You may remember the excel calendar Vivriel made. I've put together a new updated one that is much easier to modify(adding your own events and such). Currently all Months are on one sheet and set up to print one month per page.

You can download it on my blog or direct link.

If you think it could use some changes or if something isn't working right please let me know. Or feel free to make your own changes. Currently it does not show Solstice and Equinox information.

Forgot to add the Moon Phase Font download.

This is great! I will get back to this with feedback once I actually look at the program.

I like this. I do have one minor niot-pick, though. Both the pathfinder wiki and the Golaropedia note that golarion has 12 months of 30 days each. So Calistril at 28 days is off slightly, and may explain the 8 year cycle for leap years.

Those are both outdated then, that information is from 3.5 pathfinder supplements. 'The Inner Sea World Guide' has changed the days of each month.

This is copied directly from page 248:

Abadius (January) 31 Winter Abadar
Calistril (February) 28 Winter Calistria
Pharast (March) 31 Spring Pharasma
Gozran (April) 30 Spring Gozreh
Desnus (May) 31 Spring Desna
Sarenith (June) 30 Summer Sarenrae
Erastus (July) 31 Summer Erastil
Arodus (August) 31 Summer Aroden
Rova (September) 30 Fall Rovagug
Lamashan (October) 31 Fall Lamashtu
Neth (November) 30 Fall Nethys
Kuthona (December) 31 Winter Zon-Kuthon

OK. Thanks for the update, Mr. Russell.

[Mutters to herself about what that just did to the timeline in her CC PbP. Oh, well, it's just the opening to Harrowstone, so no real harm done. I'll have to keep the update in mind for the rest, though.]

Any chance you can save it as an older, more-compatible .xls format? OpenOffice dislikes the layout and the last copy of Microsoft Office I have dislikes .xlsx files.

There are converters online that you can use. I found one just so I could use it on Excel 2003.

I think there was a loss in conversion though, as now I have #N/A where the holidays would be noted in each day and each month seems to have negative days before the months starts.

Besides that, it looks great. I would change the summary a bit. Change "Summary" to the current year and, if it is possible, have the four major lunar phases replace the number for the day they appear on. That is just a suggestion though, and not really something I am too serious about.

Something that is compatible with excel 2003 would be nice, as I think the converter messed it up a bit.

Yeah, I'm getting similar errors when I open the file directly in OpenOffice.

Aww bummer. I knew I should have made it with OpenOffice in the first place. I'll do a 2003 .xls one, there's one particular function causing the problem with the holiday text.

Try these.

The lunar phases replacing numbers in the summary I don't think is possible with 2003 compatible. I could add more cells in to do it but that's going beyond a summary.

Looks awesome!

Don't worry about moon phases in the summary, that is something I can live without. I only suggested because it was a fun idea and I wanted to suggest something.

It is a good idea, I'm still going to look into it just for fun. I appreciate the feedback.

Btw this can easily be changed in the CORE sheet if you want the calendar to follow those rules. Change C16 through C27 to 30, except for C17(the month of Calistril), which you should change to "=IF(F5;31;30)" without the quotes.

If there is anything else y'all think should be more easily modifiable let me know!

I have been using Vivriel's calendar for some time now. I love this updated version of it, thank you for sharing your work...

Update to the calendar. The number 1 of the Moon Font doesn't show correctly in OpenOffice so I used an equivalent letter instead. I've also moved more options into the 'Year' sheet and think I fixed the Lunar Month bugs. Also the icons for full moon and empty moon were switched for some reason.

I've only updated the ods file.

Just wanted to say "thank you" for this tool. It's cool and I am using it.

I'm having trouble getting the file. Is it too much trouble to get an Excel version? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Does the .ods not work for you in excel?

try this http://dl.dropbox.com/u/61012191/golarion_calender_xl2003.xls

Ok, I had assumed excel could handle .ods files properly. It has just come to my attention this is not the case!

This new excel file works I swear!

For anybody using the Moon Phases another bug has just been fixed. The same links from the last post are updated.

Grand Lodge

I don't know if it is just me, but opening the excel version with Office 2010 gives me these symbols for the moon phases:

Teardrop
File Folder
Finger pointing down
Cloud with a slash through it, or maybe Fist with a slash through it.

Grand Lodge

Never mind. Didn't realize I needed to install the Moon Font separately.

New updates! Due to a Blood of the Moon (PFRPG) request I have added event naming support for all moon phases(first quarter, new moon, last quarter, full moon). And also fixed a phase bug.

Very nice! Thanks for updating and sharing.

You're welcome. As always if anybody has ideas for improvement I'd be glad to hear them.

Another quick update. The moon names are listed. And the phases match Blood of the Moon closely. The aren't exact due to a simple algorithm.

Hello and thank for your work. I do have a question.

Should the full, New and two 1/2 moons be the only ones that appear on the sheet or should I also see crescents and the like?
I'm also seeing a "0" for the first moon in Kuthona.

Yes it is currently only the quarter phases. Thanks for pointing out the '0' I hadn't caught that. It's fixed now.

Nick - I am almost instantly redirected to The Art of Nick Russell when attempting to browse to any of the above links to Golarion Carrion for download of your calendar, and all of the DropBox links are dead. Is the calendar no longer available?

I too am having this problem that Kersic is having

I got to download the files by being quick, but I don't understand how to see the moon phases in the calender.

Sorry for that I'll have a new page for the calendar in a few days. I'm out of town atm.

Thanks for fixing that up so quickly.

Thank you, bless you. It's pretty wicked to have a calendar of events and to be able to track dates with moon phases.

Hi Nick,

Just wondering if you had an alternate delivery method for your calendar files? Your Dropbox links are down (apparently due to heavy traffic).

This is ridiculously useful. Thankyou so much.

Apologies for the Dropbox problems. Whenever they disable links it lasts for two days. If you still can't get the files after that time feel free to email me, and I can send them through email.

This is incredible. I've downloaded this for my Kingmaker campaign, and all I have to say is thank you.

This sounds totally awesome! What holidays are included? Ascendence Day? Armasse? (even more)?

It's only holidays from Inner Sea World Guide. I trie to make it as easy as possible to add your own holidays though. Let me know if you have any trouble with that.

Just an idea I had while I was preparing my campaign: what about adding a random weather generator, so you can display optional weather info for each day of the year? Even more: it would resolve many compatibility issues if it was an editable pdf instead of a excel file (not completey sure if it can be actually done); I would buy that, this is awesome work.

This Calendar is pretty rocking awesome but I have a question:
I'm not really well versed in Excel but is it possible to make each month take up less space? So I don't have to print out a page a month? But can fit maybe half a year to an A4 page?
Cheers

SnowDM wrote:

Remember, there is an Overview calendar on the first sheet. You can select it and print the selection in an A4.

Check your printer settings when the printer dialog pops up. on my Epson, I get the option to print 2 or 4 pages to a page, which lets the printer driver and printer do all the work for me :)
