I've been collating data from a large number of RPG Kickstarter (or similar websites) projects to get a more accurate view of the "Best Practices" in doing an RPG patronage project. So far I have over 130 projects being tracked. I want to get as big a sample as possible for my analysis and so I'm just wondering if I have all of the Pathfinder compatible projects that have come out so far:
Rogue Glory – A Pathfinder Supplement
NeoExodus Adventure: Origin of Man for Pathfinder RPG
Advanced Encounters: Alternate Objectives
Age of Lords Campaign Settling Rulebook & Player's Guide
Free RPG Day NeoExodus Adventure for Pathfinder
It Came from the Stars: Bringing the Weird to Pathfinder RPG
Admiral o' the High Seas - Naval Adventures (Pathfinder, 4e)
I'm actually surprised at the rather short list. I'd have figured the PF 3pp scene would have more quickly embraced the Kickstarter approach.

Sadly, as I understand it, running a Kickstarter project is only open to US residents. That dooms Raging Swan to not kickstarting anything!
;-(
IndieGoGo does not have that limitation.

Yeah, IndieGoGo lets non-US residents create a project.
There is also 8-Bit Funding and RocketHub that are similar. I'm not positive if non-US residents can create projects for them, but in looking over their websites nothing is saying you can't.
I've read, though I can't find a source right now, that some US game companies are willing to partner up with overseas companies to basically act as the surrogate for Kickstarters.

It's not PF related, but here is Crypts and Things which is a successful project that was from someone in the UK.

I think you might be missing a bunch of stuff from Open Design, for example, Midgard.
Thanks.

Good to know, considered it but then thought the time passed already. I'll consult with the incorporeal and nebulous gods of expendable resources.

Just noticed this one...Pure Steam PFRPG compatible setting
I love steampunk and I like what I'm seeing so far. I just wish there was more previews and a breakdown of what's inside. $50 for a 200 page book is spendy, even if it is hardcover.

Hey, guys!
As my first post here, allow me to introduce the Kickstarter for Quicksilver, from Jeff Dee, Mike Nystul (of Whispering Vault and Nystul's Magic Aura fame), and Talzhemir Mrr!
What would it be like if a quaint medieval fantasy realm had humans, goblins, and elves living peacefully side-by-side? What if there were psionic powers? What if there was a strange substance that "mind-mages" could shape, and imbue with mystical abilities? And, what if that process occasionally went awry, producing creatures of living metal that immediately turned on their would-be manipulators?
Why, then, my friends, you would have Seloria, the land of Quicksilver!

Here is an interview podcast that I did for GeekSourcing about our current Kickstarter project, NeoExodus Adventure: Origin of Man for Pathfinder RPG. It's a nice little "look behind the curtain" of what we did to make our Kickstarter projects successful. Enjoy!

Here's one: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/100743523/the-terah-project-steampunk-f or-pathfinder-role-pl?ref=search
Not sure about any information on it.

I agree. I enjoy how Kickstarter let's me fund projects I want to see released; but wish that every Developer had a PR side to them.
Both Pure Steam and Terah have very little information that'd be selling points outside of the "It's Steampunk, it's Pathfinder. I need it." crowd.
Which of course I'm totally one of. :D

And don't forget the Terah Project
It's similar to Pure Steam, but we're using all the base classes from Pathfinder. There's magic in Terah and more than enough room for both worlds. =)
We have a playtest document here at Paizo.com. Feel free to help us test things out. We'll be adding more to the document soon as well, including the "spark" class. No it's not a rip-off of the spark from Girl Genius. It is the spark from Girl Genius. We're thrilled to have received permission to use the term for that class.
And just because the question comes up everytime I post about the project, here's the now official response on when print editions will be available.
If there is enough market support to allow for print editions, we will pursue it. This means that we will charge normal market prices for our books when and if they become available($40 for the hardcover World Guide and $15 for our adventure paths). We will not use kickstarter funds to create a serious overage of over-priced books.

ZDPhoenix, feel free to ask whatever else you want. There's a blog that's been releasing most of our information at wordpress, but since the blog started a bit before the kickstarter, I haven't dupicated the information. I'm seeing that might be a good idea.
Our Lead Designer is on the boards and ready to answer any of the technical questions you might have. There's also a good post at rpg.net
And yes, I missed you mentioning my project. With the pure steam quote further down, I just assumed the link was a borked version of the that. =P

Question for all of you--if FGG was to use this service--is there interest beyond just getting the book? Examples might be trips to Dallas NTRPG or PaizoCon to play with us and drink our beer, "special" editions or customized books, othger perks...Maybe a copy of RA Reloaded to go with RA Complete, or a copy of my original manuscript and maps of the dungeon. Stuff like that.
Reason I ask is that I would really like to expand into distribution again--but we cannot afford to do it with the percentage paid by distributors.
Would anyone pay, say, $5k for an all expenses paid trip to Paizocon + other perks?
We have enough capital to keep doing what we are doing--but its a thought.

I'd like to point out that since you made an effort to organize info about Terah, you got some new backers to your project.
Congrats and looking forward to it coming out. :)
I hope that you guys can get at least a softcover reward out on Kickstarter, but regardless; I like what you're doing here. Keeping things closer to Pathfinder, than completely reinventing the wheel is something that other projects aren't doing right now.

I'd certainly be interested in 'perks', but they would probably have to be something concrete - additional books / extra content etc. I've funded a couple of kickstarters, but as I'm in the UK face to face meets / games etc in the US aren't really practical.
