I see a smoking crater in the distant future. I assume it's the aftermath of Baird's head exploding because Nikolai has bested his greatest efforts to kill him.
Strange, I see the smoking crater being Nikolai because his defenses are cut from "respectably high" to "woefully deficient" whenever somebody pokes him in combat.
Fortunately, the Sun Witch is a goddess of fire, so I suspect it means she approves of how Nikolai spent his one round not begging too piteously.
This thread is makin me lul.

I will win this war of attrition.
It's a shame you'll lose your character.
144. Damage. On the first attack.

Psh, like that is going to happen. Please.
144 is the number of days you're going to be catatonic from not being able to bring me down.
143. Damage from the second attack. Still up?

And I'm still up, fancy that.
Its like The Count from Sesame Street aquired the half-diabolic template
It's what, 140 more days of listening to Joe's ego mewl defiance? I've recived word from the rest of his party that they're willing to send him first into all rooms in exchange for a degree of amnesty.

I don't see why amnesty is even necessary. I mean it's not like Kyle is going to be able to kill me (or the rest of my party) anyway. I'll give him cake, because he'll need the comfort food after realizing how futile it is to try and take down Nikolai.

I'm having problems with this.
I can't tell if Baird's inability to kill Nikolai at-will is a sign of weakness or a sign of maturity.
On one hand, Baird can kill PCs at-will and he used to be happy to set up double walls of fire from which to blash fireball after fireball upon hapless PCs...and that was a good thing. The old Baird would have Joseph rolling up a new character by now *if* Joseph even wanted to return to PFS.
However, that Baird is taunting and toying with Nikolai could be construed as an advancement of his pain instincts (something that I like to nourish and promote) and slowly killing Nikolai over a period of days (while taunting all the while) is a step closer to what I like to see in someone who wishes to join the Painful League of Pain.
Yeah...I got mixed feelings.
One thing is for sure, I wouldn't want to be Nikolai.

You're right, there is no try. I need to amend my last sentence to read "futile it is to take down Nikolai."
Definitely a sign of weakness, Painlord. I am wearing down the mighty Baird day by day.
139 days. Resistance if futile.
This is all too much, Nikolai has no hope for surviving at Kyle's table. Resistance is futile, I have no idea why I even thought living through the Baird was even possible. Get my tombstone ready for GenCon.

Well played.
Too bad that joke is just going to add to your suffering...from what I know of Baird: he's totally devoid of anything resembling a sense of humor or appreciation of anything fun. (Which is why I like him, of course.)
So...yeah...good luck with that.

It's ok, I've already negated the synapses that allow me to experience pain. How can I suffer when I can feel no pain?
/That must be unfathable to you Painlord.

Unfathomable? Oh no, Caubocalypse, very understandable.
I drink beer. I know how to kill pain. :)
What's unfathomable is why Baird doesn't just will Nikolai to implode on the spot. I suspect he's waiting for the next high holiday of whatever tart god Nikolai worships to strike (in an attempt to make it more dramatic).
I suspect, but don't know. Another mystery of the universe, I suppose.

Sarenrae will never let me fail.
Hmm, are we allowed to bring beer to the Special?

Yeah, I noticed this thread slid off the front page... ;) Joseph, I think you're wearing him down, he's starting to slip!
