ok, I resently got access to this on an AR.

Cayden Cailean's silver tankard ----- 50gp

As this is with my Cleric of Cayden, I bought it first this. Now, what the heck is it?

I feel like an Opra fan with a new gadget offered on the show. Ordered it and now I'm not sure what it does (if anything) and even if it does nothing I'm ok with it... 'cause it's got Caydens' name on it and it involves beer.

My guess is a it's a double cost silver holy symbol?

Is it from some source book?

What scenario is it from? If it is from an old Season 0 or Season 1, have you checked the old Campaign Setting book for the item?

I don't think it is anything special, other then a Silver Tankard, there is a Tankard some of the Clerics are carrying for the same price, described like this.

silver tankard with darkwood inlays and copper filigree

Cool Holy Symbol. I will drink to that! Finally, a religion I can get into.

Scenario it is from:
It's listed on the AR for #40 - Hall of Frunken Heroes. I don't recall it coming up in the scenario anyplace, and I'm not sure if I have access to the old Campaign Setting book.

I don't think it's anything special either, just maybe a double cost silver holy symbol...

spoiler:
That item appears as part of the equipment issued to the clerics, & several times they're used as improvised thrown weapons.

Personally, I'd use it as a silvered holy symbol &/or masterwork drinking tool.

Masterwork drinking tool? Profession Power Drinker, +2 to day job rolls. Keep in mind you must deduct 50 gp from each day job roll due to costs of drinks and bad decisions made while under the influence.

Actually, the +2 drinking tool is a funnel and hose.

Within the church, this is closely followed in popularity by the plate helm with two tankards with hoses attached. This allows warriors and fighting priests the luxury of not taking a break from fighting to have their beverage of choice.

The downside is that all that beer sloshing around really provokes giant slugs.

It's odd that Profession (Power Drinker) uses the wisdom stat....

Not at all. A high wisdom means they can take more wisdom damage!

Scarab Sages

In the old D&D Arms and Equipment Guide (3.5) Fortitude saves were made, similar to a poison, and the drinker took Wisdom and Dexterity damage! There was even rules for when you pass out and possibly have alcohol poisoning!

The tankard is kind of a cool item!

Well, if you like that one, try:

Tankard of the Drunken Hero

Aura Faint transmutation; CL 3rd
Slot none; Price 5,300gpl Weight 1 lb
Description:
"This simple battered tankard is usually made of copper or tin. Its handle is slightly open at the bottom to let you slip it through a belt for easy carrying. You gain a +1 resistance bonus on Fortitude and Will saves. Once per day you may fill it with wine, ale, or some other alcohol and drink from it to gain the benefits of a remove fear spell.
If Cayden Cailean is your patron, the tankard counts as a holy symbol. Once per day, you may drink an alcoholic beverage from the tankard to gain the benefits of aheroism spell. Once per day, the tankard automatically unties ropes that bind you or unlocks locks that hinder you (including loosening manacles attached to said locks). This typically occurs about 5 minutes after the tying or unlocking and only affects bindings that are directly on your person. This power is subtle enough that it is unnoticable unless someone checks the bindings to make sure they are secure.

How's that for a cool holy symbol?

So, would my fighter who has Cayden Cailean listed as his diety, and has run through the Hall of Drunken Heroes, qualify?

As long as he followed the guidelines, I don't see why not. Declare Cayden your patron and be within one alignment step. I suppose the question will arise if patronage refers specifically to clerics/inquisitors or not, but I'm good with it. Playing in the HoDH doesn't have any thing to do with it, IMO.
