Hola all,

As the title says, you are transported through space/time to Golarion.
What would you want to transform into, Character wise...based on your honest assessment of your abilities and actual desires.

For example: I love Wizards, but I am not a huge fan of Sorcs.
However, the reality of spending hours a day./years painstakingly pouring over dusty tomes for power...? EEr... I haven't even fully read the APG yet. However, just having my power, and a cool-assed bloodline to boot? D'uh... (Even though the gamer in me hates the Lvl behind you are for getting your new Spell levels)...See what I mean?

Paladin? Awesome... Other that I think it would be an incredibly boring outlook, am not a super religious person, and am far too disorganized for LG.

See what I'm getting at?
I'd love to be an Elf, but (Let's be honest), I'm a goofball, my Girlfriend is half my age (not to mention that it's 'Open'), I play RPGs,
talk to my cats like they are people. Although ;the Bleaching' has gotten a hold of me as-of-late, I have long blue hair...
Gnome, it is...

I'd love to be a Magus,but...I've been playing guitar since I was 15 (I'm 42), tell jokes, stories (I am THE DM in our circle), I write Limericks... Dig up obscure facts and tidbits. I think it's pretty obvious that I'd have to be a Bard.

So let's go Lvl 7, 25 pt buy, normal 23,500GP wealth. I'd love to see what 'You' would become, made real in this wonderful RPG setting.

You that Wiccan/Goth girl in school? Witches actually rock !
Doing Kung Fu since you were 5? Monks away!
Maybe you always wanted to be Gunslinger, and played 'Young Guns/Clint Eastewood/whatever.

Obviously, folks could post their optimal builds, which might happen. I'd be that ridiculous Aasimar Oracle of the Heavens that I played in a recent Planescape game. But, he sure wouldn't have thought like I do, outside of Color Spraying Ice Devils...But if Ron Boggs' essence transferred to Golarion...Gnome Bard. Nope, I'm going to 'non-optimize', because, really...Bard/Magus is what I'd actually WANT to be...And I'm taking Familar as an Arcana, because I'd WANT an awesome talking cat. See what I mean?

I bet you folks can think up some really fun interpretations of 'you'.

Heck, if I see enough great ones, I'll offer to run a 'You are transported to Golarion' game at Gencon (Definate showing), or Paizocon, if I can make it...

I'll stat myself out in a bit. Post the Golarionized You, with gear that you'd actually love to have (Who wouldn't want a Handy Haversack...my fave magic item ever).

Silver Crusade

Since being the shortest kid in my class all through school, I've always kinda related to halflings. And as a juggler who has actually performed at Renaissance Faires, I could kinda see myself as a bard, though I have absolutely no musical ability.

Since I'm the kind of person that is constantly studying for work and am quite good at thinking outside the box, I'd probably be a wizard or more scholarly type of bard. I'd probably be a dwarf since I focus easily and am pretty tough.

What I'd like to be though is probably a gnome druid.

Liberty's Edge

Human Wizard with one level of Sorcerer and then goes into Dragon Disciple. Dragon color would be either red, gold, or both.

I would have to say that with my love of animals, Hitting things and wilderness survival i would have to be a ranger.

After I suffered a great deal of culture shock and learned the language and felt my way around...

Paladin of Sarenrae. I'd slaughter all the undead in the world. Twice. I'd have a team of Clerics following me around - the only spells they'd know would be "Atonement" for whenever I slew a "Good" or "Neutral" undead.

I'd probably introduce Pathfinder for those long nights around a campfire, using our world as the setting :P

The Harsh Truth: Most of us are commoners with some experts / Aristocrats, maybe a very few PC classes.

Me, I'm pretty sure I'm a human aristocrat.

Exactly

Wizard, so I could fly.

Goblin bard with ranks in Perform (Seduction) and Perform (left-wing oratory). Vive le Galt!

Hmm, Gunslinger 2 / Alchemist 2 / Wizard 2 / Rogue ( Detective Archetype ) 1.

And now. If I remember the results of the "What D&D character would you be" test...

Str. 6
Dex. 17
Con. 6
Int. 17
Wis. 13
Cha. 9

Not 25 point buy I don't think. But it sums me up so much better then a point buy would.

