Well just putting it out there I would love to see the proteans get more coverage especially more different proteans to fill up my encounters (hell I wish all the neutral outsiders would get more support now that we have all the evil guys well covered). I really can't wait to till my players get to interact with them more especially through things like planar ally or binding. I've always pictured this massive protean showing up and what it asks for is something it hasn't seen before that is original and unique and would love to see a party play this out.

P.S. Loved your work on the daemons, suffice it to say they will be showing up in game pretty soon as well and I can't wait to see how they handle them.
Drat. But yeah back to the point love what we have so far but looking for something a bit less aggressive want something that seems weird and off putting because of the juxtaposition of musics rather then from the noise level/aggression it is trying to convey.

But that isn't really that helpful to anyone nor in the spirit of the post. I like the idea of normal music taken and distorted cause it takes what is normal and we expect to hear and turns it on it's head which to me is what I think of when I think of proteans. They are a species that is in a constant state of flux perpetually changing and shaping the world around them to fit their mercurial whims into beautiful if totally foreign things and I think that would leave a person awestruck and a little bit afraid maybe like how the explorers in mountains of madness felt the first time they lay eyes on the foreboding hills, they are beautiful and awe inspiring but ominous and foreboding at the same time.
yeah but by that logic they couldn't be represented at all really they are beings of pure chaos that have infinite lifespans, are as mutable as water, and older then much of the known universe so they really couldn't be represented by much of anything in any format. The long and short of it is that I'm planning on having some protean inklings that will be showing up later in the campaign and remembered a reference to the proteans as working in chorus's. That being said I've been wanting to find a good musical cue to signify their approach that my PC's can start to associate with the lords of primal chaos and I would love to know if you guys have found anything that would really work for them. A few qualifiers beforehand though. First if it could be something that is/sounds like a chorus or brings on those same kind of mental analogies that would be preferred. Second it needs to be something i can also talk over and run in the background while the characters talk setting the mood for the scenes. Now lastly I would love one that kind of gives off a curious vibe, the proteans are sort of discovering something of the parties and are not quite sure how to react/handle quite yet but are chomping at the bit to investigate and the PC's are getting an inside look in the this chorus's discussion on the topic and I would like to have something that echo's that vibe of "unsure curiosity" if that makes any sense at all.
So looking for some help here.
