Rysky hugs accepted.

On a more positive note though, the student paper did an article about that pride march I was in a couple weeks ago and I'm in two pictures! I guess the photographer liked me, lol.

Cool.

They have a treatment plan for my friend so I guess that is a good sign....hopefully it works. Still can not visit him as his heart is still fluctuating and he is still in the ICU.

He is a very good friend and one of my more supportive friends...I am missing him. :(

I often find that some sort of meditation helps. Try to focus on the positives.

Freehold and best friend come home from working New York Comic Con!

Contemplating getting a part-time job to supplement my Security "career." Since I returned to work, my weekly hours have been reduced by four, and my first full pay is $80 less than what it was before I went into the Hospital. Any suggestions?

Wow, that sucks. Don’t know what to suggest though.

That's okay, Rysky. I'm sure something will turn up. *And yes, that's perhaps unrealistically optimistic.*

Part time at UPS...after a year really great benefits....good pay for part time work(after 5 years a bring home around 240ish for just over twenty hours of work)...great exercise.

No real news on my friend...except he might be out of the ICU today which means I might get to visit him tonight.

Yesterday I and a friend went over to another friend's house and I got on my really pretty pair of stalkings and a skirt my mom gave me and we hung out...it was very nice and I felt natural.( And OMG! I really love stalkings...)

Thanks, Selene. There's a UPS near my home. I'll look into that. Sending out well-wishes towards your friend.

Santa Rosa is devastated.

I am farther south but have too much smoke too. I was having a really good three days until I lost my temper over my dad getting mad over the mac and cheese being way too soupy. Staying hydrated helped me a lot.

Bluh, I'm tired =.= spent a lot of time out and about yesterday... and when we got back, roomies had a bunch of stuff to discuss about buying houses.

Ended up doing my best to avoid them and just play Skyrim Survival Mode instead.

Hope all'a'y'all are doing good today!

Doctor: And here I thought I was the only person on the planet that appreciated 'soupy' mac and cheese. Seriously, when it takes on the consistency of nearly-set adhesive it's kind of lost it's enjoyment?

:>

Vixie, as a caution if you're going to be involved with the process of buying a residence staying a participant in the process (however painful or tedious it may be) is rather crucial.

Otherwise, important life decisions (One bathroom, two, or three+? Who is sleeping in what room again?, etc) that have been hand-waved for lack of desire of involvement suddenly come rearing an ugly head.

...may or may not have been invovlved/not involved in a couple of these processes in the past and speaking from dear experience.

May everyone have a safe and enlightening morning with minimal psychic damage!

Rysky: It's free to buy for a limited time, so I recommend at least booting it up and snagging it!

Wei Ji: Oh, I completely understand that, but it's the roomies that are buying the house. We're just gonna be renting for a bit. Thing is, our lease is until February, and our roomies are running a full sprint at it... I haven't had time to attend any in-person PFS for months now because this keeps eating my weekends. I need rest, yo x.x

A word of advice:

BUY FOOD
BUY A LOT OF FOOD
either that or buy a lot of salt and go hunting

I did Bleak Falls Barrow while "Hungry" and basically every draugr can kick your butt when you're even slower than they are

So, this is a mod to the basic game that tracks hunger for Skyrim on the PC? Interesting.

If it's like Survival Mode on Fallout 4 there's a bunch of different changes, I think you also have to worry about staying outside in the cold for long too.

Rysky, don't forget that you can also take from farmers' fields.

I'd be playing Skyrim on my desktop, except that the STEAM engine has a problem with the built-in video card. So, I'm currently stuck with the XB360.

All right so, further advice and an explanation for John:

Survival Mode means a few things. Hunger, Fatigue, and Cold are tracked. If you stay warm, well-fed, and well-rested, you get some minor bonuses. If you don't, you face some severe penalties-- limitations on your max Health, Magicka, Stamina, penalties to certain skills (hard to pick locks when your fingers are frozen), you attack or move slower, etc. Fast travel is completely disabled, as well. Armor now comes with Warmth Rating, which is why I'm still using a full set of Fur Armor. There are a lot more diseases, as well.

