is it ok to add more opponents or increase their difficulty when GMing a PFS scenario?

Im new to the world of PFS GMing but anxious to get my feet wet.

The short of it is no, you may not.

The long of it is This thread.

A thought to add is that if the table is full and the players feel confident they're up to a challenge, they're likely eligible to play up to the next higher tier the module is written for. But that's a choice the players make for themselves, rather than the GM making on their behalf to keep things dangerous/challenging.

The scenarios should be run as written without adding or changing the foes.

Absolutely follow these rules. I follow them to the letter. UNLESS people at the table are just not having FUN!

This is a game to have FUN playing. Some of the lower tier ones especially can become whoever wins initiative gets to kill the enemy.

Do NOT kill them, cause you made it harder (more fun) do NOT give them conditions which makes them spend resources etc...

I really hope that, for the sake of PFS, that I am not GMing "illegally" following these rules. This game is there for the table to enjoy themselves, so make sure everyone has a chance to shine and that they know that pathfindering is a difficult and dangerous profession.

fun,fun,fun.

Thanks for the input guys. Noted and acknowledged.

To clarify, J-Bone, an increase in difficulty for 6 PCs is built in by having the APL raised by one.
No changes should be made to the foes beyond that. PFS scenarios are built using specific CRs for various Tiers. While it is tempting to do something to "challenge" the party, doing so often imbalances the campaign, and miscalculating has led to TPKs and players leaving the program.

I know this has fully been covered in the aforementioned thread. But why do the rules i said above (which give no chance at a tpk, and dont actually imbalance the metacampaign) have any difference beside making it more fun.
This is a reason that pleanty of quality gm's, able to alter the module for what the party wants and needs to make it fun, are leaving pfs play.
