Even worse, when my schedule finally DOES get a change for school time, it seems like there was no way for me to get off the graveyard shift without being stuck work noon-8PM on Saturdays.
Believe me when I say I fought tooth and nail for, at the very least, an "every other" Saturday schedule... but it's looking like I lost the fight.
I am still hoping that I will be able to make evening games, even if I can't show up till 6 or later pretty much every night. Maybe this will be good incentive for me to get the Sylva area group up and running...

Anywho... yea, my presence at the games will be greatly diminished, and no one is more upset about that than I am

Goon NOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! that really sucks man. Me and jake run during the week some time maybe we can get to join us one week

Well, greatly diminished doesn't mean none. This too shall pass, I am sure. In the meantime, it sounds like you'll be well positioned to be a good Herald for the Lodge, and maybe you, Leej, Arvandor etc can get an APL-West chapter up and running for weekday gaming perhaps?

Much love, brother, and I am pleased I was able to kill you before you left. :D

Grand Lodge 5/5 * Venture-Captain, New Zealand—Dunedin

Goon, I also wish to express my satisfaction at having killed your character before you, the player, were MIA.

Life happens here at the Asheville Pathfinder Lodge. We all know that the hours that we spend in Golarion are fantastic but fleeting. And we know that reality can put a kibosh on it in a heartbeat. But we also know the rock-solid soul of a gamer when we see one, Goon.

We trust that you will be back, and when you do, the dust-drape-covered chair over the newly-animated figure of Goon will be peeled back, and we will ride again.

Until then, may I suggest Jake's Thursday night insanity sessions to purge the urge until APL West pushes off from shore?

You will be missed in the interim.

Four questions:

1. Is Shades of Ice getting the same treatment as Quest For Perfection did, where all the parts are going to be run multiple times?

2. Does anyone know yet which Intro is going to be run on August 4th?

3. Is there still the possibility of a game for this weekend, either Saturday or Sunday?

4. Jake, did you really run a game yesterday at 5 AM? Or is that a typo on the Warhorn?

Liberty's Edge 2/5

http://warhorn.net/asheville-pfs/

Friendly reminder/repost!

Silver Crusade 4/5

1: That depends on how much intrest we have, and GMs with a desire to do it. We did QFP because of the boon in part 3, to make sure everyone had a chance to get it.

2: nothing has been said for sure tha slot in an overflow session and will likely be deturmined on game day,

3: I'm probaly not running. Saturday is out if u want to play at Wyvern's Tale due to a ternimet, Sunday is a posibility but you have to find a GM willing to run, I may be there that evening but a fulfledged senario would be to much for me, I could run intro II or the Quest if there was enough intrest...

4: :D ya that was a typo!

Thanks for the answers, Jake.

The sleep-loving side of me (which also wants everyone else to be well-rested) was hoping you didn't game at 5am, but the crazy "game anywhere, game anytime, game any way" side of me was hoping you had.

Scarab Sages

im hoping there will maybe be a game i can play in tomorrow afternoon. so i will probably be there around 5 0r 530. if anyone feels like meeting up please do =)

Silver Crusade 5/5

Sczarni

I was down for another all day game lol.

Shadow Lodge 2/5

Just a shout out, I'm starting a small business that does custom painting of minis. I have a flyer up at the Wyvern's Tale, and a Facebook page; found here: http://www.facebook.com/ObscureMiniatures.

I'll also have some of my mini's for sale at the next meeting. Just look for the guy in the Santa hat for anyone who doesn't know who I am

Good question, are The races like Catfolk and Ratfolk from the advanced race guide allow in PF society play?

No. Any race other than the core races can only be played if you have a racial boon sheet for the race. The current races available through a boon are limited as well.

To create an aasimar, dhampir, fetchling, ifrit, kitsune, nagaji, oread, sylph, tengu, tiefling, undine, or wayang character, you must have a Chronicle sheet that opens the race as a legal option at character creation.

Cold Weather Gear for the win! It doesn't give you a penalty in hot weather strangely...

It's mostly because I'm making a dwarf with a white beard and a red hat, named Nicholas. He likes bossing Elves around! He's a paladin, a bit of a switch from my predominately fighter characters.

Liberty's Edge 2/5

I recommend the Stonelord Paladin from Advanced Race Guide, if you have that choice, Lego.

Scarab Sages 1/5

Yeah, that is one incredible archetype!

I guess that's you signed up for both parts... are you playing one of your Ulfen?

To whoever posted the scenarios:
Why does part two of 'Shades of Ice' have a GM, while part one does not? The person signed up to run part two is running some other adventure in the first time slot... and if there's no one that knows they want to run the first part, how did you decide to include it?

Sovereign Court

GMs state which scenarios they are wanting to run. Sometimes you end up with scenarios that get run in sequence, sometimes not. Sometimes RL steps up and kicks someone out of a slot they were planning on running.

Of course if other folks than the regular GMs want to run a scenario, I don't think anyone would complain ... ;)

Golf clap, *nods*, Looks around the room... anybody?

God speed friendo, we look forward to you presence and lament your absence.

Liberty's Edge 2/5

I may have to bail on my later game. Still looking forward to the Bloodcove Disguise, though. This game should be a lot of fun.

