Alan (Bevan)--how bad was it hurt?

Hi Bill. It is all perfectly serviceable no major damage other than cover damage. My Paizo orders have suffered similar damage in transit over the years. Some sample of the damage:

- ST has a crease in the lower right cover corner and some slight spine cover damage.
- S&W has some creasing in the cover in the lower left and some dog earing.
- Demonheart probably got the worst of it with some decent dog earing on the rear cover.
- City of Brass was untouched! Yay!

The Slumbering Tsar is the answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything!

Why do I say this? Because #42 of 500 has arrived!

The King is dead...long live the Tsar!

No, seriously, when I put this monster on my shelf, it growled, then it ate Kingmaker. All six volumes.

Kthulu, that... is... awesome!

#46 has been rescued from the clutches of customs and now rests its unfortunately rather dented, yet still glorious form in Erlangen, Germany.

Oh, and I was actually touched you guys mentioned humble me in the foreword. Thank you so much, you brightened an otherwise gloomy day!

What?!?! The guy who largely got this whole ball rolling can't have an "unfortunately rather dented" copy. Send an e-mail to Bill, EZG.

Shadow Lodge

Heh. After reading that End was mentioned in the forward, I took a look at it myself, and was suprised to see my pseudonym (or is that pseudopod?) mentioned as well. Thanks guys, I'm flattered!

Shadow Lodge

Almost forgot to mention. I did find one typo last night as I was thumbing through, marveling at this monstrocity. Sorry I can't be more specific, but I had already turned off my computer.

It's at the beginning of the bonus chapter, and there's a reference to a table on page "XX".

Yeah, German Customs holds back all items whithout declaration of content on the outside.

No dents in my book.

Die you also have to pay 7 Euro something custom tax?

Anyway, customs also held my Adventurer, Conqueror King book for more than 2 weeks.

Tharen,

Since my box was chock-full with FGG/NG-awesomeness (I now own a copy of every single NG-book ever published), I actually had to pay €20 to rescue it from customs - and yeah, if you FGG-guys read this, please put a declaration on the German shipments - my local customs is a two-hour drive from my location.

Greg,

thank you, I dropped Bill a line and also mentioned the customs of our customs. ;)

Oh, man, page XX is AWESOME!

However, they only put Page XX in certain people's books. I hope you are one of them.

I'm amazed how much they packed onto that page. And the art work too - stunning!

Doubt any reason to get antzy--but it does seem unusual. I know for certain I sent a couple to folks on Tuesday that have not arrived yet--could just be volumes at a postal depot I suppose--but weird that Priority mail did not arrive in 5 days.

Keep me posted

Bill, did not show up today. Here's hoping for tomorrow!
We are heading out for Dallas soon--if for some reason this does not arrive, I'll take good care of you when we return

Thank you and I will keep you posted. I am also going out of town from the 6th through the 11th, so if it doesn't come today, the next message from me will be on the 12 th.

Have a great time in Dallas!

Bill,

Just wanted you to know that the package never showed up, so I can only assume it is in the mail-Abyss. I e-mailed you directly. Thank you for the assistance.

Quick question. I didn't have the money previously to subscribe (though Greg Vaughan recommended it to me) I just purchased the Hardback/PDF bundle from Paizo yesterday.

Is the bonus '15th' installment only in the hardback prints of those who subscribed?

Or does the hardback print edition I just bought from Paizo also include it?

Just wondering, I'd hate to think I'm missing something.

Frog God Games

I think that the hardcover available at Paizo includes the bonus chapter. It just isn't signed or numbered.

Awesome, thank you!

Frog God Games

Yes, the bonus chapter is available in all of the print versions. It's just not in the electronic format (PDF).

I got through all my emails and sent out new books to everyone that requested them due to loss or damage today..(ready for bed now). Thanks all!

If I purchased the print/PDF combo from Paizo, should I get a PDF of the hardcover book? Right now I only have the separate modules in my downloads.

Greg I have a question for you.

I like having Pictures (Descriptions) of the monsters my PCs will be facing so I went through all your sources and I have a few questions about them.

These are the sources I found that I do not own.

Creature Collection
Creature Collection Revised
Creature Collection II: Dark Menagerie
Creature Collection III
Creature Collection III: Savage Bestiary
Gary Gygax’s Necropolis

Of those, is there a difference between Creature Collection III & Creature Collection III: Savage Bestiary or was that just a misprint?

Also the ones just marked Creature Collection, were they not added to Creature Collection Revised?

And the final question for above, is it worth buying the PDFs of them, do they have art for most of the monsters cited?

This is what I do Own.

The Tome of Horrors Complete
Advanced Bestiary
Rappan Athuk Reloaded

So not worried about those.

There were a few not cited

Here are the ones I found

not cited:

Ethereal Marauder
Ethereal Filcher
Arrowhawk
Hagunemnon

All of the above are in the SRD but not republished in a Pazio book, the first 3 were published in Tricky Owlbear's Forgotten Foes. Did you use your own conversion or Tricky Owlbear's?

Did I miss any other Cited Products?

Greg any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Frog God Games

I am not Greg, but I can answer some of your questions.
We had a cadre of conversion experts and converted our own versions. There are some that Paizo, for example, later converted for their Bestiaries that turned out slightly different than ours. I like it as it gives home game designers multiple choices to use for their own encounter designs.

As for the source of monsters that is as accurate as possible. There really is no room for error in citing sources. I am not personally familiar with the Creature Collection books, but I would tend to side with the experts in the titles of the books.

But we made it so that you did not have to go back and purchase out-of-print books. Everything you need to run the monster in question is in the book.

I am just interested in the Original art in the Cited books mentioned, that is why I am asking the questions I asked to find out if it is worth getting those books, and is the art in them, since I am not familiar with them.

Edit: Though the stats are in Tsar, the descriptions and Art are not always, so that is why I am trying to get more info about the original cited in hopes that information is there.

Frog God Games

Creature Collection III and Creature Collection III: Savage Bestiary are the same book.

Having just checked my Creature Collection and Creature Collection: Revised I've noted that while the monster lists are very similar, there are some that were in the original that were left out of the Revised edition.

As to whether or not they're worth purchasing... I think so. Necropolis is a bit over the original cover price but I'm sure that the Creature Collections could be found on the cheap.

I am not coming up with the original Creature Collection as a PDF though.

I know you said just the PDF but Amazon has book 1 for 1 penny and book 2 for 49 cents!!!

+$3.99 S&H...

Still an good price for a marginal book however...

Frog God Games

Some of this has already been answered, so this may be redundant.

Yep, a misprint. Creature Collection III and Creature Collection III: Savage Bestiary are the same book.

Dragnmoon wrote:

I think that the only ones marked as Creature Collection were the various hags and the maybe the tar dragon (I think). In those cases the hags had been changed to templates that I didn't like and stayed with the original versions, and the tar dragon in the original was closer to what I envisioned and so kept it (unless I'm misremembering).

The art in Creature Collection and Creature Collection Revised is largely the same, so I don't think you would need to buy them both. It ranges from fair to very good, so if you're just wanting the pdfs for the art, it's probably worth it. There should be art for each of the monsters used--I can't think of any that did not have an illustration.

The monsters not cited are those int he SRD that have never been updated by anyone, so there was no book to legally cite that I was aware of. They can all be found in the 3.5 MM (except hagumemnon, which is in the 3.0 Epic Level handbook), and those are the only places I know of that would have art for them. They were my own conversions.

There's also a mini-creature collection in Strange Lands. Including the Dragoneet, which I'd love to a) see converted to Pathfinder and b) see as an improved familiar.
