Contributor, RPG Superstar 2010 Top 4

Congratulations to Christina, Ben, and Company on this triumph.

::round of applause::

EDIT: ::chuckles:: Hey Wolfgang, they ponied up the pesos- now YOU get to work! (kidding)

Tell 'em, Jim! :)

THANKS SO MUCH, ALL!

The Exchange Kobold Press

I'm very happy to be put to work on The Raven's Call, and I have some ideas that I think will pleasantly surprise the backers.

And I think some of it will be ruthlessly plundered by anyone running the Linnorm Kings....

Liberty's Edge

Wow - this sounds like it is gonna be COOL!!!!!

Really looking forward to The Raven's Call, but now I'm afraid I might not be able to read it right away if Mark plunders it for Square Sails on the Horizon.

Great ideas for those stretch goals. For those that haven't seen them yet:
1. AGE System Stats or
2. Split Freeing Nethus out to make room for 2 more adventures or
3. Paper Minis
Tough call! Help us reach the next level at Midgard Tales

Have to balance the checkbooks first to ensure I can contribute! Medical bills...

I did contribute to Journeys to the West project already.

I was only kidding. I certainly know how it is with bills...especially medical ones (oy!).

Thank you for being a part of Journeys. I hope you can join the new project in whatever capacity you are able, Sethvir. :)

Go for #2, guys and gals on the stretch vote! Yes, I'm biased. :)

Another vote for #2 - sounds awesome and might make for a cool stand-alone. :)

Way to go folks! "The Raven's Call"!!!!! Yesssss!

As for the ultimate stretch goal, I vote option #2 as well!

It would be so awesome if we could get the 32 expanded adventure as well!

Ok. So here goes!

54 hours to go.

$3800 needed to reach the ULTIMATE STRETCH GOAL: Christina Stiles capstone adventure "Freeing Nethus" will be expanded to 64 pages (!!!) and published separately from the main book, making room for more awesome adventures/pitches by the Senior Patrons!!!

It's all eminently possible! Any would be Viziers, Oracles or Godlings out there really wishing to make their mark in Midgard? Roll up, roll up!!!!

Midgard Tales kickstarter

Contributor

I'm not sure that Wolfgang agreed to make it 64 pages, but let's make the stand-alone happen. :)

Lantern Lodge

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Rulebook Subscriber

Looks like he did. New product description says 64 pages. If you're on the fence, you won't regret it. 30 hours to go and only $3,045 to hit that bonus content.

Contributor

Wow, I missed that! Cough up 3K+, Michael. :) I REALLY hope this addition happens. Fingers crossed.

Ha, bump up to Godling, eh? I think...make that I know my wife would disown me :) But, I really hope it happens too!

Just 25 hours to go, and we're at $22,115! Only $2885, and "Freeing Nethus" becomes a stand-alone adventure, adding two more to main anthology! You'll be swimming in the loot, but only if you sign up now.

By comparison, Journeys into the West is about to complete turnover to the editor and then finish the bonus materials, drawing on input from the patrons!

These projects provide months of interaction, discussion, and learning opportunities. What are you waiting for? Come tell some Tales!

Yep, down the last 16 hours, and people are still piling in. The hardcover is a limited-edition book, available only to the Kickstarter backers.

Hey folks,

Putting my $0.02 into the mix in support of this Kickstart. I've done three Open Design patronages so far and they get better and better. Journeys to the West was tons of fun and I can't wait to see my (small) contributions in print (some crazy cultists, gutter rhymes and whatnot). Check it out!

Regards,

Two vizier slots remain open. I will be calling on these folks a lot. It's a great way to get some project experience with the designer, and I'll save some special contribution spots for you, like we did with the Admirals for Journeys.

10 hours and we actually might make the 25K - this would be so extremely awesome...

It sure would! I missed Journeys to the West, but am certainly excited by this. =)

Gotta throw my recommendation in as well - if you haven't pledged already, you're missing out!

You can still sign up to receive Journeys, btw, until the end of the month on the KQ Store, though all the brainstorming and most of the manuscript is done. There's one pirate book supplement remaining.

This is going to be great! Even if you don't have the time or cash to go in at a higher level, this is still a great opportunity to see an idea you'd like to see developed picked up. The brainstorming that every patron participates in is a great source of inspiration for those of us pitching. And if you ever want a chance at pitching/writing (and here it's for a hardcover book), you have great mentors in Christina, Ben, and Wolfgang to help you out. They make it easy. Tons of great advice and a very supportive community.

Upped my pledge. So close - less than $120 to go.
Too bad I'm a pauper.

< $1000 to go.

Just 9 hours to get $894-- and then "Freeing Nethus" becomes a standalone adventure, those pages become new adventures in the anthology and it's crazy romps across Midgard for everyone! :D

Too many goodies to miss out on!

Just signed up. This is an extraordinary project!

The Exchange Kobold Press

Thank you, Chris! I have to agree, there's a lot of great stuff happening in this project already.

And we're just $44 short of the final stretch goal.

Made it! Woot!

And we made it! Yaaaaay!

Grand Lodge

Whew! Congrats all! And sign up for this awesome project while you still have the chance!

That's true! And I almost did. The $10 shipping threw me off because I don't want the print book. I'd rather have pledged $25 in the KS and got all the PDFs rather than $30+$10 to pay for the softcover and all the PDFs. It's nitpicky to be sure, but I'm not so full of money and generally prefer PDFs to print books (I've only played via VTT for many years now). So I was figuring I'd wait... even though that'll probably mean not getting any of the extras.

Lantern Lodge

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Rulebook Subscriber

Hey, thanks everyone that helped get it over $25k! Now we all get to work! Can't wait. Having all of Midgard as a playground for ideas is going to be a lot of fun.

Contributor

Wow oh wow oh wow! I'm flabbergasted! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

We are going to have a blast on this project! We'll do a poll first to see what level distribution range folks want for the main book. I think we'll up the word count on those, too.

I'm still in shock, and I'm so very grateful that "Freeing Nethus" is free to stand on its own at double the word count!

You guys are the best, pure AWESOME!!!!

The Exchange Kobold Press

4 hours left. Composers are emailing me on Kickstarter offering to compose the score.... Uh guys? This is a tabletop game, not an app! :)

3 hours left - $30K stretch goal? :P

The Exchange Kobold Press

Uhhhhh. Wow, I dunno.

If we hit $30K, I will definitely have a major announcement, but I have to run the numbers first.

I'm mostly kidding, though, it would be cool if it could pick up that much more steam in the next couple hours.

The Exchange Kobold Press

Yeah, I'm mostly sure it won't hit that level. But then, I thought that about the last couple of stretch goals as well.

Sczarni

I backed this a month ago at Hero level but with all the excitement I upped to Lorekeeper just to make sure I get the Hardcover book. I am really looking forward to seeing this project come to fruition.

You might want to keep that in mind for your next Kickstarter project, though... a downloadable mp3 theme (or an album) might make for an interesting stretch goal bonus.

The Exchange Kobold Press

Hm, good point. I really don't know what an album or a single mp3 would cost to compose and perform. But yeah, might be a great stretch goal!
