Careful... naming certain powers can be dangerous to the untrained....

Silver Crusade 1/5

gm gets character level stuff, so if you have a level 2 character and run a 1-2,3-5 scenario regardless of group you run it for you get 1-2 tier stuff, if you have a level 4 you get the 4-5 tier stuff regardless of what tier you run. and you can only apply it to a character eligible to get the stuff, except that you can run higher level scenarios, but you don't get the credit to your character until it is high enough to be eligible to play it

RainyDay, way to promote your game! The gaming store (DeWayne's World) in Kingsport, TN is worth the trip over the mountains alone (it's about 1hr from Asheville, all-told). I would love to see RainyDay get more PFS tables.

In fact, let's organize a field trip. December 1st should be a Kingsport Game Day. (RainyDay, would you check on that?) I'm officially making it a "Bring the Mountain to Mohammed" event. Let's car pool to RainyDay. Who's down with me?

-Dink

This might be a little late, but I would be down with that

If anyone is interested in Playtesting Numenera http://www.numenera.com/ with me send me a PM I am looking to do it friday evenings 6-10. I have the NDAs which need to be signed, and the rough draft of the core rules to test.

Scarab Sages

The PFSRD is failing me on explanations. How does one enchant a weapon? If I want a Corrosive weapon, I need to make the weapon a +1 and then Corrosive? or does Corrosive make it a +1. And how does this effect later enchantments such as +2 quality?

At the moment what I'm coming up with in my head is 2000g for the +1 and another +1 for the Corrosive.

Then for +2 it would be 6000g since its already a +1, and then 8000g for getting Endless Ammunition.

I dont know if I would lose the Corrosive or not with doing such a thing, or if I would need a higher level enchanted weapon.

I needs help v.v

The Exchange 2/5

1 person marked this as a favorite.

First you must pay for a +1 enchant on a MWK weapon. Which would be 2000gp. After that you can spend 6000GP to add the corrosive enchant, making it a +1 corrosive weapon. Which all told makes this an effect +2 cost wise.
For the Endless Ammunition enchant, you would need to pay the cost to bump a +2 to a plus +4. Which means you would have a +1 corrosive endless ammunition weapon.

Silver Crusade 4/5

Yup all that for the price of a +4. ~32,300gp is quite a lot, to put it in perspective; Exalebar had a total earning of about 55,000gp at 9th level.

Scarab Sages

great, thanks guys

-Blows off the dust from the reply button.-

Ok stupid question, when 'fixing' a level one character are you allowed to change factions or not?

I don't think you can but just wondering...

But if you can't, how much does a wand of Corrosive Touch would be?
(Level 1 spell)

Thank you guys~ ^_^

Sovereign Court

I would need to dig up the answer to the rebuild question, but I am thinking you can for a level 1 rebuild. I could, of course be completely off the mark as, you know, I would need to dig up the answer to be sure.

For the wand though, the cost would be 750gp. Wands cost can be calculated as follows: Level of the spell x the caster's level x 750gp ... as wands, scrolls and potions are assumed to be minimum caster level unless otherwise stated, a wand of a 1st level spell would be 1 (spell level) x 1 (caster level) x 750gp.

Cantrips count as .5 for spell level, BTW ... no they are not free. ;)

The Exchange 2/5

Yep, you can make any changes that you want to your character before they reach level 2.

Silver Crusade 1/5

the only thing you cant change before level 2 is the character number and scenarios you have done with it.

Silver Crusade 4/5

The faction will still be reported as the old one on the site. So all PP per faction calculations will be off when ya look at the Scennarios tab.

Grand Lodge 5/5 * Venture-Captain, New Zealand—Dunedin

I second the above answers by Granyt and QC.

Happy Tuesday, my tiefling twits! We've got some goings-on to be reported.

Firstly, there's a playtest aboot. Granyt (see above) has a license to playtest the latest Monte Cook world, Numenera. It's an APL exclusive!!! So if you want to look good in front of Monte Cook when he comes to the APL next year to run a game/sign a book/hang out and be awesome, make sure and hit up Granyt today! His playtest will likely run on Friday night or off-Saturdays. Email him today!!!

The APL-Sczarni will be meeting at the Deck Box in Fletcher next Tuesday 11/20. We'll be polishing off the last part of the Devil We Know series. Come on out to Smiley's Flea Market to see what the fuss is all about.

Next APL will be November 24th, which y'all also might refer to as post-Turkey Day Saturday. We're drum(stick)ing up some games, but we're in need of GMs who may be available. If you're a-thinking of running a game on 11/24, talk to me today. We can totally make it happen.

