Should be. They try to do them every two weeks and the last was February 5th.

Goblin Squad Member

I'm hoping the will open up crowd forging today.

Goblin Squad Member

Mm, they'll possibly show a vid. It kinda needs to be fairly polished I think as an standard-bearer for the crowd-funding/fulfillment (Nevy: Think that's what you were referring to ie the Goblin Store?).

Pantheon by McQuid showed place-holder graphics for their kickstarter which I think really hindered the appeal of that project, I suspect. Some good video goes along way to showing is better than telling you've got evidence for all the wonderful words that mmorpg players hear each time a new mmorpg is announced.

It's probably odd relationship of acceptable graphics being unacceptable on first impressions but if accepted their priority decreases over time compared to the gameplay which carries on increasing in significance.

Hopefully you are correct

Goblin Squad Member

I assumed that was slip of the tongue: "opening up" crowd forging/funding today?

Goblin Squad Member

Eh whatever lol.

Ill rephrase it...

I'm hoping they will open up the give us more money option today.

Not really a slip of tongue as I'm not very familiar with either terms. I just want to give money, whatever crafty name they've come up with works for me.

Goblin Squad Member

Crowdfunding = Goblin Store
Crowdforging = indefinite description involving eg: Forums, polls, feedback and testing and more probably when there's more game-play + development => feedback => new game-development.

Crowdforging was the term brainstormed here on these forums (can't remember who won the golden ticket now). There's a definition here:

Quote:

What is Crowdforging?

Crowdforging is a commitment from Goblinworks to the Pathfinder community to engage directly, continuously, and meaningfully on all aspects of the Pathfinder Online project. Some examples of this will include ways for the community to vote on matters involving the direction, scope and pacing of development, systems to provide feedback on the design as it progresses, two-way communication between the community and the developers to ensure transparency, player councils who will represent the whole community and be consulted on a wide variety of matters both involving the design and the development of the community itself, and regular, formal communication to the community from Goblinworks that will track the progress of the game and identify places where community input is desired. Unlike a lot of traditional game designs that are delivered nearly feature-complete and where feedback from players is limited to bug hunting and mechanical balancing, Pathfinder Online will have a much more community-driven development process. Many game features will be developed and implemented based on prioritization choices made by the community and they will be added to the game through a process of continuous iteration during Beta - the Crowdforgers who are Early Enrollees will be involved not only in playing the game but in shaping its very nature.

Even after Release this process will continue and the community will remain fully engaged with the development team as we shift from building basic systems towards adding additional content and making refinements and improvements to the game.

I pettition that the info provided by AvenaOats on the above terms but added to the Nihimonicon. :)

You're not the first nor the last with that cunning strategy Giorgo!

I've added a Glossary list to the Community Projects section, and listed this. Feel free to suggest others.

No blog today, but Lee is asking to post questions about Alpha/Early Enrollment, Lisa and Ryan have indicated the Goblin Store is soon to open, and most devs are increasingly participating in the forms. All good things I would say... :)

As the divine herald of Pharasma I feel like it is my duty to remind everyone this was originally released like seven days early. Mock as you will or won't ;)

The blog is finally in a reasonable format!

I kept getting an SSL error; turns out my bookmark had "https" instead of just "http". It's working fine now, and yes I like the new format.

Deleted some stuff. Sorry!

That is what you do when you are desperate for scraps of info about PFO! :)

Who needs the NSA, we've got Google!

I am going to be at the Game Developers Conference this week and won't be in the office on Wednesday. With the new website being a real manageable system rather than a collection of static HTML that Paizo has to edit by hand, I am responsible for posting blogs.

So I did the blog this weekend and it is scheduled to automatically appear at noon on Wednesday.

If you happened to find the video, please keep it private until then.

No worries, Ryan. Did not find anything and would never post it anyway.

Thank you for presetting it instead of just putting it off because you are otherwise occupied. No matter how much we get, we are starving for more.

Goblin Squad Member

And who knows, we may see some article coming from the GDC in the next week?

Double whammy!

Like I said, craving for info. Or rather, seeing PFO become known to a wider audience now that alpha is hopefully around the corner. I expect there will be an NDA for Alpha though. Would be cool if the Goblin Squad members had access to any alpha forums at some point(if these are made at some point). Or maybe not, we'd be like rabid dogs, hammering the poor alpha blokes for info.

I don't think you should expect that.

@All - I can't imagine anything we'd try to keep secret about the Alpha. That would not be in the spirit of Crowdforging.

I don't... I don't even visit the site. If anything significant happens, there will be several dozen people posting about it here, trying to get 15 seconds of fame as "first post". I'm more than content to let them do my work for me.

First posts are boring. Considered analysis is interesting.

"The Warrior's Code" private vid will flick in 7 hours (12 East coast time)?

Its up but you have to join the video provider in order to view it. I can't do that from work... :(

Goblin Squad Member

I can't seem to get logged into Vimeo. I can't even get confirmation of password change. I recall some difficulty in signing up at all, last blog.

Goblin Squad Member

I'm having the same difficulty.

Vimeo says it is a private video and that I don't have permission to watch it :(

whole day... RUINED!!

Goblin Squad Member

I think it will go public at 12:00pm Pacific time?

Goblin Squad Member

Can't see video. This is the worst thing to happen ever.

I doubt you actually have to log into Vimeo, the reason it's requiring that you do is that only the Vimeo member who posted it can currently view it. You should be able to view it without logging in just like the previous video. Should be public in 3 hours from the time of this post.

The first day of the last blog, I had to log in to Vimeo to get it to play past 1 to 3 seconds. There after, it will play just fine from the blog. I believe that something was funky with Vimeo, but I am not a techie.

Well that's irritating. Blog was supposed to post at noon, but in suspect it posted at midnight. I made the video public.

Sweet! I won't have to go on a murderous rampage after all!

I would hardly call an early blog irritating to the rest of us ;).
