Prestige Point Award for GM running We Be Goblins

GM Discussion

Grand Lodge 1/5

Hi, as the GM, I ran the We Be Goblins scenario; we loved it.
Today, I went to update the Society session for my players, who each earned the maximum Prestige of 1 point.
But I noticed that when I finished my entries, the system awarded me as the GM 2 PPs.
Do GMs get 2 PP for running a session?
Or are we supposed to be limited to the max available to the players who played the scenario?

They get always 2 minimum prestige for anything I belive.

"They" meaning the GM?

I'm pretty sure the players only get ONE for that scenario...

The answer's in the PFS rules PDF:

WBG! PFS Rules wrote:
The GM likewise earns 1 XP and 1 PA for running the entire module.

Despite being a similar length to a PFS scenario, GMing a session of WBG! gives you two tables of credit towards GM stars, like the other Pathfinder modules.

Yeah something's going on here - the reporting on the site is definitely saying GM 2 for prestige points. Can't be manually changed, either.

Yes.

Yes.

But the reporting system is generalizing. The GM should get the normal maximum Prestige for the scenario/module they are ruinning, despite what the reporting system says.

Currently, the system defaults to 2 Prestige for the GM character whether it is a module with 1 or 4 Prestige, or a scenario with 2 Prestige.

Use the actual, correct Prestige allowed by the rules for the module/scenario run to determine actual GM PC Prestige earned.

I was thinking of running We Be Goblins next month and I was wondering how the Player and GM Prestige works under the new rules. It looks like the how to play rules were removed when they replaced the chronicle sheet and the new sheet doesn't have the max prestige filled in. So does We Be Goblins default to the Sanctioned Mod rules of 3xp, 4 PP? Or am I [hopefully] missing where the rules for We Be Goblins Prestige awards are now located?

The rules are now in the Guide to Pathfinder Society Organized Play.

According to the old PFS module sheet (3 page PDF which included the Chronicle) players should get 1 XP and 1 PA.

But according to the GtPFSOP (v4.1) players would get 1,398 GP, 3 XP and 4 Prestige Points. For a four-hour module.

Also, it was helpful to have the extra info attached to the chronicle, since WBG requires pre-generated characters, and had advice for running a party of goblins instead of regular heroes.

I think it was simply an oversight, as WBG doesn't really conform to the standard sanctioned module format.

I do need to know if I need to grant my future players a bunch of extra stuff, or if it was just overlooked for this module.

You get two GM credits for the purposes of earning GM stars.

Your character gets the same chronicle as the players at your table, including the same ONE prestige point.

Unless I'm missing specific rules for We Be Goblins than yes I have already seen those rules. They are actually the reason why I posted and what I was referring to in my post.

You have summed up what I was trying to ask clearly, thank you. It does seem like an oversight but since I am planning to run this mod I would like to be clear.

The problem is that it no longer states anywhere that en the players get one prestige point. Currently everyone gets 3xp, 4pp if they complete 2/3 of We be Goblins. I was just trying to figure out if that was intentional.

Please don't confuse the issue by getting pedantic about the PFS guide, if you want to make a comment about that, maybe open another thread. The issue is a little confusing as it is and your side comment about the way the PFS guide is worded is not what the OP is asking about.

I apologize, I thought that this thread was appropriate for the question I had and that an answer to my question would also help the OP find the answer he needed as well.

Liberty's Edge 4/5

I believe that in another thread, about the new PFSOP Guide, Mike or Markposted, saying that they were going to get the rules put back into the PDF for WBG, since it is non-standard.

As of the last we heard: 1 XP, 1 PP, 2 points toward GM stars.

No worries. I just think it was confusing an already fuzzy topic.