Luthril, since no one has signed up for your 5:30, would you be okay to take over the second Shades of Ice for me, if needed? Is that one you've ran before?

Silver Crusade 5/5

I've already purchased and prepped Mists... email me the PDF and I'll read it and input it into herolab.

I'd like to join the gaming this weekend (8/4) but have not played pathfinder before nor played in an organized gaming society. What do I need to do to get in on the action?

Thanks,

Liberty's Edge 2/5

Welcome welcome Glyir! Pathfinder is really familiar to those who played 3.5, and even if you didn't, it's a pretty intuitive system and can be pretty quickly picked up.

If you show up ahead of a game. We have two sessions: 12:30 and 5:30. They open at 12:00, but if you need a hand with character generations I or some other GM will be glad to meet you ahead of time to help whip one up in advance of the 12:30 session. All you need is the ubiquitous box o' dice, a character sheet, a pencil, and a good attitude. We will give you a new Player Number and confirmation code to register your character on this website, and from there, you're off to the races.

If you want to do the later game (5:30 kickoff) come early to the Wyvern's Tale and look for someone in a black shirt to help you with your character.

If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me!

I wasn't trying to complain or demand anything, I was just trying to figure out how it works. Are those dead games, then?

Sovereign Court

I didn't think you were complaining or anything, sorry if it sounded that way.

And I would not say they are dead games. They could very well be picked up by a GM prior to Saturday or the GM who is planning on running it just did not sign up for the GM slot on Warhorn.

Silver Crusade 5/5

Or you could sign up for a GM that hasn't got anyone signed up for table yet....

Justin, I didn't realize until I started reading it that this is the second in a chain, AND the very chain that I died in, ie can never complete... kinda puts a damper on the whole thing...

Why is it that the folks in your game couldn't just switch to the one I already have prepped?

Liberty's Edge 2/5

You know what, I'm going to nut up and get this done. I'm still on for prepping both games to run.

Which ones?

Liberty's Edge 2/5

Bloodcove Disguise at 12:30 (Still need a healer and a Tank, too dang many rogues!) and then Shades of Ice Part II- The Exiles of Winter.

Scarab Sages 1/5

So the new season debuts at GenCon and starts out with a Goblin thieves guild. That can only end in tears. (of laughter)

I wasn't trying to goad you into running it. Don't get in hot water pver gaming... I was suggesting that the fellas in that slot could just run Mists of Mwangi instead, unless they have already, in which case of course I'd run yours. All my free time between now and Saturday is gone, but I'll find a way to get it prepped. Anyone have the other 2 parts? May as well prep it all....

Liberty's Edge 2/5

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Nah. I realized it's a labor of love. And I do love it so. Besides, asked the wife, and she called me out for being a wuss and told me to run 2 games.

So there's that.

That is awesome! Your wife just keeps getting gamer points. You're a lucky man.

Hey y'all...

WEEKLY SIGN-UP LINK!!!

I also set up the Warhorn for August 18th. Oh, you're welcome.

Pathfinder Collegiate Heralds (PCHs), y'all will be getting a love package from - who else? - StrangePackages this coming Saturday. Instructions will be forthcoming.

T-shirts! T-shirts. T-shirts? Thorynn?

A website is in the works. Our very own home on the World Wide 2nd level Wizard Spell. You need to stay thirsty, my friends.

Glyir, welcome welcome welcome! There will be a game with your name on it this coming Saturday at the Wyvern's Tale. It doesn't matter if you've never played Pathfinder, or Pathfinder Society. Bring your imagination, something to scrawl with, and a social mien: we will provide the rest.

Happy Tuesday, APLers!

T-shirts were ordered last week, should be here in two weeks or just in time for the 18th Game. Maybe earlier if we end up doing an off-week game. I'll let you know on here when they arrive! For anyone who missed out, TWT will be stocking a few Ls and XLs. I know one of the Ls is already spoken for. Next big order will probably be Oct. or Nov. depending on demand.

Back in BLACK! We'll be looking good here in a bit. Or at least like some sort of cult or something...

Once again, as usual, more family BS has wrecked my one day per week that I have to enjoy my hobby. I'm vacating the slots in this weekend's games. I'll see you guys one day before I die hopefully...

Grand Lodge 5/5 * Venture-Captain, New Zealand—Dunedin

Blarrrrgh! The doors remain open, Aravandor.

Sovereign Court

Still waiting to hear if I am going to be in town or not. Hoping to have a definite answer one way or the other tonight.

Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Shadow Lodge 2/5

Got a nice set of minis painted and ready to be finished. if anyone is interested! prices range from 10-30 dollars!
I'll have pictures up on my Facebook Page: http://www.facebook.com/ObscureMiniatures

If anyone wants a custom painted miniature please MSG me here on the boards or bring it to the meeting!

Scarab Sages 4/5

Can a level 4 (assuming I survive the morning) sneak into "You Only Die Twice," which looks like it will be Tier 5-6, or would I have to run a pregen? If not, looks like I'll be bringing my cleric into Mists for the afternoon.

It would be cool to have a couple more along for a game being run tomorrow afternoon, 12-4.

Look for Scott Dillin's thread there.

Thanks,