As for items... Masterwork Blunderbuss via Heirloom weapon. Rod of Wonder, And Ioun stones, Lots and lots of Ioun stones. And a bag of Holding at the first available moment.

Silver Crusade

A bit on the shortside, and I like the typical dwarven mindset, so dwarf. I like wizards and clerics, but I don't think the years of study would be my thing. On the otherhand, I am a teller of tales, have a broad smattering of knowledge and trivia, and I wouldn't mind traveling.

So dwarven bard, possibly a divine variant, focused on spellcrafting, story telling, and traveling the lands of golarion.

Dwarf | Bard | Level 7

STR: 12
DEX: 10
CON: 14
INT: 14
WIS: 14
CHA: 14
(Not the most optimal, but more realistic to my abilities)

HP: 32

Saves: fort: 4|Reflex:5|Will:7

Skills: Appraise:3|Bluff:2|Diplomacy:7|Intimidate:2|Sense Motive:7|Knowledge(all):2|Linguistics:1(Japanese)|Perform(Storytelling):7|S pellcraft:7|UMD:7

Feats & Gear: Who knows, probably would have invested in real estate and various enterprise, and feats would likely go towards enhancing magic or survivability. Oh, and leadership.

I would be rogue, human or half elf. I wouldnt be about adventuring, I would be about sneaking and stealing, Oh and sweet talking too

According to what I would WANT to be?

Aasimar Bard. Look, the adventures are fun to pretend at and all . . . but much like on earth, if I were going to spend the rest of my life on another planet, forget being the strongest, or best with a bow and arrow, or able to create fireballs. Know how the strongest guy you know is always the first to be asked whenever somebody needs help moving? Imagine always being the first asked to wade into the swamp and kill a troll uprising. No thank you to that. The smart guy is always pinged for projects at work and held responsible when they go awry. In a world where magic can wind up summoning demons from the abyss, do you really want to be on the hook for that? Meanwhile you notice how there always seems to be that guy who is just barely competent, but still manages to take all the credit and shirk all the blame? CHA may be a dump stat for a game where you're rewarded for killing trolls, but in reality, it will always be the biggest asset you could have.

Life is best if you can be the best looking person in the room and play guitar. High school taught me that lesson quickly and brutally. If I get to choose what to be, I choose that.

Now, according to what would fit my personality and personal attributes best? I already took that test:

Half-Elf Wizard

STR 10
DEX 8
CON 10
INT 16
WIS 8
CHA 12

I've always been an avid reader. I have a high IQ and easily learn new things, but I'm also a very stereotypical absent-minded professor type. I'm also blind as a bat, so low WIS. Half-Elf from not really fitting into my community politically or philosophically.

What I would like to be and what I probably would end up being are two different things.

What I'd like to be:
A high level Undead Lord Cleric of Urgathoa, with a vast army of undead minions at my beck and call, and my phylactory nearing completion that would give me virtual immortality. I would also live in Geb, where that sort of thing is not only accepted, but encouraged.

What I'd end up as:
Low level Commoner or Expert who had just been found trying to take holy orders in Rahadoum!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Personally, Id be a wizard. Wresting ancient lore from books is already a hobby. And it gives me power over the cosmos? Im in.

I often find books preferable to people, and would probably fall tragically into lichdom to save the inconvenience of eating, sleeping, or dieing.

Sign me up to be a druid. How cool would it be to have your own pet Ankylosaurus ?

2 people marked this as a favorite.

I'd be dead.
Before I knew what was going on, some random encounter would occur, and a goblin would slice me open with a rusty dog slicer.

Sorcerer. Not sure what bloodline but Sorcerer.

Improved Fly, and Greater Teleport are must takes.

I'm going to roam the world.

Also I'm going to take all the published books and modules, and put them in a bag of holding.

Golarion won't know what hit it.

Liberty's Edge

If you actually want full stats I'll include them later. But for now at seventh level I'd be a Human Fighter (Two-Handed Fighter) 4/Sorcerer (Draconic Bloodline) 1/Dragon Disciple 2.

Probably a Half-Dragon Human.

Then as for classes, I'd probably eventually be a Fighter 5/Wizard 5/Eldritch Knight 10.

On top of that, probably be two-weapon fighting. And would sure like a racial ability to turn into a dragon (I won't be evil even if I am red, I'll just be the guy that helps out good folks... Oh and fly. Flying is sweet.)

