Kingdom Rules 2.0 Questions - Basic

Kingmaker

In the RRR module, they show a 6 x 6 grid to use for building a city. How many cities will fit into a hex?

If I am using 2.0 rules, are the buildings listed in RRR all still available? For example, I did not see exotic craftsman on the 2.0 rules but it is listed as a building on page 59 of RRR.

How did you guys physically build your cities? By hand as a group or with the help of excel or some other program? Any pros and cons?

Thanks,
John

One more follow up - do the 2.0 rules that were posted on this forum totally replace the kingdom building rules in Rivers Run Red?

Are they compatible with future modules? I am assuming there is going to be some mass combat coming in the future for my party.

1. You can have one city, but theoretically any number of districts (each 6x6 grid constituting a district) in one hex. Of course, since each district is apparently supposed to be a mile to a side, that means there's a cieling of... was it around three hundred districts?

2. As I don't know what the 2.0 rules are, I can't answer that directly. And bear in mind that there are a couple of 'rules patches' in this forum, so please clarify which set you're using.

Thanks for responding Mr. the Dark.

What is a good way to let the players build their city manually? Print out a grid and let them write in their new buildings? Suggestions?

In the first few months they will only be able to build 1 building at a time, is that right?

When can the establish a new city in a new grid?

Not exactly sure what you mean here. As far as I know, with the exception of Guide to the River Kingdoms by Jon Brazer Enterprises, there have been no 'updates' to the kingdom rules. At least not officially. there's been alot of forums where patches or fixes were added though. This is the first i've heard of any 2.0 rules, and i frequent the kingmaker forums pretty regularly.

They might be the rules from Book of the River Nations, which has a bit of an updated set of kingdom building rules.

I can't attach a file, but in another thread they have the rules written out in a word dock and call them version 2.0.

I guess they are basically the same rules. I was just confused by this rule document plus the 2 spreadsheets being posted on that thread. One of the spreadsheets does appear to add building.

At what point does the party need to start raising an army? Some of the spreadsheets have army rules.

By the progression of the AP, one is supposed to raise armies during module 5, the War of the River Kings. Raising one before then should be possible, but not ideal, since they have immense consumption ratings and cost a bomb.
