The Beginner Box in all it's glory - some 3D layouts

I did introduce a group of 4 children from my sons class (10 - soon 11) to the Beginner Box yesterday. They have started a few weeks ago playing Pregens in PFS with me as GM.
Two of them (one my son) have now played the Godsmouth Heresy and all four have played two season zero scenarios (Murder on the Silken Caravan and Prince of Augustana). I only got my hands on the Beginner Bash last weekend when our local VC GMed it during a convention I organized in London.
This is a great next step (should it been the first ?). I'm already advising the parents to buy Beginner Boxes for their kids for Christmas. Yesterday was part of the marketing for that. I guess only my little boy will have to share with daddy.
So yesterday the teachers went on strike - so instead of school they could do the whole Beginner Bash. My hope is that once they get the box they will also work on their own characters. The plan is to carry on with the PreGens ahead of Christmas and then in the break to GM Crypt of the Everflame with characters they designed themselves.

The children had a lot of fun - in-between I had my 8 year old daughter and her 7 year old friend joining us for one game. One participant mentioned 'this is better than warhammer'. So big Kudos to Paizo.

But back to the topic. Being a 10 year long collector of DwarvenForge I did take care that the group not only had a great play experience but that I was able to also build up the whole bash in great 3D glory.

If you are interested - here is the link to the DwarvenForge Forum (external) where I post my layouts.

Spoiler warning - the pictures will show layouts as well as some monsters and parts of the story line will be obvious after reading my explanations to the pictures even if I tried not to share the plots themselves.

Enjoy

And Thanks again to Paizo - the children had a fantastic time yesterday. I'm now likely to be badgered on the school ground again - when to GM again. My hope is that with the Beginner Box they will be able to start themselves.

They always will have me to help out and run for them if needed.

Good LORD, Thod! I wish you lived in Seattle. I'd be at you game with my son and nephew just so we could experience that. Nicely done. I followed your link and everything looks AMAZING. As soon as I saw the map with the blue stones, I thought to myself, "Hey... wait..." and then the candle on the coffin, and I r suddenly remembered that the Beginner Box Bash scenarios were redone scenarios that we ran at PAX.
Well done, Man. Now I just have to get ahold of Mike Brock and see if I can get copies of the BBB scenarios for the kids I'm going to run for...

(PS: I might just have to make my own mimic minis using screen captures of those two you've got there. Beautiful.)

Great that you like it. I would welcome you at my table any time - but Seattle is a little bit far. The Beginner Box Bash is a great way to introduce children to the game and give their parents an idea for a Christmas present.