Dang I don't see a Couch Potato class, PRC< or archtype :)

hmm what to want to be? I love to read, read alot, and am competent in reading comprehension.. I could probably be a wizard- though at my age that would be unlikely.

Wizard would still be fun- if alot of work. Not sure I could be a sorc. The abilities are nice but I don't think my charisma is all that stellar.. though i suppose there is always that one archtype that bases it on int.

I'm no genius but I think my int would be the higher of the two stats.

Any of the martials could work- though they'd require some /extensive/ bootcamp first. I'm more couch potato than athelete- by far. :)

Oh boy. Let's see here.

Tiefling Witch. People tend to distrust me for some odd reason and I also have some screwed up people in my family tree. Plus, why read a book, pray to a deity, sing, or swing swords when I could just as easily sell my useless soul to gain power NOW! Plus, I would adore turning people into newts (and cookies, yum!) as well as being able incinerate buildings, fly, and my cat gets to come with me. Half-Devil "Warlock", now that's heavy metal! (Dio horns)

Despite being 5' 10" I have been likened to a dwarf. I think it's the beard and broad shoulders. I started out as a commoner, but multiclassed into expert. I think I would enjoy taking some levels of ranger.

yes, but are you smart?

You need 19 int to cast the greatest of witchery spells.

I'd be a half-elf ranger/cloistered cleric that dabbled in all sorts of Knowledge skills, specializing in dart throwing.

The last time I took a Weschler (spelling) IQ test I had a result of 129 (which I'm guessing is around a 13 int-stat wise?). So yes, but not INCREDIBLY. I'd have to work on it, and naturally buy a headband of intellect.

My high attributes would be Strength and Intelligence, low are Dexterity and Charisma. I studied science in college and grad-school, I've also done SCA fighting and some boxing. I would probably either be an alchemist/fighter or magus. I'm short and chubby with a beard, and a slow runner, I'd probably be a dwarf.

Could the reason they distrust you be related to your desire to turn them into small amphibians and sugary snacks? Just a thought.

Wizard (probably Spell Scholar); either Elf (I can live for Centuries!) or Tiefling (partly fiendish monster, mwahaha!). Might go into Loremaster (if not already scroll scholar).
Alternatively, Alchemist, MAgus, or Sage Sorcerer
High Con and Str, enormous Int, lowered Wis and Cha.
(I am an aspiring absent-minded professor.)
I would invest heavily into Knowledges, particular Arcana, Planes, Dungeneering, Nature and History
The gods... Many interesting ones, especially those that are ...not reallly... intended for PCs (like Abraxas, Dagon, Haagenti, the Major Mythos Monsters), though as I am very nmuch not religious (and considering that "freeroaming soul exploring the multiverse forever" sounds like the best afterlife for me), I would probably be not-worshipper.

Do we keep our metagame knowledge, by the way?

Well, only those who deserve it: Thieves, murderers, politicians, evil cultists and the like. They make the best tasting cookies. As for everyone else, they're just racist.

Me I've been practicing martial arts for over 20 years, so while I would Luke to agree that I would be an npc class something tells me I'd be wrong. I'm currently emploied as a crime scene investigator with my ms so I'm not stupid. In my off time I teach martial arts. I enjoy a heavy affair with music, and used to perform ... So without further ado here is my block
Lv>2
Monk (sensei)/bard(investigator)

Str 12-13 I've never claimed to be strong.
Dex 14-17 depending on how you assign stat bench marks
Con 14-15 just cause I'm in pretty good shape.
Int 16-19 again depending o. Where the benchmarks are.
Wis 16- 17
Cha 14-15 people generally like me

Why transform at all? Play a character out of time.
Anachronistic Adventurers.

half elf duel weilding fighterish (maybe barbarian).

If I did, one thing I always wanted to play was a Half-Janni. This isn't the power gamer thing. I have always liked the flavor of that combo. Suli don't really seem right.

sunbeam wrote:

Indeed. At the very least the Inner sea guide. It's the like the Hitchhikers Guide but minus the mixed bag content and the scarcity of interesting characters.

As for me: From what I know about myself. Some kind of intuitive spell caster.

