How many characters are most adventure paths designed to accommodate?

Pathfinder Adventure Path General Discussion

All,

How many characters are most adventure paths typically designed to accommodate? Or is each one different?

Thanks!

they're all designed with four characters in mind:)

Shackled City and Age of Worms (the old 3.5 Adventure Paths) were designed with 6 characters in mind.

Rise of the Runelords onwards were designed with 4 characters in mind. You CAN have up to 6 characters, but it usually requires some adjustment or not worrying too much if the PCs occasionally fall behind on XP as 6 characters has an average party level of +1.

Kingmaker has a great 6 player conversion.

Cool. But none for massive parties of like 9 people or something?

I'm not in that circumstance, was just curious. I just remember back when I played in a 10-player/1-gm game once. :)

No the game tends to break down at anything more than 6 players. Essentially going that far from the presumed for "here be monsters".

I find that with six people you probably want to use the fast experience track instead of the medium.