I'm playing a Nord, as they get built-in cold resistance. Khajit and Argonians can eat raw meat without getting food poisoning.

As far as food goes, raw ingredients aren't going to help you much. Prepared meals (stews, cooked meat) are going to be the best things to eat, giving you 220 or 380 against your Hunger stat instead of a measly 2 or (in some cases) 18. This is why I recommend buying meals: even if your pockets are full of cabbages and carrots, they're not going to do nearly as well for you as a few bowls of Potato Soup or some nice grilled chicken breast.

I see. Thanks, Vixie. Still stuck using the '360. My desktop needs a better, Steam-compliant video card. Gives me a goal to work towards. Unless I want to burn part of next year's refund for a better system. But that would mean buying less Anime at Tekko. Choices, choices.

Happy to help! Oh, other things I forgot to mention:

-Carry weight is cut in half (if I recall original carry weight correctly)
-Arrows and lockpicks now have weight (about .1 per piece)
-You level up when you sleep, so you can't just take a level when your HP is low
-HP does not restore naturally (I recommend just using the Healing spell between combats)

I'm playing a lightly-armored sword-and-board character with a bow for range. No crafting, and I'm using a Bound Sword to keep my carry weight low. Might have to take up Smithing just to keep my Fur Armor useful, though.

Smithing is good. My '360 character does it a lot. It's a good way to make money, selling the stuff you make while you train. Especially the rings and jewelry.

Edit: BTW, Here is an entertaining thread to read.

Yay staying hydrated is quite nice. I have never played any of the elder scrolls games.

If you have a good PC you can buy the collection of the main games.

I got an unexpected request last night. I was speaking to my daughter who is majoring in Psychology (soon to Grad! Woohoo!). She is putting together a speaker panel for the Freshman classes. She asked if I'd be willing to be part of it (I am the first and default T she knows personally). Not sure if the panel will be covering all LGBT or pulling from a spectrum of T, still in drafting stage. I am honored, pleased and anxious. I used to lecture and train in the Military but for slightly different subject. So stagefright is not the issue. I am anxious regarding whether I am worthy enough of representing us.

So started doing my homework regarding LGBT FAQ as well as lessons learned on what not to do/say. As this is a freshmen class(es), I do not need in-depth transition med/policy/politics. It is more of putting a face to LGBT and humanizing my experiences with a willingness to answer or address awkward questions.

Reached out to my local Trans and LGBT resources but I wanted to ask the Paizo LGBT collective for their input. Putting my speaking points together and will refine accordingly both for clear concise communication and time. I have about three months to get my act together.

Excited. Another way to out myself and step proudly. My daughter is so supportive too. Love her.

That's a good child you have.

I got to see my friend today...he seems to be doing slightly better. Hopefully they will start the treatments on Thursday...though it is going to be very probably a long road. But it was good to see him...and I am going to see him tomorrow also.

good for you and him Selene *hugs*

I'm glad things are starting to look better for your friend. Radiation or chemo?

Glad to hear about your friend, Selene. Hopefully progress is steady!

Going to be away for a while. I have to go pick up my mother's glucometer test strips from her pharmacy.

They are still reviewing options...probably are going to start with radiation.

While I was out, someone tried to hit me with an "IRS phone scam." Did I mention recently how much I hate hackers?

Yeah I get a lot of those...I just google the number and it is usually a good way to tell.

The IRS thing amuses me to no end. CLEARLY they don't realize that by invoking the IRS they are committing a level of federal fraud that eclipses any level of monetary gain they might see.

That all aside, may everyone have a harmonious morning in this world of our wisdom, and may calm prevail during stress.

Hmm, the Paizo site must be hungry, since it apparently ate my post yesterday. Oh well.

That sounds awesome, ReckNBall, and that's great to hear, Selene, I'm glad he's doing better and you're getting to see him again.