I might be an immortal, indestructible creature with about 6 con that is constantly under the effects of the sickened and shaken conditions, able to attempt a will save to suppress these conditions for a number of rounds per day equal to character level. The check may not be attempted again in the same day if it fails, even if rounds of the ability remain unused.

I have never been injured in my life. I have been here nearly three decades and the worst damage I've ever incurred has been catscratches, scuffs and maybe a couple of sprains.

People boggle at this. I do not get injured. It simply does not happen. However, my physical wellbeing is disastrous as is my general psychological state. I am irreparably damaged, but not by anything that could be termed as hit point loss.

If this were a video game, I would be one of those non-combat characters that simply cannot be harmed by any explosions and destruction the other characters set off nearby but has dialogue relating only to infirmity, despair, and RPGs.

What would I want to be based on my general proclivities? Probably a wizard that makes golems. I studied robotics and machine learning at university.

Dark Archive

I would place myself at high intelligence and constitution, middling wisdom and strength, and low charisma and dexterity.

I think I would be a wizard, maybe not the hardest working one, but a lazy fairly talented one. However, it could be that I could get my act together to study magic due to general interest, but I still think I'd be a little lazy at it. My specialization would probably be divination as I am not that much of a think on my feet kind of person and foreknowledge is always a good thing to have.

As for a race, if I had to pick one it would probably be either a gnome since I am easily distracted or a dwarf for how stoic about things they are.

Whatever, I was it wouldn't be an adventurer, that's for certain. I would be more likely to be an npc that you run into at some lab during the adventure without making much of an impression and being perfectly happy to go back to my research.

Scarab Sages

A gnome wizard.

An old school gnome, wearing a pointy hat, living in a small but comfortable gnome home under an oak tree, with a large garden.

I would also take immortality as my level 20 discovery.

Grand Lodge RPG Superstar 2015 Top 32, RPG Superstar 2012 Top 32

I'd hope to be an Expert, rather than any PC class. With a CON like mine, I'd have no business going adventuring.

Starfinder Superscriber

From what all my friends tell me, I'd be a Bard Oracle (life) multiclass. My group has described me as epic charisma, so might as well use it. I also have a sneaking suspicion I'd end up as a half elf. Stats wise, I'd be rocking the charisma, good wisdom and intelligence, fairly good strength, average dex and con. Bardic performace would be storytelling and dance.

The Pathfinders Guide to Golarion!

Where's my towel?

I took the test as well. Human ranger (level 2 even!). I'd have an animal companion eventually and that would be awesome.

Half-orc wizard/bard

If I use the NPC 3-point build:
Str 7
Dex 8
Con 11
Int 17 (+1 at level 4)
Sag 8
Cha 13 (+1 at level 8)

A jack-of-all-trade combining study and intuition ; not very perceptive, clumsy, and no strength. Better charisma than average (but no rank in Diplomacy, only in Perform skills), high intelligence.

Jiggy wrote:

CON would be my major concern too. Despite being a nature loving hippie at heart I don't particularly like getting it on me too much (I would HATE swamps) and get ridiculous hay fever so I'd probably be an aloof mountain druid recluse with a level or two in either ranger (favoured enemy insects) or barbarian for the rage (I've been told I over-retaliate).

Stats would look something like 12Str 14Dex 10Con 16Int 16Wis 8Cha so hardly optimal but not terrible.

Also, who wouldn't love shapeshifting...

How are you going to get to level 20 living in a small comfortable gnome home under an oak tree? JK.

I would go Beast-bound Witch. Less study then a Wizard. I totally win all arguments with my Evil Eye, and being a tad bit anti-social (other than Tabletop) a witch sounds like the class for me.

Plus I get immortality at level 10. By level ten I should have enough wealth to do pretty much whatever I want.

Silver Crusade

half elf oracle, fits my persionality well, though my actual faith in christ would create a few odd moments in golarion, and locals would think either that I was a prophet or try and burn me as a heritic, depending on what nation I wound up in.

Dark Archive

I dunno. I'm most qualified to be an elf bard (high Int, high Cha, lots of skill points, violin, love of stories and ballads and ancient lore), but I might end up with a couple levels of barbarian. I'm not terribly strong, but I have good Con, and if there are evil people around and I'm allowed to smash them, I'm definitely going to start learning how to do that.
