map, etc.

I didn't have any thoughts when I mentioned it, but now that it's had time to digest wouldn't an adventure path type of thing work well? Maybe this has been done already but...
An ancient vault of a long-lost empire is uncovered. This empire was set to rule everything until it decided to mess around in the multiverse's playground. Opening a portal to an alternate Prime Material Plane, the empire's wizards inadvertently allowed an even greater threat to begin colonization of this plane! The chidahn, super-aggressive, militaristic dragonfly-men who have conquered there own plane now have a door opened into fresh feeding grounds. History only records that the lost empire suffered some sort of inner calamity before collapsing. In truth, it took all of its might to fight the otherworldy aggressors and seal them and the portal to the other plane within a magical vault and then bury it.
At the adventure path's start, unfortunate treasure hunters have unearthed that vault and broken through its time-weakened magical seal. This world suddenly needs heroes...every one of them it has.
The crux of the path is that the lost empire did find a way to close the portal and draw all chidahn back to their universe but didn't have the time to gather the components. Instead, they had to opt for entombing the open portal or suffer extinction. The PCs encounter the chidahn threat at the start and stumble upon knowledge of how to permanently seal the portal. To do that, they need special items--items each publisher highlights in their own adventure (be it magic item, monster part, etc).
Can the PCs gather the items in time to save everyone and everything they hold dear or will the folly of a long-deceased empire doom the plane to extinction?
And then again, maybe I'm just typing nonsense here. :)

Its funny..this has been on my mind A LOT in the last few months. I was thinking about pitching the idea..an annual 3PP team-up..a super module and/or a setting/world, created by the best. I am not sure just how to divy up who works on what, besides the obvious..but I think it would worthwhile not only for the fans, but for the writers and artists themselves. The things that could come out of this could be amazing, as long as nobody felt their slice of the pie was too small.
Even a book of short adventures, or different world settings..or other companies playing in a publishers world (Super Genius Games and Rite swimming in Alluria's Cerulean seas setting anyone..?)
I have been waiting to see how well Adventure Quarterly does, but I have considered inviting folks in to do adventures for and from other 3rd party publishers.
I think I'd love to see a Jon Brazer/Super Genius collaboration. I really enjoy the classes that SG has provided and I've been enjoying the Kingmaking rules that JB has given us in addition to the Shadow Realm Bestiary.
I'd also like to see Raging Swan with anyone really. I like RS's adventures and it'd be cool to have one about a renegade Godling or a delve into the Shadow Realm.

And if I recall and skim through Forgotten Foes, team-ups have their definite benefits and have yet to fail to impress me.
I'd also love to see a kind of all-star-ish project - combined styles and strengths of this talented cadre of authors, artists and editors might make for some truly mind-blowing products. Plus: Individual 3pps get exposure to the fans of 3pps they team up with.
I e.g. only got exposed to Open Design via the now defunct Sinister Adventures-boards and from there on, the spiral went. There, I found out about Rite Publishing and on the circle goes...

Yeah, when I saw that short Kaidan adventure in Pathways, I thought wouldn't it be cool to see an anthology of short adventures based in Kaidan - maybe a 13 Tales of Horror in Kaidan project, from 13 writers. That would be so cool.
But everyone has their own or favorite setting - should I be so lucky, as to get this before anyone else's setting... not sure.
All-star setting anthologies: One anthology in Questhaven, one in Mor Aldenn, one in NeoExodus, one in Kaidan, one in the northlands, one in the lands of the Jade Oath, one in the lonely coast... I'd totally love that!

I am fond of the idea that, if such a collaboration were to occur, and it was focused around campaign settings, that it'd have some sort of setting-hopping feature, like the old World Serpent Inn, or Redhurst.

Yes, that's the analogy - Crisis on infinite earths in PFRPG would be so incredibly awesome... Just think about it: Each anthology being self-contained, but featuring components of a massive meta-plot spanning x worlds. That would be so incredibly cool...
This idea is intriguing to say the least...
Before RIFTS came along I ran a short campaign using the Palladium system that hopped between TMNT Space, TMNT After the Bomb/Roadhogs/Mutants Down Under, Ninjas and Superspies/Heroes Unlimited "Earth", Justice Machine's "Georwell", Palladium's Northern Wilderness/Wolfen territory and a dimensionally challenged/folded square courtyarded castle called Avlavartsac based on the 5th Doctor Who episodes "Castravalva".
Quite the mashup, and that was just the PC's - (IIRC) a human martial artist, a couple of superheroes, a technician hero, related lo-tech gun-toting mutant animals, a changeling diabolist, a psionicist and a DMPC that looked like human mendicant monk but was really a cyborg/prosthetic robot with a little Utrom (blob-like small alien with stubby digits) in the belly cavity.
It never reached conclusion but the concept was a lot of fun. Loose and relaxed, high adventure, portal hopping, mutant biker-triceraton-super-baddy-dark government-wolfen-psionicists inhabited, multiple world saving, super-powerful villain hunting, genre-warping, cross-cultural misunderstandings type FUN!
Which is how I imagine Crisis on Infinite Earths. I'd love to see Alluria's Cerulean Seas, LPJ's Neo-Exodus and Obsidian Twilight, Raging Swan's Lonely Coast, DSP's Third....World(?), FGG's Rappan Athuk, OD's Midgard, and the Zeitgeist setting all appear on the same playlist...[EDIT: oops, forgot to add RIP's Kaidan!]

What do you see as the benefit/appeal of it working out that way? I'm not saying it's a bad idea, I'm just curious about why it appeals to you.

Thanks much! Although I'm getting Run Amok Games up and running, I'm pleased that I've been able to work with so many other 3PPs as a freelancer. I'm deeply involved with Headless Hydra Games' Mor Aldenn setting, I've written a few Pathways articles to tie into Rite Publishing goodies (like #30 Fleshgrafts and Way of the Yakuza), and I'm right now working on an adventure for Raging Swan set on the Lonely Coast.
I'm very grateful that so many 3PPs are letting me play in their worlds!

Well its a great opportunity to see what could be made with more freedom to use things, like a what someone would make in their home games, and new things would come up with this. Also whats the point of the collaboration if you don't push a few boundries and mix things up a little?
