Just discovered that the beach I have been going to for years is an LGBT historic site dating back to the 1940's. I normally go there in the off season, and it is fairly deserted, but I was there yesterday, and it was well attended by an incredibly diverse, and scantly clad assortment of people.

I would like to personally invite everyone to come and enjoy the beach! Whether you are a jaded NYC local who enjoys watching beautiful people (looking at you Freehold!) or a visiting out-of-towner looking for an inclusive space, you are welcome!

I think the park is free, (maybe they change for parking?). I ride my bicycle there, or you can take a bus or subway. If anyone has any questions, PM me.

Once this sunburn fades, I'll try to organize a bicycle trip there, if people are interested.

PS Check the weather before you go. Depending on wind, water temp, etc. it is often different weather at the beach then the rest of NYC, especially in terms of wind and storms and such.

Riis takes a distant back seat to the village pier and fire island though.

Congrats on making it to the 5th wave, errybody!

5th wave? Whaddyamean Vixie?

Every week is a 5-wave round, with two periods of rest inbetween c: Friday is Wave 5.

dunno, I follow Irish myth and count my waves in groups of 9 :p

That's the difference between waifish kitsunes and hardy orcs, I suppose.

Good afternoon, everyone. Posting from the local library. Only have 4 hours today.

The message boards appear to be dead, and I'm bored. I guess I'll pack up and head home for the day, before it starts raining.

Good morning / day / evening everyone!
I hope you all have a great weekend - or at least a weekend that offers some shelter from the chores of the week.

Good afternoon, everybody. Brought my Dell with me to the library instead of the netbook, so that I can program if I get bored. :)

It's 110 degrees over here with the heat index D: uuuuuuuugUgh

And it's another rainy day in Pittsburgh. *Blegh*

ATM we swap between 90°F/32°C and rain on a daily basis - yesterday I wished for scuba gear to breathe that stuff called air...
Doesn't make dealing with sickness, pain from the kidneys and an ongoigng migraine easier...

Leaving the library 30 minutes early. Sitting beside the A/C vents in the floor has taken its toll. The knuckles in my fingers now hurt.

I can attest to that

I hate when I wake up hours before my alarm and can not go back to bed.

Yeah, that's annoying. Granted I have the uncanny habit of waking up exactly one minute before my alarm goes off -_-

I was that lucky untill a few years ago - since then its one or two hours before my alarm would go off :-(

I know that feeling, Selene.
Hope you all have a good day, regardless of how you slept or woke up.

Here is a post from the Original Poster about the intention of this thread:

Dogbladewarrior wrote:
Alright, slow your roll people. I want this thread to be an oasis of calm where members of the LGBT community can share their stories in a peaceful atmosphere and perhaps make a silly joke or two. Anyone who wants to can comment but I'd prefer if you would make a conscious decision to promote tranquility in writing your posts. Arguments can and should be had about many subjects but here let's all be relaxed and laid back in this particular thread.

Hard to believe that was over 5 years ago!
