Point Build Advice

Kingmaker

Hi, we are about to start Kingmaker with a much higher stress on the kingdom making part. What is a good point build for the 3 characters that will be in it? Usually we do 25 point, but we are concerned that will over balance the kingdom building.

Thanks

Since an AP is designed for 4 characters using a 20 point build, going with 3 characters and a 25 point build should be just about right.

It's designed for 4 characters at a 15 point buy.

That's what's awesome with Kingmaker, you can make it much more powerful with very little tweaking.Remember 3 pcs leaves a lot of holes.

Sovereign Court

utility wizard/sorc, skill monkey, damage dealer.

Nezthalak, I am not too concerned about the Adventure part, but rather that actual kindom making. Will higher stats make the kingdom grow tha much faster and make it overwhelming to the other cities too quickly?

No not at all, plus they will have to hire npcs to fill the other slots.

At our table we had a general rule that if you want to make a character to fill a role try to have a 15 or better in one of the stats for that role at the start. Since the characters should be level 4 by the time they actually start the kingdom that gives a reasonable +3 from them. As far as NPC's go if they can get a +2 to fill all roles but the headsman / assassin the kingdom will work out just fine.
