His cameo in Back to School, along with the payoff joke about it later, was very funny.

Not a movie, but I *LOVED* his supercilious murderer Joey Heric on "The Practice," but for a movie I liked Star Trek III: The Search for Spock.

But I don't remember if it's got Bach in it.

Hmm, I guess not. But Wendy Carlos did do a whole series of albums called Switched-On Bach!

Anyway...

Too close to call between the original Superman and Batman Forever (yes, it was Schumacher dialed up, but it was dialed up JUUUUUSSSSSTTTT to the edge of camp-crazy... plus, yknow, DREW BARRYMORE as the delicious Sugar... sadly, it inspired them to dial it up to a million in the awful next Bat-movie).

My Pick Would Be <drum roll>:
Time Bandits

Osirion RPG Superstar 2008 Top 4; Contributor; Publisher, Legendary Games

Return of the Jedi with Kenny Baker as R2-D2.

If that's a cheat and you have to see them on screen (or if you just say Kenny Baker wasn't *really* a "star" in those movies), I was gonna say there's no school like the old school and pick The Wizard of Oz, but I think I'll go with Legend instead, even if it's 90% due to Tim Curry's awesomeness and 10% due to Mia Sara's pimptacular dress!

Favorite animated (including CGI) swords & sorcerery-flavored film?

Does Disney's Robin Hood count? Because since Ive been a toddler, I bet Ive seen that movie a hundred times, especially since I hooked my daughter on it.

Favorite American football movie? (inspired by Lady Cluck's escape from the archery tournament. Our favorite part.)

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Every time the Sheriff of Nottingham extorts that last coin from the dormice at the church, I rededicate myself to the cause of international proletarian socialist revolution.

And then I cry.

Vive le Galt!

Favorite movie from iceland?

I don't know if I've ever seen an Icelandic film. Hmmm....

Grand Lodge

They make films in Iceland?

Apparently, they do.

The closest I can come up with is Dancer in the Dark because it starred Bjork.

But that was made in my hometown, Doodlebug! (Björk enjoyed riding through town on a bicycle when she was taking a break from not getting along with Lars von Trier.)

Best Icelandic movie I've seen is the Herring Western Í skugga hrafnsins (Shadow of the Raven).

Ulysses (1954) with Kirk Douglas, from Homer's Odyssey

This question has come up before, so this is for someone who hasn't answered this question before:

Favorite Kirk Douglas movie, and if different favorite role?

Osirion

Paizo Superscriber; Pathfinder Battles Case Subscriber; Pathfinder Comics Subscriber

My favorite movie starring Kirk Douglas is The Final Countdown.
But my favorite character is Archie Long from Tough Guys.

Favorite movie where the star is over 65 years old.

I was gonna say Emile, but Ian McKellen was 64 when he did that, so... Thinking cap on.

I love The Final Countdown! I don't know if it's a guilty pleasure or a lost classic, but count me in as a fan. :)

Well, I'm not sure if you'd call him *THE* star, but I'm totally down for the cause with Christopher Lee in the LotR movies.

If you're looking for someone who's more like the headlining star of a movie, I'd say The Rock is definitely a fine guilty pleasure starring Sean Connery (I really enjoyed Finding Forrester as well).

Favorite movie about a child prodigy?
