Update: Since I last checked the Warhorn schedule, it looks as though the intro sessions will also be being run on Sunday. While part 3 clashes with part 1 of The Quest for Perfection, we were able to sign up for parts 1 and 2. So that's pretty much solid Pathfinder Society for all of Sunday and Monday (and, with any luck, one other Pathfinder game amongst the other DDC sessions we've put our names down for).

See you in 10 days ...

I've definitely played the Dundracon lottery over the years. We'll be there should your numbers not be called.

Many thanks to the hardworking PFS folks at Dundracon - they rescued the weekend for us.

My wife got into exactly one of the Dundracon events she signed up for over three days. I did slightly better; I got into two, although I had to withdraw from one when real life intervened. But we were able to get seated in the Pathfinder room. My wife was able to re-schedule her previously-booked "First Steps" parts I & II so that she could also run part III, and two other low-level scenarios as well, before we moved on to "Quest for Perfection". I couldn't join her at most of those tables because of clashes with the one non-PFS event I played in, but I was able to pick up one additional low-level scenario. I also got to observe at a table being GMed by the local VC, with most of the other seats filled by VLs or names I recognize from the forums (hi, Pain Lord!), and one player who I remembered from from my first PFS table; there he had a first-level monk character with an astonishing set of skills, feats, etc., and at the higher-tier table he had a more developed version of the concept. Watching a group of players who all know most of the rules by heart, so they can concentrate on having fun playing the characters, was an educational (and enjoyable) experience.

Finally - special thanks again to Painlord for looking out for our name badges, introducing us to the other PFS officers, and generally going out of his way to make sure our first PFS experience was a positive one.

Making players feel welcome and comfortable isn't simply an important PFS skill for GMs, it's the most important skill.

Thanks for the kind words, JohnF. I'm not worthy but appreciate the thoughts. I'm glad you had fun. And hope your wonderful wife did too.

DunDraCon was a blast. I am stunned by the collective awesomeness of the Bay Area Pathfinder Community to handle the amazing turnout and number of walk-ins that we had.

JohnF, we were expecting *some* walk-ins...not TONS of walk-ins. While planning, we expected 4 to 6 tables a slot. That we had to expand to 7 to 9 tables a slot was a testament to our Community to our leadership (Josh and Azmyth) to find the judges (and them willing) to make tables happen.

My shout outs (woefully insufficient...Josh will have more) include:

V-L Joshua Archer He who rocked and lead and never didn't have a smile on his face even when a few judges had emergencies and couldn't show up. He was amazing.

V-C Azmyth My captain. He was amazing...ran a great session of Carrion Hill for a bunch of yahoos, organized tables, schmoozed players, schmoozed Dundracon staff...he is a master. He's really good.

Alex D. Signed up to work with new players for every down period during the con: answering questions about PFS, Pathfinder, and helping people level characters between every slot. He was really good.

V-L Will Johnson At a certain point Will just makes me give up trying to be the best ever because I know I'll never be as good a player/GM/face as he is. He's simply the best all-round personae that I know in PFS. And he got 3 of his Fresno crew to come to the con as well. He's ridiculous.

Josh M This guy came and ran Carrion Hill. Few players make me laugh like he does. He brings such great energy to the table and the room.

DJ Cherry Pie She rocks. She stepped up and ran when needed. And she made friends. Rocking. (JohnF, she ran for your wife thrice!)

0gre Came and judged his own mod, repeatedly. And signed autographs. And was just nice and friendly as usual. Even brought his more awesome better half Fiona who rocks and ran as well.

It was a good Con.

Special Shout out to Mrs. Mike Brock (Janet) who came and visited...and even dragged along her vacationing husband. Good to see them both.

The cake was not a lie. It was delicious.

This year's Dundracon was an absolute blast. I had great players at my tables in every session including quite a few walk-ins.

Josh Archer gets the bulk of the credit for things going so smoothly. It was also a pleasure to play Carrion Hill with such a stellar group of folks.

The bar has been set very high for Kublacon. However, I have faith that Painlord can pull it off.

Speaking of Painlord and Carrion Hill, my next character may have to be an escaped mental patient of Carrion Hill who worships "Aroden". Perhaps an inquisitor with the conversion inquisition.

Thanks for the ridiculous kind words, Pain. I was bummed that I was unable to bask in your presence for a single game, but I'm glad we got to chit-chat even for just a little bit.

It was all totally worth it though to inflict vicious curses and negative levels upon Ogre. Maniacal laugh!

Shadow Lodge 2/5

Ouch... you were planning that all along, I knew it!

Sadly, I am not nearly a competent enough GM to thoroughly plot the demise of one as awesome as Teef ahead of time.

Teef and Aldwulf were two of my favorite characters I've gamed with in some time. Many thanks for that. :)

Shadow Lodge 2/5

Hah, thanks!

They are so fun to play I hate to apply chronicles to them. That's why I switched to slow progression...

You were a great GM, easily the best GM I had all weekend. I'm certain if you had put your mind to it I'd have been toast. Considering Teef jumped in the window with all of 25 HP, a full attack by Rovagug's little cousin and he'd have been toast!

If you're wondering why your god is crying, this is why.

EDIT: w00t! Just dinged! 3 stars! Check out them babies!

Considering it's been over 4 months since I've seen "Air-o-Den" in the flesh (paper?), he is sadly disqualified from that nomination. :P

And congrats on the stars!

Thanks for the kind words, Ogre. I'm looking forward to gaming with you guys again soon!

Let's hear it for diligent venture officers. (Looks at lack of star...recalls lack of reporting....puts it behind yet again.)

Had a good time. Nice organization job and a special shout out to Brian M. who did a great job judging his first PFS event.

Definitely! All the first time GM's, replacement GM's, and people who stepped up at the con to run an improvised table for walk-in players need to really be thanked. I know Cherry Pi stepped in at the last second to GM a full table of Frostfur and there were several others who did the same.

It's stressful to suddenly find yourself running a game you weren't planning to run. Hats off to the folks who rose to the occasion in the face of so many walk-ins.