December 8th is the Return of PFS Module Day!!! We've got three modules (those are longer, 8-hour sessions) for Pathfinder Society credit to offer on that day: From Shore to Sea (for the higher level - 6th - adventurer), Murder's Mark (1st level), and a reprise of the APL Module that started all the fuss - We Be Goblins! You can sign up on Warhorn today.

DID I MENTION SIGN-UPS?!?!

December 15th (off Saturday) is our 1 year anniversary at the APL, and our 6 month anniversary at the Wyvern's Tale. And unless you've been under a rock, you know we're excited as can be to bring y'all Blood Under Absalom, a multi-table extravaganza of gaming glory. Sign up now. Sign up again. Bring your Mom; this is going to rock.

Finally, a birdie told me that someone at the WT will be celebrating a milestone birthday soon. No word right now on the tragedy that's befalling that person, but I'm sure someone else knows more about it....

That's all for now, peeps.

Paul, do you have any details in mind for your field trip up to Kingsport? Assuming full attendance this weekend (which is iffy, as I'm currently rolling a fortitude save against a cold), we'll have 5 players at level 4 (six, if you include me), and 1-4 players at level 1 or 2. So one table each at the 1-2 and 4-5 subtier of something would be great. Who do you have rounded up so far, and what are you thinking of running?

Grand Lodge 5/5 * Venture-Captain, New Zealand—Dunedin

I have 2 others besides myself rounded up (BaileyOne and Galen) for a field trip. Any other APL takers on a field trip to Kingsport TN? I'm driving.

I'd be happy to run whatever you need for December 1st. I'm sure we could talk one of the other APLers into running a game as well, which means that you could PLAY!!!

Unless otherwise specified, I'll run a level 3-7 game (I'm thinking Severing Ties, one of the Season 4 scenarios).

Cool?

-Dink

PS. Shall I create a Warhorn for December 1st, or are you on that, RainyDay?

3/5 RPG Superstar Season 9 Top 32, RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16, RPG Superstar 2013 Top 16

A 3-4 subtier could be good, but some things to consider:
1. Three players are currently at level 4: the summoner with his ridiculously tanky eidolon, a rogue, and a dwarf fighter. I would play my level 4 cleric.
2. Two players will level up to 4 after this week (assuming I'm well enough to run), a magus and a ninja.
3. Of those five, 3 are pre-teen kids. I don't know what kind of content is in Severing Ties, but keep that in mind.
4. They've been regularly playing up due to table size, so they're ahead of the wealth curve, and I have a bad habit of rolling 1s when I have a chance to do some real damage. So they're used to relative cake-walks. I hope you plan to fix that...

Shadow Lodge 2/5

Sounds fun! Can't wait

Shadow Lodge 3/5

I do Turkeyday on Saturday with the fam... I highly doubt I would be back in town early enough for a session. If anyone is interested in a Friday game that holiday weekend, I would be up for playing or running something. I am cutting my teeth on the GM role, but I like it.

I could run Intro Steps (any), Mists of Mwangi, Cyphermage Dilemma, or others...

Thoughts? Interest?

Grand Lodge 5/5 * Venture-Captain, New Zealand—Dunedin

Cyphermage Dilemma is currently only available to be run by 5-star GMs or Venture-Officers, so you couldn't run that one. Any others you're welcome to run. I love new GMs.

-Dink

Shadow Lodge 3/5

True... I was under the impression that Cyphermage Dilemma had been released to the underlings - which it has, but not until Feb. 27 2013... So until then!

I just picked up the updated for PFRPG Mists of Mwangi... would there be interest?

T-Shirts T-Shirts T-Shirts!

With the upcoming 1st Anniversary Blood Under game coming up, I thought we might do a commemorative dark red APL shirt, with maybe a new front graphic for the event. What do you guys think? We'd have to act pretty fast to get them by the event, but if there is enough interest I think it would be really cool.

Dark Archive 3/5

Silver Crusade 1/5

PM me if you are interested doing the Numenera play testing. I am thinking Fridays 6-10, with the possibility of off week saturdays 6-10 as well, Monte has different things he wants tested each week. http://www.numenera.com/

Oh, I had a thought about what scenario to run for the low-tier table on your Kingsport field trip. I've been wanting to run them through the whole Blakros Museum series, but wouldn't you know it, the character I'm putting my GM credit on has played exactly one scenario, and it's "Voice in the Void!" So since that's off the table for me in the near future, it might be worth considering for whoever else wants to GM that day.

The obvious would be a D20 with a 1 on it for our one year anniversary, but a crit-fail has some negative connotations, so I'm open to ideas. Blood Under Asheville? I'm just spitballin' here...
